  1. While my initial post was meant to be a flippant quip, but I respectfully disagree with all of this. Football is tied to the past - it’s nostalgia driven. That’s why at the 150 celebrations we talked about being the first club to do X,Y and Z. We had a throwback kit. Fans talk about promotion seasons of the past. Celtic fans go on about 67 and England trumpet 66 every time there is a major tournament etc, etc. The world is changing heaven knows it’s changed massively in the last 18 months, however, to compare the plight of minorities and their fight for parity to criticising a player is stretch and a half. Having a go at player isn’t a hate crime. An absurd dichotomy. As for employers shouting at their staff? In the comparison doesn’t fit as pointed out by Zenetti. The fact people swear at football and even in society !!! Mary Whitehouse must surely be spinning in her grave. The SFA should maybe consider moving matches to after 9pm so folk can drop the odd cuss without upsetting anyone. We should alternatively take lead from cousins across the pond and use some of these great chants instead; In all seriousness: The consensus is the McHugh was poor on Tuesday and that was before he sent the penalty over the bar to greet Jeff Bezzo in space . While it’s not my style, frustrations from the terraces can boil over . Next time he steps on the pitch wearing the hoops, I’m sure same fans that criticised him will be hoping he has a better game and will celebrate he scores . Football is fickle.
  2. It’s great to back at the football! In the two weeks we have been back in stadia, we’ve had people disapproving of songs with swearing and now we’ve got folk criticising other fans for expressing an opinion at a match. A football match isn’t the last night at the Proms for goodness sake .
  3. Can’t believe how well we played last night - on another night Queen’s could have won by two or three. Liam Brown, a signing I was I was initially underwhelmed with , was faultless. Looks like a great acquisition. Fantastic to have some fans back in stadium. Though we should have ticketing sorted weeks ago, kudos to the volunteers who worked hard over the last few days phoning supporters to offer them tickets for the game. Dempster on the tele talking about the ‘journey’ yesterday - without the frantic paddling from the club over the last few days with the help from volunteers, many of our support would have been left in the car park.
  4. Hope the bar is open when we finally have an AGM - I’ll take a shot each time someone from the club say ‘Challenging’.
  5. The appointment of Ellis has made McKinnon’s departure from all the more curious. Was McKinnon relived of his duties as head coach by whoever makes such decision at QP now or did he walk? If he was relived of his duties, I personally feel it’s naive to believe that Ellis was the clubs first choice. With all the speculation on this board alone - Ellis is a underwhelming appointment . I of course wish him all success next season, and if the club continues an upward trajectory, it will prove to be a shrewd appointment. Perhaps a DoF is part of Dempsters new exciting model. Nice of her to acknowledge on Twitter today her communication with the fans has so far been pish poor. Bring on next season!
  6. When MM was appointed at the SFA, Show Racism the Red Card said MM had undergone equality and diversity training, and "wished him well”. Despite I do still feel it would be a PR disaster is MM was appointed - such accusations are hard to brush off - not matter how much training one under goes. Footballing wise, he’s not managed a club since his stint at Wigan some half a decade ago. MM has been out the game too long and of not for his past links to the club, I doubt we’d be having this discussion at all. There’s surely better options out there ? Hopefully our canny CEO has drawn up a more imaginative shortlist than an alleged racist and her pal from Hibs. Stephen Robinson, Stuart Kettlewell and John Kennedy all come to mind.
  7. Appointing MM would be a footballing and PR disaster for the club. No imagination and it reeks of ‘jobs for the boys’. He’s been out of coaching for too long. Also, with his ‘problematic’ in past in mind, I can only imagine how the MSM will report the appointment: ‘Queen’s Park Scotland’s, oldest team, where club captains armband says Führer (I know it says Spielführer but the tabloids wont care) , have appointed Malky Mackay an alleged racist, homophobe and misogynist as their manager.’ It should be a non stater. What’s next Jim Davidson as the stadium announcer at Lesser?
  8. Like Scottish Labour, Queens Park are now held to ransom by a fridge Tycoon . He can pull his funding anytime and leave us a financial wilderness. What he says goes at all levels. Rumour has it he wasn’t happy with the cup performances: is this why Ray has left? The Club urgently needs to have a dialogue supporters a: updating what is going on off the pitch. Winning the league at canter has been fantastic, but off the field is akin to Faulty Towers. No up date on Lesser, Dempster courting the media hinting at an agreement for temporary home and now the manager leaving. Shambles! On the manager: Malky Mackay should be nowhere near the job. accusations of homophobia, racism and sexism have ended his career as a manager. His links to the club are irrelevant. Stubbs is the early favourite due to his cozy relation with Dempster: though he’d be an underwhelming appointment. At least Neil Lennon won’t be in the frame after his skirmish with Dempster at Hibs. Kettlewell would be my preference and a fans favourite choice. An extraordinary season, during extraordinary times, continues to be nothing short of extraordinary
  9. Quinno leaving with so even a post on social media is nothing short of a disgrace . He’s a club legend. While I welcome professionalism and opportunities I present on the pitch, I can’t help but worry our club is losing its soul a little. The president urgently needs to step forward and engage with the fans. Looking forward to talking about some football tomorrow
  10. Having written to the Club, I understand they hope to issue a newsletter addressing some of these concerns in the near future...
  11. I’m not sure if it was tendered? Could be wrong, but I think the work was directly awarded to the contractors?
  12. Very concerned about the lack of communication from The Club to its members and supporters. I’d like some clarification on the role Leeann Dempster plays at our club. I understand she is the chief executive, but who does she report to? Does she report to the committee or straight to Willie Haughey? If she reports to Haughey, what role does the committee, who are voted for by the club members play? Members also need an urgent update on the redevelopment of Lesser . The lack of communication from The Club has left a vacuum for gossip and rumour amongst the support. No work has been allegedly carried in months ? The contractors have been packing up. While I understand elements of this may be commercially sensitive, our support does not walk a about blindfolded. We can see no work has been undertaken in some time and the contractors appear to be moving their plant off site. Some communication would help alleviate the real concerns of fans and dispel the rumours I feel.
  13. Have you given the the club your email address? They might have emailed them?
  14. Anyone know the situation with the office opening hours? I thought it was open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10.00am to 4pm. Tried on serval occasions on Friday to get through on the phone with no joy and can’t get through again today. Keeps going straight to answering machine. Want to update my address / give them my email address (again), so I can get my log in details for Saturday.
  15. £30 spent streaming and not seen us score isn’t good innings .
