  1. Neville could be going heads gone again here.
  2. Who gives a f**k? We’ll all be watching the ESL on TV anyway. Custom designed for a pandemic.
  3. That was news 12 hours ago on SkySports.
  4. Having thought about it It doesn’t really matter which clubs they get to fill the remaining spaces. Ajax for example are a big name and if you gave them the finances they’d fit into the ESL. You wouldn’t get a huge TV audience in Holland but I guess the ESL won’t actually care about that.
  5. Amazon will be well aware how much potential cash is in sports broadcasting. They’re already in it and I’d fully expect them to be the main broadcaster. They have more money than any of the others to buy the rights but it’s you and I that will end up paying for it in the end.
  6. None of them are allowed in. No TV audience or revenue. It doesn’t mean Porto are a non-entity though. Ajax likely won’t get in for the same reason and they’re an undisputed european football great.
  7. I think the point is the founders can’t be relegated.
  8. Non-entity of a club that have actually won the champions league. More than can be said for Arsenal, Spurs or Man City. Even PSG or Leipzig if the jump on board with this.
  9. Rangers were major players in the champions league being created weren’t they? See what they c***s have started.
  10. Newcastle? The game really is a bogey if true.
  11. The womens clubs signing up for this better watch out then.
  12. So basically the 12 founding clubs have been bribed with almost €300m each to form this league by a consortium thats tapped up a US investment bank for $6bn is what I’m reading.
  13. Billy Gilmour went from Rangers to Chelsea no?
  14. I didn’t say they’d stop it. I said they’d stop it acting as a cartel which you claimed they would do.
  15. Each of the big 6 in England have had periods of being nothing clubs either during or shortly before the champions league era. Would Spurs or Chelsea have featured at that time?
  16. It wasn’t about the OS and Microsoft isn’t the dominant player in the areas the EU booted them about. I’m not going to get into a discussion about EU antitrust on a football forum especially with someone that has no knowledge of the topic.
  17. Did this not happen at about the same time the Premier League was formed down south at the behest of BSkyB or whatever it was called back then? Not sure which event was worse for football tbh.
  18. You keep thinking this is America. It isn’t. There was nothing stopping people writing software to rival Microsofts. No-one did but the European courts still booted them all round the continent and forced them to change their operating model.
  19. You’ve now constructed a contradictory argument. You said they’ll operate as a cartel by all holding the same line but admit they can’t operate as a cartel as it would be illegal. Which is it then?
  20. So it’s a cartel then. How silly of me. Of course they’ll be able to do all those things then. https://ec.europa.eu/competition/cartels/overview/index_en.html
  21. The idea they’ll all hold the same line is laughable. This is not American sport.
  22. Its a totally different concept from football. As I’ve said agents will be awake to this and ensure players their own wages are protected.
  23. Once a player is drafted they’re tied to that club for years and can’t renegotiate their contract. That allows clubs to keep players on artificially low salaries for a period. It’s only later in their careers they gain free agency. They can’t force trades in the way footballers can break contracts and be transferred.
