  1. Vale of Leithen 0-3 Tynecastle @ Victoria Park . EOSFL Premier Division. KO 2.30pm. The visitors ahead after only 15 seconds but they were made to work for their win by a dogged home side. A free kick (43) and a penalty (72) completed the scoring. Crowd 59.
  2. Heriot-Watt University 0-1 University of Stirling @ Oriam . Queens Park Shield Final . KO 2pm. An excellent rear guard action and the woodwork kept Heriot-Watt in this one but Stirling struck late on and survived an injury time scare to deservedly win. Crowd around 175.
  3. Scotland 4-0 Costa Rica (3-0 HT) @ Hampden Park . Women’s International Friendly Match. Impressive performance from Scotland who raced into a 3-0 lead at the break before 17 year old Emma Watson ️ got her 2nd of the night on 66 minutes. Crowd 4583.
  4. Saturday 8th April ... Vale of Leithen 0-6 Sauchie Juniors @ Victoria Park . EOSFL Premier Division. The 2nd placed visitors score 3 times in each half to see off the leagues bottom club. Down to the barebones the Vale are simply looking to finish the season with minimal damage. Crowd 64 + 3 dogs .
  5. Sunderland West End 1-2 Easington Colliery @ Ford Quarry Hub . Northern League Division 2. 7.30pm. Good Friday game No.3 with the visitors leading 2-0 at the break through 2 headed corners. The home side battled back well though and deserved a least point. Crowd 100.

  7. First up on Good Friday ... Redcar Athletic 4-3 West Auckland Town @ Green Lane . HT 1-0. 12 noon kick-off in the Northern League Division 1. Brilliant game with the visitors battling back from 1-0 and 3-1 down to level, before the home side found a winner in the closing stages. Crowd 550.
  8. Linton Hotspur would be a good addition. Seated stand and club house can be seen in photos from when I was there at the beginning of the season.
  9. Maybe your groundsman could offer some advice on Saturday .
  10. Fixed that for you there’s not a chance Chelsea are getting past Real Madrid. Had the radio on on the home from the Women’s game at Hampden last night and Man City fans all boasting they are going win the treble. No doubt a great result but with their record and Real and Napoli lying in wait I’d be taking it one game at a time.
  11. He said in his interview with Stephen Hendry last week that he had given up on becoming on a manager. Don’t laugh ... but he said he would make Chelsea the exception.
  12. Well done Spartans hopefully they go on and get up (at the expense of Elgin) - no offence to Elgin it’s too far away . I think home advantage is alternated?
  13. Spartans 2-5 Dundonald Bluebell @ Ainslie Park Stadium . EOS Qualifying Cup R4. The Fifers raced into a 4-0 1st half lead against what was essentially Spartans U20’s side. They home side pulled it back to 4-2 but chasing a 3rd they conceded again late on. Crowd 88.
  14. Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool @ Stamford Bridge . The home side saw 2 goals disallowed by VAR as they failed to take their chances. Much changed Liverpool had chances too but continue to struggle to find any form. That’s 2 straight goalless draws I’ve seen I think I last did that in 2010 . Crowd around 41,000.
  15. Erik Ten Hag is the 9th longest serving manager in the Premier League.
  16. Having seen the antics of Pather in an earlier round after they won I dread to think how they took that today .
  17. They are of 3 World Cup winner's born in the area: Sir Geoff Hurst MBE and Jimmy Armfield CBE, who were with England in 1966, and Simone Perrotta who was born in Ashton but played for Italy in 2006. Apparently he only found out about it 7 years later lol.
  18. Curzon Ashton 0-0 Bradford Park Avenue @ Tameside Stadium . National League North. Stalemate . The home side will feel they should have won but Bradford repelled 🛡 everything thrown at them and on another day could have snatched a win of their own. Crowd 341.
  19. Manchester City 4-1 Liverpool @ Etihad Stadium . Mo Salah put the visitors ahead with a great finish but City levelled before the break and were far too strong in the 2nd half winning easily. Thankfully for Liverpool they declared at 4. Crowd 52,877.
  20. Leith Athletic 0-1 Peebles Rovers @ Meadowbank Stadium 🏟. East of Scotland League Cup R2. A tight game - 1st v 2nd Division - was settled in the 2nd half when the Leith No.2 saw red and Peebles used the man advantage to get on top and find a winner ️. Crowd 138.
  21. Spartans 3-0 Gretna 2008 @ Ainslie Park . Parks Motor Group Scottish Lowland League. 3 comfortable points for the home side who led 2-0 at the break and added a 3rd midway though the 2nd half. Spartans lead the way at the top of the table with 3 games left. Crowd 360.
