  1. In the post above you have clearly altered what I said and therein lies some of the problem - people believe what they are told without knowing the full truth. Yep not all of our fans are squeaky clean (no fan base is) and you can be assured that we do all we can to ensure that things are done properly. If people step out of line there is a process for dealing with that in our fans charter - same as most clubs. No going to engage anymore because both you and the lad console clearly have an idea about the majority of our support and how anyone who causes trouble is dealt with. You are both wrong Wish you both well but sometimes find out what the full story is and even what is true before you make your mind up. The example you used above where you altered my quote to make it look like something I said is typical - don't believe all you read on social media .
  2. Goodness me I am one of the people who run St Roch's, having big crowds is not something we brag about. We endeavour to support as many groups throughoughout our communities. This has included Homeless charities, Homework clubs, football coaching, Employability session, mental health support groups to name a few - these are the things that make us proud and all free to the end users. We actually won the Evening Times Community Organisation of the Year in 2019. On the park we have progressed at the right pace over the past 7 years. We are also very proud of our fans (the vast vast majority are "real" St Roch's fans and not hangers on as you put it - although I am sure that every club in the west region will have people who come to thier games just for something to do. Our fans are incredible - as an example they recently did a fundraiser to purchase a defiblirator - you don't often here this but they brought in TOO MUCH money. They decided to buy two defiblirators and donate one to another west of Scotland club. This would have cost around £1300 but the fans were keen that because the money was donated for life saving equipment that is what it should be used for. All west clubs have been informed and a Free raffle will determine the destination as we extend the generosity of our fans to another club. It does not take ego to run a successful community club - for us to continue to succeed we need to continue to care. All the very best - you are welcome to come up to our game on Saturday and judge for yourself.
  3. Completely understand and did not appreciate that there were so few U21 teams Is there sn opportunity for players born in 01 who are currently registered with West of Scotland teams who might not be quite ready for the first team to potentially go out on loan for a season?
  4. I agree 100% Why can the players effected not go to 21s or ammies - it is time for the 04s to get thier shot at the Development Leaugue
  5. Hearing football at all levels from Chamionship down will be postponed from today SPFL Premier League will be only permitted football for next 4 weeks
  6. Did anyone notice the lino at the Celtic game yesterday - positive he was reffing at our level last season?
  7. Seems to me most of the posts on this thread are from Pollok - who are not playing in the league at the moment Pipe up when you start playing you absolute pains in the arse
  8. £7,200 to each paricipating club this season £2,500 for teams who decided not to participate
  9. Comeontheloknow - each club made the decision based on thier own circumstances, there may be some who will regret that the further we go into this season A question for you though - your statement outlined "guaranteeing the safety of volunteers and players on matchdays" which is understandable - why enter a team in the under 20s league? I find that baffling!!
  10. Maybe I sm wrong but even if there is a 4 week lockdown that does not mean the season would need to be curtailed The leagues have kicked off and have until next June to finish - I am sure the clubs who are participating would not mind a four week break, if enforced, and to start back January or even February. The clubs that have dropped out however will still need to wait till next Summer so no real impact on them I, for one, have enjoyed seeing the resilts coming in on a Saturday night and hats off to all the players, staff and committees for the efforts - the season has started - it NEEDS to finish
  11. Detaiks from SFA about rules around players being released from contracts I refer to the recent withdrawal of several West of Scotland Football League clubs from participation for Season 2020/21. The Scottish FA’s Registration Department is receiving an increasing number of enquiries from these clubs and their players in respect of the status of existing registrations/contracts. Contractual matters are between the employer (club) and employee (player) and the Scottish FA is not in a position to offer any advice or guidance on individual contracts/registrations. The clubs and players concerned are encouraged to engage in order to discuss and resolve any registration/contractual issues which may have arisen as a result of the club’s withdrawal from the league. Ultimately, if matters cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, a club or a player is entitled to refer any dispute to the Scottish FA in accordance with Annex 2 of the Registration Procedures (P213 of the Scottish FA Handbook https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/media/6947/scottish-fa-handbook-2020-21.pdf ). The West of Scotland Football League is requested to advise all clubs concerned that they should engage directly with their players in respect of existing registrations/contracts. Contact should only be made with the Scottish FA in the event that all attempts to resolve registration/contractual issues have been fully exhausted and the club or player wishes the matter referred to arbitration. Should you have any queries in relation to the above, please get in touch.
