I suspect the fact that our head of recruitment has already quashed these rumours on twitter would suggest it is simply agent talk. Perhaps it may have been something the club might’ve considered until the Goodwillie saga in recent days.

Did giving Crawford a 2 and a half year deal make sense? Did selling McCann and Kerr for 1.8 million make sense? Saints and “make sense” are very far apart right now.

I think it totally depends on how the set up at saints is working. If HoRand Scott Boyd are working on getting players lined up and offered deals etc and they’ve gone to Callum with Ciftci as a target then that is fine.

Agree with what most folk are saying. The window started very promisingly with the signings of Cleary, Gallacher and Ciftci… however the recent quietness and lack of new arrivals is slightly worrying. I guess the fact that we’re bidding for players (and decent sums of money being suggested) should be taken as a positive but I think Callum would’ve hoped to have had at least 2 more in by now from the original or backup targets.

Then Eric Nicholson will jump on the bandwagon and give Callum his support. Repeat over and over again for as long as needed.

Cleary has been a target for months, before we were in such a mess and the chairman spoke about backing the manager in this window. If our other signings are Wighton, Crawford and Hasseilbank… are you happy?

If Hasseilbank’s post is actually cryptic, and he does sign for us… it really makes me question the new Head of Recruitment. In what seemed like a good appointment for the club and one that would help us modernise… we’re still signing ex players, players that Callum knows and players that Gary Rowett knows Surely, just surely… in a window where more funds are getting freed up, we’d have better plans in place than an ex player from 6 ish years ago who’s been a free agent since the summer.

Perhaps if McCart goes, is when we’ll slot back in with a back 4? Then I’m not really sure a centre back signing is necessary. Davidson always said he never intended to play a back 3 at saints so could be the time to revert. Don’t think we really create enough clear cut chances in it. Seems ideal as a counter attacking alternative though.

Apparently tickets for Thursday had temporarily gone on sale via the website with season ticket seats not being reserved. Now appears home tickets can no longer be purchased for United game on Sunday, presume due to the above issue. Lot’s of issues coming out with this new ticketing system.

If, and it’s a big if, we win on Thursday - I reckon we probably need 3 more squad players in. Definitely another centre half, a centre mid and probably another winger.

Do we reckon BBC will show the game again this week?

The club have just allowed season ticket holders in at no additional cost. The demand for remaining tickets is unprecedented. Why would they hand out more freebies? Would make sense for a league game. Try and capitalise on the attendance at this game and encourage them back for a non European game.
