Col Donaldson btw - the slagging that guy took last season - they should make a statue of that big b*****d standing on the ball in the second half.

He has been brilliant all season and was my MotM today which seems a strange thing to say when we've just scored 7 goals from 5 different scorers and his CB partner had two assists but his organisation, talking to players through the game and his general leadership as well as the fact he never lost a header or tackle all game.

  2. What a day! Seen us win a few Division 1 titles in my time but today I got to enjoy a day out with my 8 year old son and my father in law watching us stroll towards the title.

I'll openly admit on here that after spending 6 seasons refereeing on saturdays I fell out of love with football for a few seasons and even when I did go to games I couldn't have cared less about the result. My son has now got into football in the last two seasons and I'm loving the time we get together. Hearing him singing Falkirk songs when he wakes up and goes to bed this week, celebrating with him today when the title was confirmed then being on the pitch at the end are things I will remember for the rest of my days.

We've now watched the goals on Alba twice since we got home and seen footage on social media of the players in BTW tonight. A great day to be a Falkirk fan.

Thank you to John McGlynn, Paul Smith, the coaching staff, players and BoD for the direction the club is now heading. The Ultras/Young Team have made a massive difference and deserve a lot of credit, seeing fully grown men - some of whom seemed to be in their 70's - on the pitch singing and celebrating was brilliant and shows the togetherness around the club.

  3. Since we're back on the rotation of goalkeepers debate, this was put up on the BBC website earlier today. It's about Brighton rotating their two keepers this year but has similarities to our situation.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68657908

For what it's worth, like most people I'm not a fan of the monthly rotation either and wish we could just pick one and stick with him until he either gets injured, sent off or loses stupid goals through mistakes regularly. Every time there's a rotation, whoever comes in looks a bit rusty to start with, loses some silly goals, plays themselves into a bit of form and then drops out again. Long made the mistake v Annan in his first game back and has now played himself into a bit of form. He could have a blinder tomorrow but come next week will be on the bench again.

If that's all we have to complain about this season then I'll take it

This guy, the Alba football presenter was at the Edinburgh game.  He was standing pitch side of the advertising hoarding in front of the KM stand on the right, wearing a press bib for some of the second half.

Makes me think the camera on the scaffolding was Alba.

    image.png.7fbf55981488e3c6cb3837e135de264a.png

It was Alba's scaffolding. It's been there since the TNS semi final presumably to save dismantling to have to put it back up again for the final. Would imagine it will stay until after the Cove game on 6th April. Sky had a camera and camera operator using it on Saturday. Would imagine if the Alba reporter was there on Saturday he'll have been preparing for Sunday or filming/interviewing somebody from our side for a piece for a future game.

As much as Morrison takes the headlines for the goals, Coll Donaldson has played every single game this season and has been monumental in keeping the unbeaten run going especially thinking of that penalty he won at Edinburgh.

    Captain Coll for me.

I agree. Every minute of every game as far as I'm aware. And for a centre half, he's barely picked up a yellow card.

Morrison can end up top scorer in the team, league and whole of SPFL. No brainer for me. I feel we are in the position we are just now because of good we are in attack rather than how good we defend. Which is not a slight on how good we defend by any means. With 6 games to go we have already scored 12 more than dunfermline managed all last season.

Strikers win you games of football, defences win you leagues

  6. Managed to get a Dr's appointment booked today for 9am on Tuesday. Speaking to my other half's mum, she asked if I'd got an appointment and once I'd confirmed that I had indeed managed that really difficult task, told her the where and when only to be met with the reply of "you'll need to leave the house early on tuesday".

    No f*ckin shit!

A (paraphrased) comment that has gone under the radar, seemingly, on a Falkirk Daft podcast from a few weeks ago was that Yeats is being coveted by a calibre of team we'd be surprised by.

I took that to be one or both of the ugly sisters or even Liverpool at a stretch with their recent track record of scouting Scottish talent 👀

    Stranger moves have happened.

St Johnstone was the club I heard but we could be playing them in the championship next season anyway.

  8. I have been to every Falkirk home game this season as well as a number of Lowland League and East of Scotland games. Obviously there were the usual stoppages in the games for injuries, goals, substitutions but at no point was there a delay for a reason nobody couldn't see or know why.

I've seen a few Scottish Premiership and Serie A games on TV this year and I don't think there's been one where there hasn't been a stoppage for a VAR check. At least those watching on TV know why and what is being checked, doesn't seem to be the same consideration given to fans in the stadium who have paid good money.

Would a one round of top tier fixtures organised boycott of fans get any support? Those fans could head along to lower or non league games that day. You can get entry, a drink and some food for less than the price of entry to a top tier game!

Wow, so many 'experts' on the Foundation on here.  I jest of course.  I've never read so much pish in all my life.  Perhaps you've forgotten the mistakes the club made previously when they were scrambling around for cash?  Canavan quits top job with Bairns' charity (falkirkherald.co.uk)

You seem to have forgotten how they treated Sarah and the Junior Bairns for well over a decade too.

Perhaps start questioning why the Board would attack a charity that exists to essentially recruit the next generations of Bairns players and supporters.  Numerous Board members have made ridiculous errors in judgement in the last few years.  That's a statement not a question.

