  1. That tackle could have been a straight red St Johnstone will still win
  2. Hibs dominating and unable to score, this is finishing 1-0 St Johnstone, lump on
  3. Sounds like a good laugh tbh. Probs a comedown from Sunday but this is very bland…although Hanlon should have scored there.
  4. Pretty much all of this came to fruition except the kick off time which was actually alright.
  5. Last time I read this thread it was on 2 pages wtf happened, I will read them in the morning when I’m sober. Honestly the day was a really unique day, this season has been really weird, I spent the whole of last season desperate to get back to Hibs games and then when it happened honestly I felt so apathetic towards it, I felt more watching Scotland than I did watching Hibs for the first time in my life and as much as I love watching Scotland it was never the same as watching Hibs, it just never felt right. And all week folk at work asking me “are you going on Sunday” I would reply “aye mate, wouldn’t miss Hibs at Hampden but I’m dreading it.” From nowhere I woke up this morning absolutely adamant we’d win, no idea where it came from I was just convinced and I’m generally not that kind of guy, just look at my posts in the Scottish cup final in may if you want proof of that. As much as I thought we’d win I never thought it’d be like that, 3-0 up after half an hour man, Martin Boyle must feel like Gareth Bale does when he plays for Wales. Honestly the most important thing to say about today was that I had to convince my best mate and my dad to come along today, neither were keen but I basically bought them tickets and told them they were due me money and they were coming, to be able to celebrate that with them today, after everything in the past 18 months, that, I tell you pie and bovril, is right up there. I’m sat now, more than tipsy in my mrs flat waiting for her to come home posting sharing my feelings on pie and bovril and you know what? Life is alright!
  6. Aw man, that was utterly delightful. The hangover in work right now is 100% worth it and so was spending my lunch reading 53 wonderful pages. I honestly just love this team, the euros apart we just constantly seem to exceed expectations, such a truly loveable group of players, every Scottish footballer (Ryan Fraser apart) must just want to be part of that group of absolute ballers. Praying for North Macedonia or Finland and for Italy and Portugals play off final route to draw them against eachother but even to be in this position is some going and the person who rightly gets most of the credit is Steve Clarke, what a man he is, to go from the shambles we were under Alex McLeish with him picking the likes of Scott Bain, Graeme Shinnie, David Bates, Marc McNulty etc to genuinely being a force to be reckoned with over just 3 years is way above our wildest expectations of him. Tonight every man was superb, Gordon made a couple of saves but what I felt was most important was the number of cross and high balls that he just plucked from the air and killed all the pressure. O’Donnell was his usual self, lots of running and hard work, a man I have so much respect for and have never once doubted, man is a total hero. John Souttar I had worries about him starting but he totally shut me up, fair play. Liam Cooper won absolutely everything in the air, a total brick wall, first time we’ve really seen why he plays at such a high level consistently but by god it was totally clear, a rock. Kieran Tierney, just every time he gets the ball you know he’s gonna do something good, I posted a joke BBC starting line up earlier in the thread with him as a number 10 but if he was asked to no doubt he could bloody play there. Andy Robertson has gone from a target for abuse because his international form isn’t as good as his club form to one of the most loved men in the country. Calum McGregor, what the f**k? I honestly hated him about 12 months ago, prior to that Serbia game I don’t think he’d had a good game for us once, since then he’s hardly had a bad one, faultless and thought he was our best player in the first half. Speaking of our best player, I know he went off early but man of the match for me was between Gilmour and McGinn, both of them, absolutely trojans, all that running, clever touches, the passes they had for the move where Christie played Robertson/Adams in, if that had gone in I don’t think I’d have ever seen a better goal in my life. Ryan Christie is one I’ve not seen many comments about but I thought again he was brilliant, he used the ball so well, often found in the second half he was an outball and the way he used possession was not only useful in keeping the ball but very positive and it allowed for plenty counter attacks, gets a bad wrap if you ask me but another great performer tonight. And Adams, we’ll I don’t think I have anything more to add than what’s already been said, so often he won 50/50’s that weren’t even 50/50’s, can I call them 80/20’s? Where he had no right to be winning things, picking it up and bringing us up the park, I was already celebrating when Armstrong played the pass through to him, you had total confidence he would stick it away and he did it so well. Just imagine how good we would be if we called up all the English Championship and MLS players with Scottish great uncles. How far can this team go? Well I don’t want to get carried away but who’s going to stop us winning the World Cup?
  7. Would be more fun if it allowed for the possibilities of Maxwell Blackpool and Jack Philadelphia to get late call ups.
  8. This will be Porteous’ 3rd call up probably without getting a cap. Obviously will see it with keepers all the time but I wonder if there’s a record for the most called up player without being capped. Looking forward to this tonight, half day at work, Tennents lager is calling my name.
  9. Happy with the line up. As usual the angry twitter brigade bemoaning 4 at the back and only one striker is a good laugh but it’s probably the strongest from we’ve had available, I might have played Turnbull instead of Armstrong but we’ll see how it goes.
  10. Jim Thomson must be the only man in Scotland to not have feelings for him
  11. Apologies if posted elsewhere but how can you not love this man
  12. Lots of calls for Souttar online which surprises me given he wasn’t in the initial squad. It’ll be Cooper, although a few bookings/injuries and we could be struggling to put a defence together for the Denmark game. Hendry, Robertson, Patterson and O’Donnell are all one away from a suspension.
  13. Nisbet had some tough questions from the press about his form. Thought he handled them well.
  14. For anyone as pernickety as me, a fix for this is to go onto the data editor and remove Rangers and Celtic’s B Team from the Lowland League, you’ll need to replace them with a couple of teams for it to work, I’ve made it Auchinleck and Clydebank, I know this is a bit of a fudge but as the lowland league isn’t a playable or viewable league it shouldn’t make too much of a difference. Will only really have an effect on you if you want to manager Celtic or Rangers and f**k that. Operation Forfar Athletic to the top has recommenced.
  15. I would say a clearer sign is having to have watched us for the past couple of months tbqh.
  16. What I love about Hibs most at the moment (and trust me, at the moment I love very little about the current players, coaching team and ownership of the club) is our ability to constantly have every other club absolutely foaming at the mouth over us. Whether it’s our tackling, covid procedures or players getting called up for the national team, diving, the residents of Pie and Bovril aswell as twitter dot com seem to be utterly losing the head over everything we do at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, some of the things we’ve done like the NFT shit, Ron Gordon’s guff about the clubs in the SPFL and all that pish, I strongly disagree with but everyone losing the plot over us rn and it’s class.
  17. Currently in this horrible boat. I’m in the 2nd season the Old Firm B Teams obviously finished high in the lowland league and The Challenge Cup has the Old Firm B Teams in it aswell as their U21’s and the Scottish Cup has the B teams in it too. I know it’s just a wee thing but I feel I can’t manage in Scotland until it’s fixed, shame because I’ve got Forfar up at the top of league 1 in the second season but it just can’t continue until the B team thing is sorted.
  18. I suppose the only worry with that is that there are a lot of players one card away from a suspension, not sure if any of our centre half’s are in that boat kind you.
  19. If Tierney and Hanley are out I suspect like others have said it’ll be Cooper, Hendry and McTominay at the back. That only leaves McKenna in the event of any injuries/suspensions so I reckon we need another centre half in there. John Souttar is the only real option, players he’s called up before; Gallagher and Considine injured, Hanlon and Porteous likely to have covid or be isolating with Hibs having only 8 available players. Genuinely can’t think of anyone else although I’m sure someone will be along soon to point out a Coventry 5th choice centre half from Bishops Stortford with a Scottish step grandad is available.
