I know he was deeply respected by all in earshot of him not only for what he did but the way he did it. Anybody else from that era remember him?

    Respect

I do remember him. Had a ST in the same area.

This is very niche but he was close too to a guy who always said 'Better be nothing trivial ref' every time play was stopped for anything from a slight knock to onfield decapitation.

If you introduce yourself as Gill-ee-an and you pronounce it that way and I say that's a load of pish I'll call you what I want...

Doesn't really give a great impression.

What if I'm called Paul but I want everyone to pronounce it Pah Ull.

I mean the other 83 million Pauls in the world are .. Paul.  But no, I insist on Pah Ull and will expect that to be used.

One thing that really does tilt me is his name isn't Ross Mac-Aye-vor

It's Ross Mac-ee-ver. Good practice to ask a player how to say their name. Although a few stray pronunciations will creep in always.

This kind of pish leads to people called Gillian saying 'actually its Gill-ee-an'

Quite funny though how much the posts correlate to the score.  Winning one nil  and it's n.ot a bad first and Morrison needs to take these  chances.  They score and this has been dreadful and we've created nothing apart from the goal.😂

Thought the first half was alright tbh. We controlled the game mainly albeit against poor opposition.

Seems like we are trying out most of the squad in these games- still think we don't have much idea what tue first choice XI is.

Keeping McGinn another season looks a terrible decision btw . He'll be one of the highest earners and I don't think his legs are there.

    In a friendly.

Would be a fair point if we didn't also play that way throughout a failed league campaign last season

It's natural given how abysmally we finished last season that we are twitchy.

McGlynn has a very short grace period this season even with patient fans. Maybe not even to the end of the LC group stages.

Yeah, that makes sense. A business plan that involves starting the season really badly then use funds to pay off the manager then bring in a new manager to work with the sacked managers players.

Why didn’t anyone else think of that😂.

It would be wrong not to scenario plan for it though.

I'd have though there's a review point in October say where if there's no improvement on last season's garbage we have to empty him.

If you just look at the first half, Airdrie didn't do any better than us in their game.

As we're reminiscing I still remember BPM spluttering with rage when I suggested Airdrie had far more goals in them than us.. about two weeks before they utterly skelped us.

Still feel that out lack of physicality in the middle of the park may come back to haunt us again this season. Really need that bruiser in midfield.

I still think we're very short of creativity. Appreciate that's expensive but we just look pedestrian to me.

Pre season can be very misleading though.
