  1. Hardly. He’s a youngster still learning and has made a good impact since arriving. Got caught up in the moment today and reacted to a poor decision by the linesman then head was gone. Daft mistake, he’s not the first won’t be the last. We were hopeless with him and were hopeless without him.
  2. Elvis double today between this game and the Scottish Grand National.
  3. Very true but you should take comfort in only having to be on watch when Saints get in the Rangers penalty area. As history shows with the VAR clown today, Saints run the risk of giving away a penalty for a foul made absolutely anywhere on the pitch.
  4. Cracking bet. I saw him win at Kelso earlier in the year and backed him that day but I thought today might have been a stretch too far for him. Strolled home to be fair. Sonigino got me decent enough returns with the place, too far off the leaders to be able to challenge. Not a bad day all in. One off a place pot return however! Resisting all the temptation to be loyal to You Wear It Well again, especially with soft in the ground description. Up against Hermes Allen the only horse to finish ahead of her this season. By the morning I'll likely convince myself the mares allowance makes all the difference this time around and she's the clear winner. Can't split Marie's Rock & Flooring Porter for the Hurdle, will be on both and rev forecast. I think Handsworth is well in for the Handicap chase at 4.15, not been in great form of late but weight is back down to same as when he ran to 2nd at Aintree late last year. I give him a chance, although not proven at the distance. For the National, scattergun approach. I'm on Delta Work, Mr Incredible and Capodanno. Out of those I think Capodanno stands the best chance (hopefully). I won it with Noble Yeats last year, unlikely to happen again IMO.
  5. Sadly 6s was pre-Bravemansgame being pulled out, big rule 4 applied which meant no each way value in it. Ran great again today as well but Shishkin was mightily impressive. I was impressed with Sonigino earlier in the season, will look to back him tomorrow with 16/1 for 7 places on skybet. Likely be on Altobelli for the skybet offer in the 2:55. Gutted that Captain Cattistock didn’t make the cut for the National, thought he stood a great chance if he got there.
  6. Another festival and another punt on Ahoy Senor for me. The only doubt I have for him is the jockey change as Derek Fox is out, doing all he can to remain on board for Corach Rambler in the National. I don’t think Ahoy Senor goes off at the 6/1 he is currently. National being an absolute lottery I am hoping Captain Cattistock sneaks in. Have backed him NRNB 6 places 100/1. Will pick a few extra and throw together some sort of trifecta.
  7. Don’t count your chickens just yet! Alex Rae more than available as of earlier in the week. Will come as a surprise to hear he’s been punted from a managerial role again.
  8. Have to imagine the SFA will appoint Andrew Dallas as referee for this one so as to avoid a repeat of this weekend. The pressure they are putting on the SFA will likely have them rewarded with one of their own.
  9. I think we need at least a point here to keep our top half aspirations in our own hands. We could do without relying on the leagues cannon fodder, like St Johnstone, Motherwell and Dundee Utd, to do us a favour. Can’t see any changes from Saturday apart from maybe a slight temptation for Robinson to put Gallagher back in for Shaughnessy.
  10. I would agree with that entirely. I thought that was Watt's best game for us and he looks a lot fitter. He chased far more yesterday than he has done previously. I thought Dunne got away with a lot of similar fouls which we bemoan Main is usually on the end of. He seemed far more interested in wrestling the full match. No messing about on the ball at least.
  11. Perhaps there is use to come of all this publicity after all. We could use the SMiSA rainy day fund to fund courses for the club board through the Yes Academy to develop that millionaire mindset. The club’s cash flow will grow astronomically.
  12. I’m pretty sweet on Saint Palais tomorrow who’s about 50/1 - 66/1 tomorrow with bookies paying 4 or 5 places. Posted earlier that he could either be brilliant or terrible over hurdles but I’m hoping tomorrow is the day for him. I also like Ahoy Senor at 20s in the Gold Cup. Another horse not to be relied on heavily but when he’s on his game, he’s brilliant.
  13. You wear it well is a wonderful horse. Can’t believe the drift to 16/1, I thought I was getting decent value at 10s when I mentioned her earlier in the week.
  14. I had 1st 2nd 3rd on placepot, tricast paid 65/1. Not a penny on it. At least the placepots are still live.
  15. Bad continues to be chucked in. Sure it was about 33/1 this time last week, down to 15/2 now. Not sure there is too much value in that price given the risk having never raced outside of France and when racing in France it’s been in fields of 3 or 4. Though the more rain and heavier ground the better it would appear. If the weather forecast is as predicted for Thursday and the races before turn the track into a bit of a bog, I will be on You wear it well in the Mares Novices Hurdle.
  16. I went a tad daft with antepost selections last year, saved by Flooring Porter. I’ve got one NRNB selection of Saint Palais at 66/1 in the Albert Bartlett. He’s either terrible or brilliant and Richard Bandey looked to have him back to his best before he fell at the last at Haydock. I’m convinced he would’ve won had he stayed upright, by all accounts no damage done by that fall so at the price can’t refuse. I love Glimpse of Gala and may have a small e/w on her in the Pertemps. I think this might be a stretch too far given the class she’s up against but stranger things have happened and she doesn’t give up. I really liked Fusil Raffles in the Plate but doesn’t seem to have been declared at the 6-day stage.
  17. Monviel and Zhiguli as each way singles for me at Sandown today. I’m hoping both will love the ground as they seem to do, I’m also hoping there are very few non-runners, despite the ground, for the extra places. Zhiguli back down to a similar mark to when he won at Lingfield last year.
  18. Sign of the times sadly. Tote are doing £1m placepot each day, granted it’s quite a bit more difficult but there is the potential for excellent returns for little outlay. They do boosted pots each Saturday which is better than most of the bookies offers these day, unless you’re a new joiner. Bet365 taking away the ITV 4/1 offer last month as well was annoying.
  19. Good news with Carson signing for another season, he’s been great for us this season. I doubt it as he will surely move on to bigger & better things but I would love Strain to be signed up long term. I’d imagine Main might be holding out for one last potential payday elsewhere before agreeing anything with us given his age and form this season.
  20. Jota diving is the real issue, unfortunately as it’s not in the box the weak referee can be conned without any repercussions. I note the hard done by Postecoglou isn’t quick in highlighting that, I’m sure he would be if a Jota dive leads to a penalty award being overturned through VAR.
  21. He was also known as ‘Chilli D’, to those familiar with him, at the time of the rumours. Terrible point, terribly made.
  22. Dreadful by Dunne, he got too comfortable with letting the ball roll across his body instead of leathering at first opportunity. Albeit, he did remarkably well not to leather that wee w**k Kyogo for the patronising pat on the head after he got the red card.
  23. Union Bears taking the result well down Victoria Road way. You’d think they would be used to trudging out of Hampden after a defeat by now and found another coping mechanism.
  24. To think there was such an outcry from **** when people sang during a minutes respect for a woman unconnected to Scottish football. You’d think they’d practice what they preach but then again it’s braindead idiots we are dealing with.
  25. Stuart Atwell trying to be smart early on letting clear bookings for Fernandez and Richarlison go. Only to lose the plot at the end of the half. Never a red, god knows why it took him about 3 minutes to make his decision then run straight to the monitor as soon as the red was out.
