  1. I think we’ll get a goal from somewhere but tbh we look like an absolute gang. I appreciate that Rennie is looking for quality but how we haven’t been able to identify anyone better than Hall, McKay and Miller yet I don’t know. I’m also not convinced ATS is of the quality required.
  2. For me if an annual vaccine dose is what it will take to appease the bedwetters and allow a return to total normality, I would take it. But that would have to mean the end of all restrictions including masks and self-isolation.
  3. Will give the guy a chance but tbh I’m not convinced it’s the kind of signing that will get us into the playoffs. We’ve had enough young kids over the last few years who aren’t ready for the first team.
  4. I believe it’s Scottish government guidance that unis should have distancing in place and no classes bigger than 50
  5. I don’t think that’s true in most cases. Yes, there are exceptions like McAllister and Megginson but I’d say the vast majority of part time players would take a full time contract if offered. Good youngsters in particular want to progress in the game and that means going full time. The other thing is that the exceptions tend to have a good career/business where they’re currently based so they’re not going to give that up to move to the central belt.
  6. Well we’re 18 days into the transfer window and it’s been quiet to say the least so far. Clearly there’s no point bringing in players who aren’t better than what we’ve got but I hope we haven’t pinned all our hopes on players who we had no chance of signing.
  7. TBH I’d be looking for another job if we got told to wfh full time. We’ve been able to go in on a totally voluntary basis since August and the vast majority (I’d say 85%+) have been in at least a few days a week since. My and most colleagues’ general well-being has dramatically improved since. I have absolutely no desire to go back to sitting staring at the same 4 walls all day every day. My employer is quite happy to work out arrangements with people who’d rather be at home full time but so far not many have taken them up on that.
  8. Clearly the motivations for this move are questionable, but tbh I do think the current BBC funding arrangements are an anachronism. It is not appropriate imo to have a system where people can be imprisoned for not paying for what is effectively an entertainment service that they don’t need or want. Yes, there is an argument that the BBC’s public service output should be protected and funded through other means. But I can’t see a valid argument for compelling people to pay for Bargain Hunt or Strictly come dancing that they don’t want- that’s equivalent to Amazon Prime charging a fee to watch Netflix.
  9. Fox seems realistic to me as he hasn’t played for Motherwell this season but I suspect they’d want to get a replacement in to sit on the bench first (unless they’re going to go with PJ Morrison).
  10. I don’t think so going by Rennie’s interview. He says he’s looking to bring in improvements all over the pitch.
  11. That would be foolish imo. Yes, we are shite but somehow we’re only 3 points off the play off places. 5 or 6 additions could allow us to push for the 4th spot. A fourth season in league 1 would be disastrous for the club financially- I suspect we’d see a substantial fall in ST and PATG income.
  12. I notice Hetherington and Mcdaid weren’t mentioned as being injured so they might be away
  13. Thought that was a fairly even game overall. We’re an absolute shambles at the back and will automatically concede 2 goals to half decent opposition until that’s addressed- Hall and McKay poor as usual but the other 3 weren’t great today either. 3 great chances missed as well. 2 centre halves still needed along with a defensive midfielder and striker- Keena’s not the answer alongside Dowds as he just doesn’t contribute enough imo. I’d also be looking for a goalkeeper- what Martin was doing for the 3rd goal I don’t know (albeit he may well not have been fit). I wouldn’t be playing Mcguffie at CM or at all tbh. He’s not good enough on the wing and is effectively a man down in midfield.
  14. I’m not advocating playing him there but that was his natural position at Dundee United I believe
  15. Presumably Dixon, Taylor-Sinclair or Lemon would all play at lb before Sneddon, so seems like a waste of time to me.
  16. Absolutely- I remember after the ‘2 week circuit breaker’ last October/November hoping Edinburgh would get moved to tier 2 and outdoor pints would be allowed (why was that even banned in the first place?) It never happened despite Edinburgh being well within the SG thresholds. Crazy that it was illegal to meet 2 mates in a garden or leave your council area for 8 months.
  17. Seems odd to me be to be resigning 6 weeks into the role, after the company secretary has just done the same and coaches have resigned suddenly. Seems more than a coincidence to me. I’d also be interested to know more about how these ‘working groups’ were put together. I’d have thought you’d want to have an open application process, but they seem to have been hand picked by board members as far as I can see.
  18. Looks to me like all the covid measures are being gradually wound down now in England. NS will try to keep it going as long as possible, but I can’t see the ‘new normal’ schtick working for much longer when we have actual normality over the border with no issues.
  19. Less than half of ‘covid patients’ in London now being mainly treated for covid. I wonder when we’ll get proper data from the SG rather than two ‘random’ dates from random health boards.
  20. Wow, photo ID needed to get a coffee from Starbucks. Let’s hope Sturgeon doesn’t get any ideas.
  21. I know he held open trials in Edinburgh and a good number of the players come from there so it can’t have been a totally closed shop
  22. Tbf Fergus has been a head coach at the Man United, Hibs and Hearts academies as well as running his own coaching business. Speculation on my part but it’s a huge coincidence that he’s resigned just after getting a new boss. He’s been talking since he came in about having a long term project in mind.
  23. I know Swinney has a background in youth development so may be a case of Fergus feeling he was interfering, It’s certainly a disappointing loss as Fergus had a strong pedigree and by all accounts was doing a great job.
