  1. Watching the monza bit now. The sky pundits have definitely moved towards the Verstappen side of things which wasnt the case at the time. Anyone with a deep analysis of the season knows Hamilton was supremely lucky to even be in with a shout at the end of the year.
  2. I don't have a massive issue with the auctions tbh. Selling a couple of dusty old whisky bottles from a bulging collection a few years down the line for a tidy earner is fine in my book. There's plenty of idiot flippers who are losing money selling stuff to the likes of me for £20-30 under RRP after fees The guys who are borderline professional sellers with zero interest in the actual joy of drinking the stuff are the ones to watch. I've got a couple of decent bottles I've picked up over the years tucked away, no real idea of what/when would cause me to reach for one. Maybe a place in the WC finals might be one of those moments.
  3. Sad wee men imo. At least 65-70% of these guys are flippers easily. Fair play if you get one online, thats where I draw the line. Barely worth it at it is. Thankfully your 10yo, Longrow peated, Campbeltown loch bottles aren't being too heavily fought over..... Yet.
  4. Haha. I'm waiting on my missus taking the weans for similar. Will give you a shout when I've got an empty
  5. Can still get the Blend here mate £38. https://www.drambusters.com/item/491/BlendedDeluxeScotchWhisky/CAMPBELTOWN-LOCH-BLENDED-MALT-SCOTCH-WHISKY-46-70CL.html
  6. Crazy Springbank time again. Anyone had any luck? Got a Campbeltown Loch in the post, looking forward to it.
  7. My fixed deal runs until April then onto the energy cap. I'm normally happy to let my DD credit build up for an occasional "payday" once a year. Will be using this to offset the rest of this year. Would be money I'd normally treat the family with. Expect these prices to the end of 2023 minimum. The way the price cap is calculated, it'll take a long time to flush out the high prices we see just now. Similar to how coefficients work for the football rankings.
  8. 100% I genuinely loved him for the first few years but he went down in my estimations rapidly. He may be a multiple champion but he comes across like a compete dumbass most of the time. Too long spent on instagram and saying meaningless phrases like "positive energy" thinking he's so profound. I cannot wait for him to lose again this year. Will be absolutely glorious.
  9. Vettel again reminding us how cool a guy he is.
  10. He's a sad wee man tbh. Alienates himself by acting like a total gimp then sees it as something it really isnt.
  11. Amazon deal on Deanston 18yo. 10% off first subscription order Set up subscribe & save (and cancel after delivery has been made). Got mine for £43.74 but seeing others with a few quid either side of that.
  12. No, was an 11yo indy bottling but its a fantastic spirit.
  13. I've had a Linkwood that was nearly like Vodka in appearance. Was one of the tastiest drams I've ever had. Had it quite early on in my whisky years so definitely debunked the myth like you say.
  14. The more Ardnamurchan I try, the more excited I get by them. Nearly through a bottle of 07.21:05 (belive this means July 2021, release 5). The QR code on the bottle tells you a lot about Fermentation, cut points, cask make up etc. Really detailed. Its calmed down now with the flippers and bottles are still freely available. Highly recommended folks. The tasting notes on the whisky exchange are absolutely bang on.
  15. I think its one of these bottles that starts slow but ends on a high. Cannot be judged by the neck pour for sure.
  16. Bahrain have just been handed a contract until 2036
  17. Sorry to read this man. I watched my dad go through similar (with my grandparents) over a few years. Similar to the making breakfast thing.... My gran went to plate up the food for us in the kitchen and did it perfectly (minus any plates). Was that telling moment for my dad and affected him badly.. My only advice is remember to take care of yourself as much as you are doing for others. Your other half sounds like a good support, its good to let it out once in a while. Keeping the mask on for the kids is tough. Fair play to you.
  18. I can't see any scenario where a dedicated ground is a reality sadly.
  19. Hope everyone is doing well. Small update from me. Wee one still in ICU but doing well. We might even get home soon but thats secondary to her progress. Easy to feel down but there's plenty of parents either side of us who would swap seats with us. Some real heartbreaking stuff you see people going through. Life just trundles on work wise etc, a bizarre existence. Nearly 3 months in here. The staff are amazing, anyone from the Surgeons to the cleaner who knows us by name and comes to say Hi. God bless them all.
  20. Can't say I have. Some of the 'export' brands have the most random names. Particularly to USA/Asia
  21. Picked up a tobermory 12yo. been a while since I've had it and genuinely wondering why I've waited. Nectar.
  22. Anyone watch any Whisky Youtube channels? Ralfy is the obvious one, for the most part its quite informative and enjoyable. His springbank 7 parter is class. Some of the others are decent but there's loads of big spending guys (whisky and cameras) who just talk total sh!te. Others are bordering on disturbing, going into shops and videoing all the booze on the shelves etc
