  1. I wish we could play these gormless buffoons every week. Would be horrible to watch of course, but we'd fair rack up the points
  2. While it was good to hear Kettlewell praise us and show us proper respect (he seems loke a very likable and decent bloke by the way), it also means that he'll make sure his team don't underestimate us and think they only have to turn up. He'll have them well prepared for a tough game, I'm sure.
  3. Just on the point that the capacity has been so drastically reduced for safety reasons.... if the home allocation gets sold old and fans resort to buying tickets in the away end, that in itself could be result in a safety issue.
  4. Nah, sorry. Until a few hours ago the fact there was a reduced capacity and there was a real prospect of the home ticket allocation being sold out, was never mentioned. With the home capacity reduced to only 3.700 they should have been well aware days ago that there was a risk of it being a sell-out. The fact that only 800 had been sold by Tuesday or whatever is irrelevant - they should have known and anticipated that a large proportion of the home fans, probably even the majority, would have purchased their ticket on the day or the day before. It's pish poor, and if anyone misses the game because of this, then it will be a crying shame.
  5. Disagree. The capacity restrictions should have been announced days ago, not a few hours before KO
  6. I don't think the turnstiles in the WDE are electronic, are they?
  7. That's only half of it! He also claimed he got a trial for Den Haag at the age of 37, after impressing their boss in a Works league match.
  8. We're really not, you're overlooking the obvious that they're playing at a significantly higher level than us. We're in with a great shout for sure, but labelling us as favourites is foolhardy.
  9. Yup, fair play to him, showing some humility and respect that some Championship managers could do well to learn from
  10. Funnily enough, that thought crossed my mind today as well, and it would be classic Morton to bottle it in front of the biggest home crowd for years. I really can't see that happening though with the current team and form. Here's hoping anyway.
  11. The clubs social media output hyping up the game has been excellent
  12. Wow, it's almost as if Greenock doesn't really have a sub-tropical microclimate after all
  13. I wouldn't worry about that too much, Greenock has its own sub-tropical micro climate
  14. There's also the car park in Sinclair Street, although you might need to get early for a spot if there going to be the predicted crowd
  15. I would say for the majority of Ton fans it's more cautious optimism than confidence. I'm sure most are well aware that while we're on a fantastic run, none of the teams we've played in that run have been at this level*. I hope and think it will be a cracking game, but I'll be surprised if there was more than one goal in it, either way. * Edit to add: with the arguable exception of Dundee United
  16. Hilarious that you're getting a petted lip about so-called 'abuse' being directed towards you, after you posted a vile, expletive laden rant directed at the best manager we've had in decades.
  17. 1991 must have been around about the time you claimed you were personally trained by the world famous Dutch internationalist, Rob Rensenbrink, who played in two World Cup finals. Why on earth would we think you're a fantasist?
  18. Probably the most gutted I've ever been after a Ton game was the cup QF replay in 1991 at Cappielow, when Motherwell won on penalties after a 1-1 draw. First game at Fir Park ended 0-0, if I remember correctly. Game was one of the first to be broadcasted live on Sky TV which was in its very early years. Motherwell went on to win the cup that year, just to rub salt in the wound. I've waited 33 years for this. It's payback time!
  19. It was clearly Holt who was fouling Oakley, not the other way around as claimed by Goodwin and many United fans. Sour grapes. Goodwin and many other managers in the league confuse strength with 'aggression'.
  20. Radio Scotland were also buying into Goodwin's narrative that we're a bunch of hammer throwers, stating to the Ton fan that called in that 'it sounds like you were the piano movers and Dundee United were the piano players', or words to that effect. Neither they nor Goodwin had the grace or decency to acknowledge the first two goals came from some genuine quality in the build-up play. While the 'they're good at what they do' narrative we've been tagged with since Sir Douglas took over is becoming lazy and tiresome, if they continue to focus on our so-called 'aggressiveness' and overlook our quality it surely plays into our hands, as it did yesterday.
  21. Goodwin's claim that Sibbald cleanly won the ball for his second yellow and that Holt was fouled by Gorgeous George before netting the winner are both clearly shown to be utter bullshite.