  12. Guidance out this afternoon about changing facilities - we should be able to access soon enough
  13. Have St Cadocs kept the majority of the playing squad they had signed (the ex Beith lads etc)? Drumchspel have signed some well kent faces and that is a really good test for thier first game - Kilsyth are top seeded team in thier conference and it will give the Drum a real idea of the challenge ahead Think you might be right aboug Glasgow university but they are very much an unknown quantity which might be difficult for St Roch's
  14. Saturday brings the start of the West of Scotland Football League Thoughtnit would br good to have a thread that lets us talk about fixtures, results etc. Instead of wht teams were right to stay and why teams were right to pull out coupled with commentary from the Co-vid 19 experts. Who do your team play on Saturday, are you looking forward to it?, do you expect to start with a win. Are your team able to offer a streaming service or other social media coverage until we can get the fans back in. So for a start how do you think the new boys (Drumchapel, St Cadocs and Glasgow Uni) will fare this weekend
  15. That would have been far too sensible mate
  16. Glorified friendlies my arse The west of Scotland football league starts next Saturday - next May there will be 4 clubs crowned Champions. That championship will quite rightly be listed in thier role of honour Next Saturday there are about 30 fixtures - each ov them have 3 points up for grabs - the teams who are staying need to now enbrace the situation (I was very vocal that there should be promotion) but the clubs voted and there was not enough support to change the decision around promotion now not on cards Also you can ram Regionaling the league - we play in the west of Scotland leagie, not the Ayrshire, Lanarkshire or Glasgow Leagues The conferences should be organised based on the same principal as originally formed minus the teams who have dropped out - this will give 3 FAIR conferences Sick of all the negativity - lets get it on next Saturday. For the clubs who cannot participate it is an awful situation and not something anyone wanted to see but in the meantime ...see yous next summer Bring on next Saturday
  17. However If all clubs were to have voted to start on the 24th then we would have had a full competitive league, however some clubs thought not for them (thier choice). Based on your logic you could say it was of the way the 31 clubs in voting no and some subsequently withdrawing is the reason we did not all start competitivley on the 24th There must be a fix
  18. This propossl incorporates ideas from many clubs at our level ... We stick by the promise of non punishment for the clubs that have decided they cannot play and respect their decision. We offer promotion from premier to LL if conditions allow (licence in place) We promote from the conferences – to get the PL to an even number – so 3 Conference winners if the PL Champ is promoted or 3 Conference winners with best runner up or play off if PL Champions do not go up. So a potential 24 team Premier League for one season (don't panic) but here is my suggestion THE PL in 2021/22 starts with (lets call it 24 worst case scenario) Spilt into 2 groups of 12 (first phase) Play each other twice (22 games) Top 6 in each go into promotion path Bottom 6 in each go into Relegation path In each pathway teams play each other one time (11 games) – the home and away set up would be determined before the season kicks of eg Team who finishes top of Group A (first phase) plays team who finishes 6th in Group B at home and team that finished 5away sort of idea and so on so that it is fair Promotion and Relegation Paths start with zero points For Promotion Paths clubs play 11 games and the winner is champion For relegation phase clubs play 11 games and NINE clubs are relegated 3 come up from Conferences at the end of that season and we have 18 team PL (get it down to 16) following season with 5 down, 3 up This approach would see competitive football for all this season It would also see inceased revenue for participating clubs when fans are back fans will travel at business end of season if competitive so more revenue for all There is also an option for the clubs who have withdrawn to come back in - adjust their budget and participate in Premier or conference with no chance of relegation If we are going to fond a solution to the mess we are in we need a fix that works for all As I said this is not my idea I have just joined up some views from other people
  19. I find this a bit arrogant This is a brand new set up with 67 clubs joining as equals Maybe the dogs should reajust thier business model to suit the times instead of fighting for thier "right" to a seat at the top table - no team has played a single game in the WOSFL but some "bigger" teams think they can dictate to the rest because they got placed in a league which was Gerrymandered to suit. The Conferences in year 1 should always have been across the board as was originally promised. Have some respect for fellow member clubs who will decide what the best way forward for themselves is.
  20. If teams are allowed to choose non participation (because of thier own circumstances) then there cannot be relegation so therefore no promotion My understanding is that the Lowland league have offered team to step down for season without "punishment" Anyway even if there was a promotion spot from the "premier" - why would it be zcceptable for promtion to be available in only one of the four West of Scotland Leagues - you think that is fair?