You're lashing out at the wrong people.  The failings are elsewhere, even if they are your mates.  It's a pity the FSS are so very quiet about this seeing as they're meant to be the voice of the fans on the Board. 🐑 Baaaa.

I see you didn't actually bother to read my post. You also have no clue what the Foundation exists to achieve. How many have come through the Academy whose job it literally is by the way?

On 17/03/2024 at 12:42, SPLwankwankwank said:

That Academy died when it became a clique and when the Board in that era made another crap decision to scrap it. The Foundation is about many things which includes getting kids playing football, getting them off the streets and allowing them to make friends and have experiences they might never have. Clearly this upsets the Board. Clowns.

Go and watch the Inchyra video. Gordon Wright and Jamie Swinney are literally sat there. They all agreed to come out swinging at their own fans that night and now they're swinging punches at a charity. How professional. They must make you feel proud.

On 17/03/2024 at 13:03, SPLwankwankwank said:

But you're fine with them attacking a charity that has consistently preformed well not just this season? How very weird.

Another one not actually reading about the work of the Foundation. Sigh.

The Club has managed to create plenty of debacles of its own. There's much more to that team being shut down and you know it.

    23 hours ago, SPLwankwankwank said:

That team folded for various reasons. Since then they created an U16 Pro-Performance team, an U18 team and two recreational ladies teams. It would've been nice for the FSS and Club to fanfare that eh? They didn't. Also, despite the Foundation existing for development purposes (giving everyone of any ability a chance) a number of players have gone on to the Academy. Again, I'll wait for that big announcement from the FSS and Club.

Strange though eh? Piling into the Foundation pages ago is fine. Standing up for them is bad. Who has the agenda? It's not me. I simply pointed out the good work they do and how respective Club Boards, which included current members, haven't done so well.

He's obviously got a link to the foundation one way or the other and is a bit put out by any criticism that comes it's way. He's trawled through this page for the first time in a while and discovered it after we've all moved on to discussing other things and so had to bring it all back up again.

18 posts quoted, 15 of those from the same person who @Rugstersays hasn't posted in 17 years bar once in 2023 and @Shodwall catsays obviously has a link to the Foundation. I'm sure he has no agenda whatsoever by randomly reraising stuff from weeks ago 🤔

  11. I've seen the clip now. No question there are faults on both sides. Scullion doesn't need to go over and argue with the fans, a simple GIRUY gesture would have wound the fans up and avoided the whole thing.

But that doesn't excuse the fan from spitting at Scullion. Technically he has been assaulted in his workplace. He doesn't have to spit back, he wasn't under any threat, can't argue 'self defence' and should have reported the spitting to Bonnyrigg officials.

Had Scullion spat at another player, he would have been sent off and banned for 3 games. Not sure how the SFA and Clyde will deal with this but there have to be repercussions for all involved.

Think it’s been mentioned, great first 25 and should have been out of sight. Credit to QS they had a couple of chances that just needed finishing. Todd’s wonder goal brought a different dimension. Need to see if it got a wicked deflection. Wake up call and some great play to see us comfortably home. Special next few games coming up.

Todd's goal took a big deflection off Hendo, Long was helpless after that

I'd also like to see the equaliser again.  He seemed offside then, but one was given against Falkirk on the other side a bit later after a lovely move , that looked comfortably onside.

The assistant ref was closer to your goal than your defence in the build up to the equaliser and in no position to call that correctly.

We’ll carry on lying to yourself. Who am I to stop you.

What reason does Morrison have to go down in that situation? He has cut back onto his left foot and can either lay it off or swivel and shoot for himself.

The lack of Queens protest says it was a penalty. Usually if a player has dived there are words said, fingers pointed. There was none of that

Just having a wee swatch at the tickets for the Alloa game and the Main Stand is pretty much sold out already  apart from block G lower and H.

Hopefully get a similar crowd in as the Hamilton game + another 1k or so Bairns in the North Stand

There's usually a game where all the community teams get to go to and do a walk around the pitch at half time. I haven't looked at what's been sold yet but could Block H be getting kept for the community teams?

Stokes jailed. No shock there, been coming for a while.

Interesting, I hope BBC Alba put the cameras in the dressing room à la Darvel and we get Bartley in the centre giving a Braveheart speech with names like 'RC55FFC reg plate said they are going to win the league, Sputnik thinks I'm a sh*te manager etc.'

'Their manager or players didn't say anything, but let's show these usernames we don't deserve to be 42 points behind them, & that 65 goal difference between us can be overturned,  get intae thum!

Really living up to your username there! 😄

On another note I didn't realise that the south stand had already sold out for the Alloa game (in 2 months time!) so I got on this afternoon and bought 3 tickets for the main stand - looks like they are going fast too as I couldn't get any of the tickets in the seats I normally buy and had to settle for elsewhere. What a time to be alive...

I had to do the same thing. Been in the KM stand all season but had to buy tickets for the family section of the main stand to keep my son close to the singing section.

On a related point, does anybody know if u12 season tickets can be bought for the KM stand? Couldn't see anything about this for this season but I'd love to get one for my son for next season when I go for my own
