  1. I still think they will comfortably finish top 3. If Chelsea or Liverpool can get their acts together then could see Newcastle get reeled in come May though.
  2. I thought watching it back Pickford was laughing back too as well. He knew full well what he’d been up to ‘taking his time’ every time he got the ball at 0-0 and Robertson took the chance to get one back. Coady then came steaming in trying to impress the Everton fans and it kicked off a bit of handbags.
  3. Boroughmuir Thistle 0-5 Celtic @ Meadowbank Stadium on Sunday. Women’s Scottish Cup Round 5. The holders ahead in the 1st minute and, although the home side battled hard and had a couple of chances, they ran out confortable winners to reach the Quarter Finals. Crowd 235.
  4. I headed along to Edinburgh Eagles 20-30 Saddleworth Rangers yesterday in the Challenge Cup at the Royal HS at 1.15pm so just headed after to ... Spartans 3-0 Edinburgh University @ Ainslie Park Stadium . A very comfortable 3 Lowland League points for the title chasing home side. 1-0 up at the break, 2 more followed in the 2nd half and only some good saves from the Uni keeper prevented more. Crowd 150.
  5. Man City fans booing the Premier League anthem.
  6. Over 1000 Carlisle fans down in London yesterday fantastic support .
  7. Pretty emotional stuff with Eddie Howe at the end of the Bournemouth - Newcastle game !! No one in the top half winning today.
  8. Can see things getting a bit tasty over the next few weeks ...
  9. Spartans 0-3 Celtic @ Ainslie Park . Scottish Women’s Premier League. 6th v 2nd in midweek action on Wednesday night and the home defence held firm in a tight 1st half. Celtic got ahead though just after the restart and added 2 more to keep within 3 points of Glasgow City. Crowd 116.
  10. Hamilton Academical 2-1 Queen of the South (AET) @ New Douglas Park . SPFL Trust Trophy SF. A brave effort from the Doonhamers who started well before gifting an opener (21) but levelled (72). They tired though and Accies deservedly go through (96). Crowd 1049 (469 away).
  11. Wallyford Bluebell 0-1 FC Pather @ Portobello High School 3G . Scottish Sunday Trophy Round 5. The tightest of ties looked to be heading for penalties until the visitors won it in the 3rd minute of time added on. Scenes in the away end . The holders progress. Crowd 122.
  12. Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 Liverpool @ Molineux Stadium . The home side got off to a flyer, 2-0 up after 12 mins and then end Liverpool’s attempts to find a way back with a third goal 19 mins from time. Great 3 points for Wolves who continue to pull away from trouble. A terrible Premier League season for the Reds continues. Crowd 31,664.
  13. Edinburgh Uni are very consistent programme issuers. Only 4 pages these days it used to be more but still good to get something. I made it along today to the programme fair it was really good and the organisers seemed happy with the turnout. It was the first programme fair in Edinburgh for 15 years. Could see it bring an annual thing at Parkside Bowling Club. Great to see the hobby still alive and kicking.
  14. Carlisle United 5-1 Barrow @ Brunton Park . Sky Bet League 2. A brilliant night under the lights. A tight first half ended with on form United breaking the deadlock . They ran riot in the 2nd half to win big in the Cumbrian Classico and move into 3rd place. Crowd 9351.
  15. Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Liverpool @ AMEX Stadium. FA Cup Round 4. The visitors take the lead but Brighton levelled before the break. With a replay looming the home side snatched it with a Kaoru Mitoma injury time winner knocking out the holders. Crowd 31,000 odd.
  16. Brilliant last night really enjoyed it. The Barrow manager was pinpointing individual mistakes on Radio Cumbria for the goals. Could well have been offside for the first. What a ball from Moxon for the 2nd.
  17. Arniston Rangers 2-1 Syngenta @ Newbyres Park . Great game yesterday afternoon with the home side edging it to secure 3 big points in the EoSFL, Division 2 promotion race. Arran Laidlaw with the winner ️p (74) from the spot after he was fouled in the box. Crowd 130.
