Totally agree, but it'll be much easier voting out a couple of lousy elected board members in comparison to a self-serving wealthy investor with majority shares

Problem is to get folk to represent the FSS on the Board. Once you vote someone off, you need someone ready to replace them.

Thats the stuff. Now with social media allowing all concerned a vote it could really get rid of them voting for us and if mistakes are made it is our responsibility! Supporters of the club unite you have nothing to lose but your chains LOL

Only works if the elected representatives communicate the relevant messages and consult / listen to the members concerns.

  3. I don't think Agyeman wide is anywhere near as effective when he is lying just a little behind McIver and more central.

The first games of the season where McGlynn had Morrison wide left and Agyeman wide right did very little to install confidence in me for the league campaign.

Moving Morrison back to the right side, Agyeman in the middle with Miller on the left, has been much more successful and a bit of a revelation.

I wouldn't change anything to upset the team formation dynamic, therefore if Miller is out I'd have Nesbitt playing a similar role, but not sure he is capable of it.

Why are you assuming he doesn’t care?

No one has talked about the issue with shares for the last wee while.

Why bring it up, unless they want to start the conversation again ?

Why tie it into the teams performance ?

Maybe having a wee pop at those on here who are interested in the governance of our club ?

Funny that after two attacking performances there are no posts regarding share issue or no share issue. It is great when good football takes centre stage

Might be a topic of conversation on here after the FSS meeting on Friday night.

Football is one thing, the survival and the way our club is run is another.

The only problem with that is he would be taking Alfie off which yes is a like for like sub in terms of skill level but it’s only worth it situations like cove chasing a game late on but it’s good giving Allan game time just to help with fitness and confidence with playing on his own

I agree to a certain extent.

I also agree with other posts that MacIver may be pivotal to our season. We certainly dont want him picking up an injury needlessly when the game is done and dusted.

However, I also think that the 2 players need actual time togther for situations when they would need to be thrown on to chase games.

Putting it out there but wonder if Jordan Allan will be satisfied with a bit part role as he’s unlikely to be starting  anytime soon. Personally speaking in his shoes might be looking for a loan move to January to get regular game time freeing up a wage for us to replace him on a temporary basis with a loan move for a young paces striker.

Thought that was the one of the wrong substitution decisions made last night. We all know Allan can’t play up front on his own. McGlynn should have left McIver on to partner Allan and let the wee man feed off the big man.

  8. As good as Ive seen from us for a fair wee while. First half was excellent. What a difference getting the ball out wide quick and hitting the bye-line, which caused them a real panic every time.

A special mention must go to Miller who I thought was outstanding in the first half.  Also, Long for his double save which was exceptional and very important at that stage of the match.

Foot off the pedal for the second half, but contained them well.

    Roll on Saturday !

I don't think it's time to sack the manager... Yet, but i would like to see him change things and not start every game with the same slow and safe play.

I think thats the problem. First 10 minutes we go gung ho.....and look great. If we don't score we revert back to the tippy tappy across the back, looking for an opening that invariably doesn't occur.  When that happens we hope there isn't a calamity at the back. After that, it's anyones guess what will happen.

Tbh if and when McGlynn does go I wouldn't be surprised if Smith got the job, or at least offered it.

Speaking to a Raith fan, he was full of praise for Smith. Saying that they played better and more enjoyable to watch football when McGlynn was sidelined due to health reasons and Smith took control.

Interestingly he also said that, in age terms, there is no difference between the two.

Saying tonight is must win in mid August is a huge over reaction IMO. It is just nonsense. Anyway looking forward to the game tonight and take in the atmosphere the young team will bring.

must win game to prevent Hamilton stretching their lead at the top and setting those alarm bells off,

  12. 31 minutes ago, Mr Grimsdale said:

Oh very good. If you read what I said I am simply saying  win lose or draw tonight will not decide our season. Some saying it is are frankly talking nonsense. I agree losing sends alarm bells and the manager will rightly start to come under scrutiny. I have been to both league games and so far I have both enjoyed the performance and thought we looked better. Let’s see what today brings

I agree, the season will not be decided until it’s mathematically impossible for any team to be caught at the top..

…….and you agree with me that alarm bells will start ringing if we lose tonight.

