  1. Think 1-1 is fair at half time. Both teams have had their half-chances and not really converted them particularly well. Sneddon totally sold the jerseys for Watson’s goal and similarly McCabe tried to step out to play offside then totally stopped which is elementary stuff. Good match so far. Hopefully the second half keeps an edge.
  2. The official news item on the club website only states “Player-manager Rhys McCabe and player-assistant manager Callum Fordyce remain contracted to the club for season 2023/24”, which is what gives me the fear.
  3. I see a few clubs are acting now and giving managers new deals, for me I still think that the most important bit of business we can do this month is tying down Rhys & Dycey to another year or two’s deal.
  4. Seen a few posts on Twitter about Rhys McCabe’s progression… hopefully that isn’t the start of Jackie Mc starting to pitch him around the place for other jobs.
  5. Hibs took 3,000 to Forfar on Saturday. Airdrie is less than an hour away & has a direct train line so I’d think Hearts bring 4-5k. If we can get around the 2.5k mark then I don’t think that’ll be far off.
  6. Hoping for a good draw tonight but knowing fine well it’ll be Greenock Morton (a)
  7. Estrella Galicia is my absolute go to when available, complete with new glassware. Now sample-able in a number of establishments throughout Edinburgh. It does annoy me when you see folk drinking that absolute spiceboy fuel (Madri, Mahou, Cruzcampo) when this is on tap also.
  8. Thought we kept Thistle at arms length in the first meeting of the season at the Shyberry, hoping for same again on our patch. Both teams off the back of good cup results will be looking to consolidate their position in the league. Three points for us and I think we can start to believe that we’ll be staying in the division, three points for the Jags just takes them that bit further away from us too. I for one will be going for a quiet pint of the best Tennents lager in Airdrie at the West End pre match. Think Scott and his team deserve all the support we can give them.
  9. Cammy Kerr maybe… but Rudden is another Todorov, and he is sound just fine at the moment. Can guess one or both will end up at Dunfermline.
  10. Serious question…. When was the last time we reached the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup? In recent memory I can remember drawing Celtic & Hearts in the fourth round but never surpassing that?
  11. I take it all back. Will be good to scud you’s again in the playoffs. Battered on and off the pitch.
  12. What’s more annoying/embarrassing in this is that the West End is a good Airdrie pub owned by an Airdrie fan, with supporters busses often ran from the pub. Just shows how brainless these clowns are.
  13. Wee Frizzell taking the piss here today. All that’s missing is an Airdrie goal.
  14. ATS hasn’t been a named sub for weeks, so I’d imagine Rhys slips into centre half and McMaster comes in to holding midfield.
  15. Flooding from Martindale’s tears after comparing balance sheets.
  16. David “I don’t have the budget” Martindale has you covered there I reckon.
  17. The patter in this thread makes me not want to win the play-offs this year.
  18. Ended up watching the Open Goal interview with Ian Murray as I was struggling to sleep, it’s amazing how Raith have let him have so much more freedom with the media (and club media) so much more than it seemed he had with us. Don’t get me wrong he always spoke reasonably well in the pre & post match snippets but I always thought he was a bit of a quiet guy happy not to be in the spotlight. 18 months later and he can’t be kept quiet!
  19. At this point surely EK, Kennedy & Co have to be brought in to the sportswashing conversation? Are they backed by a murderous dictator?
  20. Generally think what you’ve posted in this thread has been absolute toilet but this is actually a salient point. Rhys has shown promise with us, that’s all. He has got us out of League One after a decade of toil and in both seasons so far he’s had tough runs and had to go back to the drawing board to tinker with system and styles, and he’s the better for it. But his stock will only really hold water if he keeps us in the division this term. Then (and when he has the appropriate coaching qualifications) he will be a candidate to take a step up in his career.
  21. Looking forward to this one as a nice distraction from league business. St Johnstone will come down the road as favourites but as posters above have said we’ve given Prem teams a wee shock at our ground recently and our Cup form this season has been grand. Hopefully we hang on to Megwa for a week longer to give us the best chance of a Cupset… going to say it’ll be tight and end up 1-0 either way.
  22. You would hope, but seeing as Megwa is cup tied for the Scottish Cup anyway it gives them another weeks’ thinking time.
