Musselburgh Athletic 1-2 Bonnyrigg Rose PSF @ Olivebank. A tight 1st half, in fact 70 minutes, before the game came to life. Taylor Black headed in the home side in front before Conor Doan & George Hunter turned it around in Bonnyrigg’s favour late on. Crowd 414.

I couldn’t really call it as was right behind the goal but Murrell didn’t seem that far in front of the cross if at all. Musselburgh played well.

Hamilton Academical 1-3 Queen of the South @ New Douglas Park on Saturday . The Doonhamers completed their pre-season with another good win against Championship opposition. 1-1 at the break Queens won ️ it the last 20 minutes. Crowd 458.

Raith Rovers 1-2 Queen of the South @ Starks Park , Kirkcaldy. Willie Gibson’s new look Queens got pre-season off to a winning start in a good run out. All the goals ️ coming in the 2nd half, the visitors winning it 20 minutes from time. Crowd of around 600.

Spartans 2-1 East Fife PSF @ Ainslie Park . Less than 18 hours after the previous one ended, I got season 2022-23 underway on Saturday with a decent game between Lowland League and League 2. The visitors ahead early on but Spartans turned it around with 2 late goals. Crowd 150.

Thornhill 5-5 Balfron Rovers @ South Common Park on Friday night. F&E Cameron Cup R2 1st Leg and a great game to finish my 2021-22 season . Thornhill always ahead (1-0, 3-1 & 5-3) but were reduced to 10 men after an hour and Balfron levelled. All to play for in the 2nd Leg. Crowd 37.

An excellent signing for Broxburn both on and off the park.

Murieston United 0-1 Edinburgh Caledonian ... LEAFA Champions Cup @ Oriam on Sunday. 3 team tournament played with VAR and it played a huge part in deciding this one. A well taken goal 15 minutes from time was flagged for offside however the decision was overturned. Crowd 51.

Heriot-Watt University 1-0 Livingston United AET @ Central Park , Whitburn last Saturday. Heriot-Watt win the 119th King Cup Final with a hugely contested goal ️ against 10 men in extra time. A big offside call that video evidence showed the officials got spot on. Crowd 311.

Liverpool 0-1 Real Madrid @ Stade de France, Paris on Saturday. After over 2 hours outside eventually made it in through the chaos. Another European Cup Final for the Reds but they don’t take their chances and Real win it with a 59th minute goal.j A disappointing end to another brilliant season. Crowd 80,000 odd.

What a draw for Bonnyrigg !!

Don’t normally bother with posting about games at Anfield but a 31st and final visit of the season on Sunday and the new Ian Rush mural ... Liverpool 3-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers. Dramatic final day of the Premier League season as Liverpool, 2 wins from the quadruple, came from behind to beat Wolves but so did Man City from 2-0 down at home to Aston Villa and win the title by a point. Crowd 53,000 odd.

Rangers 2-0 Heart of Midlothian AET on Saturday @ Hampden Park. Hearts made a game of it but it’s Rangers who lifted the Scottish Cup with goals from substitutes Ryan Jack ️ & Scott Wright ️ in the 1st half of extra time. Crowd 50,329.

Loanhead Miners AFC 4-4 Penicuik AFC @ Loanhead Tin Pan on Wednesday night. Drama with the visitors needing a win to the secure the LEAFA 1st Division East title. Penicuik recovered from 2-0, 3-2 & 4-3 down to level but couldn’t find a late winner. Longniddry Villa are Champions . Crowd 125.

Another there on Sunday for ... East Kilbride 4-2 Bo’ness United ... Lowland League Cup Final @ Ainslie Park. A very good final that was level at 1-1 just after the break. East Kilbride got back in front with a great strike and ran out deserved winners. Crowd 524.

Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool AET (5-6 on pens) @ Wembley 🏟 yesterday. Jurgen Klopp’s side completed the domestic cup double with a 2nd shootout win over Chelsea after a goalless 120 minutes. Konstantinos Tsimikas with the winning penalty. Scenes . Crowd 84,897.

Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool @ Villa Park on Tuesday night. The home side ahead after 3 minutes but Liverpool quickly level. They won it in the 2nd half with a Sadio Mane header to keep their quadruple hopes alive with only 4 games to go. Crowd 41,919.

Spartans 1-3 Celtic @ Ainslie Park in the Scottish Women’s Premier League on Sunday. The home side battled away and pulled one back to make it 2-1 in the 2nd half but, as expected, Celtic ran out deserved winners. Crowd 175.

Barrow AFC 1-3 Northampton @ Holker Street . Got another one ticked off from the 92 on Saturday afternoon. Dramatic final day in League 2 with the visitors 3-0 up after half an hour and set for promotion. However Bristol Rovers won 7-0 at home to Scunthorpe and edged them out on goal difference. Scenes .
