Todays students will be tomorrows gammons and so the circle of life continues

There seems as much people on the left as the right facing consequences for things they say now, I guess the old advice of "dont tell no c**t nothing" is still safest
-
I think there might even be more people who think that, than ever did

I think thats true to some extent, one person says something and its used as a blanket to say this is what the larger group say when its not. All large groups have varied opinions. The flip side of that is sometimes when its been used in this way it starts to be come a line in sand as people take sides without thinking. Its becoming a never ending cycle of outrage everywhere by everyone , Theres some clear examples of certain newspapers like the Mail being right at the center of it but the sad thing now is all the newspapers are doing it to some extent. I would call it lazy journalism but its not even journalism. The hypocrisy at times of everyone involved is staggering btw I agree about Jerry Sadowitz, ive never seen him be racist though as with anyone im not saying its not possible its happened, but imo people are missing the central point of his act. I was just thinking and laughing remembering one of the few times hes done a TV show. That late night chat show format but with normal punters, sometimes drunk. I think they had to propose some idea and he would respond. Quality show. Think it might have been channel 5 if memory serves me right or maybe channel 4.

Black Friday - financial crash thread
BigDoddyKane replied to ICTChris's topic in The Politics Forum
one of the problems seems to be no one in the Financial/Economy world seems to prepare for a rainy day anymore, it goes back to the 80s and the big bang in london city markets and has continued through Brown selling the gold reserve, the financial crash 2008 and still seems continue even after all the issues faced -
We werent good enough so far this season, it was always going to be a difficult step up. We tested ourselves and so far we havent been good enough, unless miracle happens we will have no european football after Christmas. It going to take another season for the players, the team to improve. Along with buying some better players in key positions and hopefully not losing any of the top players who we cant replace easily. Also Ange needs to learn from it all, hes obviosuly lacking in experience at this level and some decisions this season can be questioned. In saying that though for the length of time hes been here hes still massively improved the club everywhere, I think the vast majority are still committed to and fully backing his vision and way of playing. It was always going to be a longer journey to get some sort of run in europe. We may still surprise this season and somehow qualify for europa but next season hopefully we can improve a lot on where we are. A tough lesson and reality check but thats the way football is and up to us now to get better.

Blindspotting Set in Oakland over a few days. I liked this movie. Its a bit different even if the stories about race and gentrification are familiar. It walks the line on nearly being a bit corny at times but always stays on the right side. Thats down to the acting and performance. Its quality stuff being delivered. I got tne feeling its maybe been a play to some extent before movie was made or some live performance, as it seemed quite polished. Oakland is shown well in it, lots of local stuff it seems is in it location and lines wise. Well worth a watch.

St Johnstone v Celtic
BigDoddyKane replied to Flybhoy's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Not a great performance but the type of late win that gives a big boost.. Haksabanovic looked very good at times. I thought Bernabei was good. I would start playing him instead of Taylor. He will be the better player if he gets games now. Mooy looks to slow for me. We have a lot of squad but a lot not really ready to play and match sharp. One criticism I would have is we should be more prepared for players to step in when needed. -

The Celtic All Seasons thread

Hes always looked a right miserable $&@! Imo, lazy too -
It was a poor performance, with some nice play at times but we haven't stepped up at all so far. It will all come down to the next 2 home games for this season. Pressure is on but good teams step up in these moments. Id be happy with 7 points and 3rd place. Though im not that confident at the moment we will do it.
