Season and walk up ticket pricing is more than reasonable . The project needs funding and this is one of the ways to allow that to happen. The £2 extra would pretty much pay the salary of a decent player ....

Ooft. Quite the claim before you've even seen them play. A left back you hadnt heard of a week ago and Dario Zanatta who had a really good season with Alloa and a pretty poor one with Thistle. He might be a good signing but Forrest has been one of the best left sided players in the League for a couple of seasons. There is a reason he has gone to the Premiership and Zanatta didnt. When Zanatta was at Alloa he was coached by the first class Goodwin , at thistle McCall had lost his precious no2 Sandy Stewart , Sandy did most of the training at Ayr . Now Dario will be looked after by Mark and Mick ,who everybody at Ayr has high hopes for . So I’m pretty optimistic how that deal will go. On the Patrick Reading signing I spoke to one of his U21 colleagues, I was told he has a great left peg and loves clattering into tackles .He was pretty clear Patrick was a massive coup for Ayr United . He also went on to say Ayr would be better than alright this season . I didn’t press him on what he meant by that or what he might know !

I had a feeling we’d get an OF youngster as a GK. I’d be happy enough with Wright but iirc he wasn’t particularly tall 6 foot 2 in

Harvie and Reading were U21 internationals at the same time, Zannatta and Forrest both achieved that level in the past , all be it for different countries. I hopefully we have mitigated the loss of our two best players .

I tend to agree with you . Against all odds we have replaced Forrest and Harvie with out really down grading the left side of the team at all . So if we can match that replacing the three you’ve mentioned we should be in decent order . Who knows we may even strengthen the back by bringing in a centre half , that would be the icing on the cake . Let’s see what next week brings .

I’m told the club got £40k and a 20% sell on deal . If Russel Martin can bring him on another 20 % then it’ll be the Championship for Danny the following season one way or another .

I’d say that’s the reason Ayr are on the preferred destination list at Rangers . We have a recent history of giving these lads a chance . Whither he comes to Ayr remains to be seen !

One Lawrence Shankland had four pretty average loan spells before joining us ! The rest is history ! Maybe the boy just needs a proper chance !

Think the idea would be for him to get games , along the same lines as young Kelly with 33 games . Looks like Rangers have marked us up in the same bracket as Burton and Orange Co as a safe place to develop their young players . Maybe get more than one from them !

Have no recommendations what so ever , that’ll be Mark’s job , and I’ve been told he is very much up to it . For me though I’d be thrilled if in the next few weeks we signed Peter Hartley , Sean Kelly , Stephen McGinn and Aaron Drinan . Oh and any kind of fairly reliable goal keeper . On the re signing front : Murdock and Aero . They’d be my priority. What’s your thoughts on next seasons playing squad D’Jaffo ?
