  1. It was a strange appointment at the time. The Crwford era was a disappointment and a fresh start was needed.. Gary Naysmith was desperate for the East Fife job, but we went for Greg. Last season we were spinning to the bottom of the league until Scot Agnew joined in January, and then a few decent results ended with us finishing a distant fourth. Agnew moved on and results and performances have not been good enough. The only saving grace this season is that Clyde have been so poor. Hopefully common sense prevails and the Campbell brothers are appointed and backed to turn the club around.
  2. I saw DC and Leishman at a football comedy night in Dunfermline a couple of weeks ago. He is enjoying life. I don’t think he is ready to retire. The previous problem with dispersing with Greig, may have been that there was no obvious replacement. That is no longer the case, and change should be happening now before we miss out.
  3. Crawford was the wrong appointment. Macdonald was the wrong appointment. If McCall can turn Clyde around we are on serious trouble. The Campbell brothers would be a great appointment at this time.
  4. Watching the stream, entertaining enough game on a very heavy pitch. Good camera work, with replays, commentary excellent
  5. I would be very surprised if Annan don’t win this tie. From the games I have seen, they are a far better team than Clyde
  6. They switch the lights off for Friday night televised games
  7. There is no doubt that East Fife have got their pricing badly wrong. They inflated season ticket prices and backtracked to include admission to two friendlies v Lowland Leaigue teams. This then required them to set walk up rates at a ridiculous price to try and make season ticket prices appear reasonable. That said, turn out from both home and Bonnyrigg fans was healthy for first league match at Bayview, although both sets of supporters made their feelings known about the pricing. I think the pricing will really start to bite if the team fails to complete at the upper end of the table and fans drift away with no likelihood that they will ever return. I would not blame any fan for giving Bayview a miss during current economic climate
  8. Fair play, I did the same for Alloa games last season and didn’t bother with the stream because of the ridiculous pricing. Don’t think there will be many PAYG home fans in attendance either. At least the office staff will not be too busy selling tickets to them pesky punters, which is what the social media feed is requesting
  9. IIRC the stadium was funded with a grant from the Football Trust, which was set up to fund stadium improvement after Hillsborough. I suspect at that time criteria of the grant would be for all seater stadia. There is space available for further development if required, but this is even less of a requirement now than ever before.
  10. Kevin Thomson was a massive upgrade on BF and has earned the right to move on to a bigger job. Kelty can get Barry back if they want
  11. Don’t think that is the only problem. Tried my visa debit, and three Mastercards several times with correct card option selected and failed everytime. Lost the tickets as it then said that couldn’t leave single tickets. Selected other tickets, payment still not accepted. Phoned brother in law for his card details, his Visa card failed then his Mastercard worked. Happy to have got tickets in area we wanted, but could have done without the payment shambles
  12. While the conflict may not be resolved by June, the emergency FIFA transfer window allows Ukrainian based players to find other clubs and continue to play. This in theory should allow Ukraine to raise a team, and fulfil the fixture if they choose to, and for National pride I think they would.
  13. It was a horrendous challenge. He came storming in and EF player flicked the ball past him then got wiped out. Was fortunate that player was not seriously injured and able to continue.
  14. The only winner in this is David Goodwillie, who still gets his £1200 a week contract for the next 2 and a half years. Raith shafted, Clyde shafted
  15. Having witnessed the fallout following Goodwillie’s signing for Raith, it is mind boggling that Clyde thought it would be a good idea to take him back. All their Christmas had come at once by offloading him for a hefty transfer fee and wages freed up. It’s not as if results have dropped off since his departure. With or without Goodwillie they were never going to get promoted or relegated. Just seems a needless situation to get into.
  16. Clyde fans at Bayview were chanting “Goodwillie he’s one of our own”, “We want Goodie back” on the Saturday after he signed for Raith. Looks like they have got their wish. On the same day at Starks Park there were reports on here of a banner in support of Goodwillie and strip worn with his name on the back. It would suggest not everyone thinks he is bad news
  17. Draw would have been fair result today. Denholm’s shot off the bar and Wallace lobbing wide of an open goal should have given East Fife a lead which I don’t think Falkirk would have returned from. However non marking at the corner ensured the home win. A terrible refereeing decision for the penalty, but it ultimately didn’t mean anything regarding the outcome. Falkirk fans being pretty realistic that the level of performance will mean a further season in third tier.
  18. The gate receipts from Celtic cup tie will go a long way to paying off Goodwillie. The TV fee covering the transfer fee.
  19. The Celtic money has been spent on the Goodwillie transfer fee
  20. Goodwillie would expect his 2 and a half year contract to be paid up in full to see him through to retirement. After the furore yesterday no other club will employ him again.
  21. Hopefully after success v Ukraine at Hampden, Scotland progress to the final away to Wales or Austria. Does anyone have any knowledge of the logistics of ticketing for the final, given that teams and venues are only known four days earlier. Obviously digital tickets make things easier in terms of delivering tickets, but is there some advance preparations in place for this?
  22. It’s to indicate that in the event of the team at the top of the league going bust, the team in 5th place will move into a playoff place..
  23. It will depend on what was said. The referee in yesterday’s match sent off Chris McKee of Brechin, in last seasons play off match. The player received a four game ban for comments of a homophobic nature.
