  1. Assuming Gray is still in charge next weekend, if he wins the cup, I suspect he would get it until at least the summer.
  2. Yeah that’s fair, I didn’t consider that, although to be fair I was at the grand slam in 2019 and he didn’t seem to let the abuse he was getting bother him. Searle is 50/1 with SkyBet at the moment, will definitely be putting on a few outright bets at the start of the tournament next week.
  3. Regardless of where those players have gone, it’s exciting to see young players coming through your club and being successful, all of which went on to be cup winners, I would argue that said Rangers, Hearts, Hibs and even the Falkirk of that era would probably have competed in the top 6 of last seasons top flight it was that weak, I know, pointless argument because it’s not something that can be proved, but the achievement of finishing 3rd last season isn’t as shiny as its’ made out, especially given the fact the only first team regular from the start of last season that we lost in the summer was our goalkeeper and we’re dropping down the table like a dead weight. Celtic fans told us the same when we sacked Neil Lennon, with Bolton being the equivalent basket case and your post just screams of the same energy.
  4. 2017/18 was absolutely tremendous, we’ve just failed to replicate that since. Yes, we finished 1 place higher in 2019/20 but if you can find a Hibs fan that enjoyed 19/20 more than 17/18 I’ll be astonished.
  5. It’s all relative, when we were 2nd in the championship we had an exciting young team on the rise (McGinn, McGeouch, Allan, Cummings, Malonga etc) that were exciting to watch, we went toe to toe with Rangers and Hearts regularly, we made semi finals and finals and it culminated in us winning the Scottish Cup, the best achievement in my lifetime. Now we’re beige to watch, our young prospects are stagnating, we’re flying down the table, crowds are dropping and there is literally 0 connection between the fans and the club. Its so easy to make comments like above when you don’t have a clue.
  6. Yep, totally, see my post about 8 hours before the Livi game kicked off.
  7. It’s so easy for people who haven’t had to watch the absolute dross we’ve served up over the past year to make comments like this. We finished 3rd in the league and got 3 trips to Hampden but fans weren’t happy, yet we were happy when we finished 2nd in the Championship. Its a total inditement of the shower of shite football on show, lack of defence of Porteous, being battered by St Johnstone twice at Hampden, shite transfer windows, attendances are dwindling rapidly because people don’t want to watch this team. Just because he talks well in the media doesn’t make him the right man for the job, speak to any Sunderland fan and you’ll get a similar response.
  8. As I’ve said in another thread I’m not totally convinced by Alex Neil, done well in Scotland but sacked from 2 jobs in England, sounds similar to Ross to me. Unless there’s someone on here that can convince me that he plays a better brand of football than the shite we’ve been served up under Ross.
  9. Ooft, delighted to be proved completely wrong, Kensell said a few weeks ago we were lucky to have Ross and he was a great manager so that’s some turnaround. Not convinced Alex Neil is the answer mind you, really similar record to Mr Ross, saying that, I don’t know who is the answer.
  10. Theoretically yes but it generally only happens if it’s in the spotlight, the miss probably reduces that.
  11. Great that we’ve had 3 penalty appeals, the one that was given was a complete dive and the 2 that weren’t given were pretty much stonewallers. If Boyle had scored it he’d have probably ended up with a 2 match ban mind you. We are chronic, Livi deservedly ahead, sack the manager etc etc etc. Thank f**k I’m not there.
  12. Ryan Searle is a decent bet to reach the final I feel, Rob Cross the only real player in his half that’s on form at the moment. With the obvious caveat that MVG and Wright can turn it on at any point but neither have had a great year. Still fancy Price to win it again.
  13. Managed to get Forfar boiz up to the Premiership by 2027/2028 last night. Reckon we’re in for a slog now mind you, very few Premiership quality players in the team, Livi-ball here we come.
  14. “Nothing will happen, nothing ever does” CON +2
  15. To be honest with you, right now it’s just the most uninspiring, under Heckingbottom, Butcher the etc, I went every week but at least there was anger there, when we’d lose I would actually be annoyed, the way we play and the fact there are very few players on the pitch that I feel any connection to (probably Boyle and Porteous the only regular starters that applies to). For example, in years gone by we’d lose 3-0 to Dundee Utd I would be straight home and annoyed, in the game recently, I was pleased the 3rd went in so that I could leave and get myself to the boozer with my pals which I’m finding far more enjoyable than the football under this management with these players. I’ve got a good mate who’s an Aberdeen fan, who went every week his whole life and what Derek McInnes did to the club put him off it for life and when I speak to him about Ross, it sounds similar, I won’t ever be put off it for life but as someone pre-covid who went every week home and away, already I’ve started reducing the away games I go to, Aberdeen being the only one I’ve done this season so far (although I was half way up to Dingwall when that shite happened). I’ve gone off on a bit of a tangent here but I’m definitely not alone, crowd numbers are dwindling and less and less season ticket holders are showing up and unless something changes soon, whether that be a change in manager or some investment in the team, that’s only going to continue.
  16. Calum Murray was a Hearts fan but honestly felt he was usually okay, fully expecting now someone to reply with a video of him making a howler but he was okay of my experience. Was discussing Beaton with my mates earlier, all absolutely adamant that he was a Rangers fan, there’s no actual evidence of this is there? It was just a case of him being in a pub and being photographed and Rangers fans making up a banner to wind up Celtic fans. Also recall him not sending Anthony Stokes off for about 11 fouls and choke slamming James Tavernier whilst sending Ryan Jack off for f**k all when we beat Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox, the guys just incredibly incompetent imo.
  17. Really hacked off with the pantwetting travel restrictions that came to force yesterday. For a trip to Cyprus in January instead of the previous £17 it would have cost for a Lateral Flow on arrival I now need to book another 2 tests, one on arrival in Cyprus and one before flying home coming to a minimum of £75. Fed up of this shite.
  18. There’s probably as much chance of my granny being the next manager as Lennon and rightly so. I would love it to be Alex Neil but Jack Ross is going absolutely nowhere, not a chance, and if he does it’ll be some Steve Kean-like crony, really concerned about our ownership and where the club is going to be honest. Crowds going down, ticket prices going up, hiring fuds like Steve Kean, Ron Gordon and his “investigation” to hurt part time clubs, I was no fan of Dempster and was pretty glad when she left in honesty but I’m genuinely really worried about it all to be honest, been a season ticket holder for the majority of my life but I’m seriously considering not bothering next season for the first time in my adult life, especially with fucking VAR coming in being added into the mix. Hopefully I’m just being dramatic and the way I feel the club is going isn’t how it’s going to end up but that’s very much the way it feels the tide is going right now.
  19. I hope everyone is excited for this as I am. Did consider going along to this but after watching us recently, a cold Wednesday night at the spaghettihad really doesn’t appeal to me at all, it’ll be IPTV and a glass of orange juice for me. It really makes utterly no sense to me that in December we cram as many games in as humanely possible but in August/April we have the normal 1 per week. Hopefully a Martin Boyle dive and penalty conversion gives this thread a bit of life, I can’t imagine the match will have much.
  20. Might go back to my flat, put some paint on the wall and watch it dry
  21. Hope everyone is okay. Anything untoward happening would be a tragedy.
  22. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/covid-19-steps-concert-in-glasgow-among-sources-of-new-omicron-cases-in-scotland-nicola-sturgeon-says-12485478 Any idea how many cases there were? 5? 6? 7? 8?
  23. Utterly amazed to see a man that’s outed himself as a Tory on Twitter is a selfish piece of shit. Also worth noting the date it happened, that was the small hours of the morning after the “whole team went into isolation ”
