Ned Doig With Scotland on the cusp of qualification for Euro 24 let’s have a look at Arbroath’s first ever full internationalist. John Edward Doig (better known as Ned) represented Scotland on 6 occasions, 2 of which occurred when he was on the books at Gayfield. The Goalkeeper made his international debut against Ireland in 1887. Ned was inducted into the Arbroath FC Hall of Fame in 2015. TASC SOCIAL MEDIA MAN OF THE MATCH - RESULT Congratulations to Joao Balde on winning the 1st TASC Social Media Man of the Match of the 2023/24 season for his performance in our Lichties penalty shootout victory over Cowdenbeath. Last seasons TASC new signing of the season award winner was superb when introduced in the 2nd half and nearly won us the game when hitting the bar after a scintillating mazy through the cowden defence.

It was a terrific evening. Bobby was at his engaging best and answered every question put to him. Spoke from the heart as well. Also stayed behind and signed everything out in front of him and posed for numerous photos. We had a minority of supporters moaning that it should have been open to all supporters and not just TASC members but we felt this was a special thank you event for not only Bobby but our incredible members who have supported the club through the difficult 2022/23 season. There needs to be some special privileges for our members to have. We opened membership for 2023/24 season yesterday and already have had a very good uptake. Including our newest member, a lad by the name of Robert Linn from the Dundee area.

THANK YOU With the season now finished TASC would like to say a few thank you’s Firstly we would like to thank Fisher Tours for supplying the buses to transport supporters all over this country. We went as north as Inverness and as south as Greenock in comfort on Fisher Tours wonderful fleet of buses. Thank you to the Drivers as well for getting supporters to and from games safely. We would also like to thank Carol and the Tutties staff for their hospitality throughout the season. Whether it was opening the pub early to keep the supporters warm before the bus arrived or by hosting the bingo night fundraiser and TASC awards, Carol has made sure TASC members of all ages have been looked after. Finally TASC would like to thank the incredible Lichtie supporters who used our buses this season. Whether you were 1 of the 188 members or a non member thank you for not only your support of TASC but your unwavering support of Arbroath FC through what was a difficult season. We transported over 1100 supporters of all ages to 21 Lichtie away games this season. Without the supporters there simply wouldn’t be a football club. We hope to see you all again for the 2023/24 season
