  1. A long game up in Hamburg on Friday night. On top of the current protests (tennis balls and / or sweeties getting thrown on to the pitch) against investors in the DFL, some of the H96 Ultras unfurled a couple of flags depicting H96 club-president Martin Kind with a cross-fire imposed on him. 16 going on 20 minutes added time. Full-house of 57.000 with 5.200 Hannoveraner in the away end. H96 deserved 4-3 winners with Sebastian Ernst scoring his 2nd for the winning goal in the 98th minute. Was Hamburg's 2nd 4-3 defeat at home on the trot, with the defeat costing Hamburg manager Tim Walter his job. Next up for H96 a proverbial 6 pointer on Friday night as they host Greuther Fürth who are a point in front in 4th.
  2. He wants to smile a bit harder and let us get passed the group stages.
  3. Booked for Faro. Direct Eurowings flights from Hannover, over on the Saturday morning, back on the morning after the game. Also booked flights for the Finland game. Dreading to see what the credit card bills will be like at the end of June.
  4. Restart of BL2 with the return fixtures. H96 away to SV Elversberg. Elversberg is just outside Saarbrücken, so out close to the French border. Due to the amount of travel, stayed o/n in Mainz on the Friday (plans to see Mainz - Union Berlin, came to nothing due to freezing conditions forcing it to be called off). Away end was a meccano type thing which you get at the golf with "school assembly" type seats bolted on. Weather conditions were f'n cold, with large amounts of ice and snow everywhere. Off to the best of starts with youngster Nicolo Tresoldi scoring in the 8th minute. Should have been home and hosed at half time, with 3 top chances in the space of 5 minutes just before half-time. The inevitable happened with Elversberg scoring 2 in quick succesion courtesy of shite defending. Tresoldi however got a 2nd to make it 2-2. Another 2 dropped points. Failure to win on Friday against Nuremberg more or less ends any hope of promotion / a play-off spot. A long journey back, eventually getting home at 1 in the morning.
  5. Driving through North-Rhine Westphalia will test your patience a bit. Frankfurt area is also prone to jams, but down to Stuttgart and across to Munich should be OK. Also the German school holidays don't kick in, in any of the regions you'll be driving through, until the 2nd week of July.
