  1. Heard that PH put a £6million bid in for Shankland on Sunday night, and £10million for Miovski.
  2. Not necessarily. Heard from quite early on last season that there were a number of Airdrie players who wouldn’t be kept on if we went up, but would be offered new terms if we stayed in League One.
  3. A venerable stance on B-teams but I think the whole faux outrage over using the middle section for hospitality is a bit daft - but maybe that’s because we managed to get our usual seats. I also assume that it was a police decision to close the car parks after the broadcaster claimed their part for trucks and production vehicles and the polis decided what part of the car park they wanted for their wagons, by the time you include players, officials and disabled spaces there wouldn’t be much space left for anyone else. As I said previously it’s been a long time since there’s been a match of this magnitude at the Shyberry, possibly since Rangers were in League One with us? But if we continue on an upward trend there’s going to be some bed wetting when this happens six or eight times a season. ETA: need to remember the amount of income that the club are making from this cup run could be enough to sustain us in the Championship a bit longer or push us on that bit more to bigger things. Worth the pain of 90 minutes in a different seat, I’d think.
  4. I know merch prices have been daft for years but I was just about to buy a new Williams t-shirt, added to cart and hit pay… was just doing the verification thing via the bank app and find that they’ve added £10 on top of the displayed price “tax”. So to keep the t-shirt under £50 they’re displaying a price excluding VAT which is a bit naughty.
  5. I’m fortunate enough that I’m only a 10 minute walk from the ground but I did see the seethe about the car parking and have a bit of a chuckle. It’s very small time to be annoyed about such a thing. Just imagine how it’ll be when Rhys McCabe has us qualifying for the group stage of the Champions League and Real Madrid are coming to town… probably be the same ones moaning about allocated seating and not being able to pay £3 for the car park.
  6. Few sources on Twitter suggesting that Horner & Newey have a mutual clause in their contracts so if one goes, they both go. Also seen a few suggestions of Newey popping up at Ferrari in 2025.
  7. FWIW I think Ayr’s new “stand” looks pretty rubbish tbh. Losing what I remember to be a big chunk of reasonably iconic terracing at Somerset and replacing it with hospitality space. One step towards the Lego-fication of Somerset Park, I’m afraid.
  8. I hope the Dunfermline game is rescheduled reasonably soon. They look an absolute rabble at the moment.
  9. This is a great analysis and probably won’t be far off the final mark. I had reasonably assumed that around the 35 point mark would mean safety, but such is the competitiveness/shiteness of the gabble below 4th shows that above 40 points needs to be the target.
  10. See what happens when the groundsman doesn’t leave the water running.
  11. Has there been anything confirmed about the location of the final? Have seen the Falkirk Stadium mentioned a few times?
  12. Mentioned on the Terrace Podcast by McGuigan that this is Raith’s longest losing run since 2009? Given the investment in the ground & backing of the manager, at what point does Agent Ian Murray’s position come under scrutiny?
  13. This is a fantastic point and one that I think is so often lost. In my 25 years as an Airdrie fan I can’t really remember a time when we were competitive in this Division, yet we have fans not happy because we’ve fallen out of fourth place in the table. The flip side of us being competitive in this league is that I can’t remember a time when this league was so competitive. It’s been said before but a run of two or three poor results can drag us right back in to the myre again, but if we were to win these two we’ll be well on the road to guaranteed safety. In my mind I was thinking that ~32 points would be the mark to stay up, but seeing how things are set I think realistically we need to be looking at ~38-40 now. It’s all very well set up for an exciting second half of the campaign.
  14. Think 1-1 is fair at half time. Both teams have had their half-chances and not really converted them particularly well. Sneddon totally sold the jerseys for Watson’s goal and similarly McCabe tried to step out to play offside then totally stopped which is elementary stuff. Good match so far. Hopefully the second half keeps an edge.
  15. The official news item on the club website only states “Player-manager Rhys McCabe and player-assistant manager Callum Fordyce remain contracted to the club for season 2023/24”, which is what gives me the fear.
  16. I see a few clubs are acting now and giving managers new deals, for me I still think that the most important bit of business we can do this month is tying down Rhys & Dycey to another year or two’s deal.
  17. Seen a few posts on Twitter about Rhys McCabe’s progression… hopefully that isn’t the start of Jackie Mc starting to pitch him around the place for other jobs.
  18. Hibs took 3,000 to Forfar on Saturday. Airdrie is less than an hour away & has a direct train line so I’d think Hearts bring 4-5k. If we can get around the 2.5k mark then I don’t think that’ll be far off.
  19. Hoping for a good draw tonight but knowing fine well it’ll be Greenock Morton (a)
  20. Estrella Galicia is my absolute go to when available, complete with new glassware. Now sample-able in a number of establishments throughout Edinburgh. It does annoy me when you see folk drinking that absolute spiceboy fuel (Madri, Mahou, Cruzcampo) when this is on tap also.