Apart from my opinion that tonight is a must win game to prevent Hamilton stretching their lead at the top and setting those alarm bells off,, where does the “knicker wetting” in the extreme lie?

Stirling this season give me the same feel as FC Edinburgh last season. They will storm the first quarter then start to fade probably. Games against them will be hard fought and their confidence will be high. We will need to be solid at the back and wait for our chance which will come. A narrow win against a new team in good form would do me.

I'll take any win, good or ugly.

  14. 11 minutes ago, Mr Grimsdale said:

I don’t agree. Look what they did to St.Johnstone. FWIW I think we will beat them but it won’t be as easy as some seem to think if we don’t get an early goal.

I don't think anyone is saying it will be an easy game.

The point is, that this we should be beating these teams at home.  Not beating Stirling would be a major blow to our credentials as potential champions.  We lost 5 pts to Kelty last season at home and a repeat of that scenario is not one we want.

I'm pleased that you don't think we should be too worried if we get beat, but I certainly will be !

We have a lot more ST holders now versus the last few seasons at Brockville. Even the last season in 02/03 we had around 1000 but the number of PATG was huge due to how well we were playing.

Regarding tomorrow night, it’s a must win on the basis it’s a home game, a home game versus a newly promoted team & lastly it’s a home game against STIRLING ALBION. Get it won, reduce the gap on Accies & move onto Alloa on Saturday.

Get a grip of yourself man......we are only 2 games into the season 😉

  16. 30 minutes ago, Mr Grimsdale said:

Knicker wetting in the extreme. It is so far away from a must win game with nearly 92% of points to be played for. Of course we would rather win but nothing will be decided win, lose or draw.

Knicker wetting or not..... you watch the melt down on here if we get beat.

Of course the title isn't won (or lost) on the 3rd league match of the season. However, we said the same last season when we lost the first match to Kelty away and to QP at home the season before.

Last year we watched Dunfermline get to the top and not let anyone near them. Giving Hamilton a start, might just allow them to get the momentum they want.

A win on Tuesday is vitally important for confidence.  A loss will start to bring all the self doubt back.

  17. Unbelievable, but only 2 games in and Stirling Albion is almost shaping up to be a "must win" game for us !

Looking back at some posts, I agree that Lang, Spencer, McIver and Agyemon (infuriating though he is) are an improvement over last seasons guys.

However, as we have already seen many times this season, our defence still gives me nightmares. We cannot continue to give schoolboy goals away as we have done....or even allow the opposition to get a sniff.  Until we sort that out, we are going to struggle.

FFS......imagine being nervous about playing Stirling Albion at home !!!!!!

  18. No matter what, the ref should only give a penalty if it’s clear and unambiguous. No way in hell could he be absolutely sure who handled the ball, if that’s what he gave it for. Even on here, with the benefit of FFC VAR no one can realistically call it.

Possible that the linesman thought it was and communicated through the headset?

Man City play two simple formations within a game (and Liverpool are trying the same thing). 4-3-3 when they don’t have the ball, and 3-2-2-3 when they have it. Transitions both ways are really quick.

.....and if the opposing player in the middle looks as though he is going to threaten, he gets the legs taken from him high enough up the pitch to snuff out any danger.  Sometimes the Man City player gets a yellow....sometimes they get away with it.  gives them time to regroup.

Provided we actually move the ball about quickly aye

That’s the key. If you move the ball around pretty slowly it’s dead easy to defend with 10 men.

With Spencer in the middle, I think there is a little more intent to get the ball moving forward quicker than when McGinn plays. On Saturday there was one peach of a first time pass that split their defence wide open.

Think Saturday will be a different a different ball game. Can’t see them putting 10 men behind the ball.

Good post, I won’t cancel either as in the end it’s only going to harm the club. I also always presumed once the FSS reached the 25% +1 my money would indeed become more of a glorified donation, I’m fine with that so long as it’s helping the club and I’m satisfied the money is being used wisely. I don’t think it’s realistic for the club to be continually issuing share’s indefinitely, that would become a bit ridiculous.

I agree with this ...... but the FSS have to get to the 25%+1 first. How are they supposed to do that if the club wont sell them the shares ?
