  1. Chris strain jr continues to be the mouthpiece for kilwinning and boyd in the newspaper. Absolute ned who most clubs wouldn't touch as a manager. He and his father have been a strain and stain on junior football for more than a decade now. Would suit him a role at this shambolic west of scotland league he'd fit in well with that cabal.
  2. Oh it's obvious! His own horrible little club would love an easier path to get into this bland lowland league. He'd love nothing better than the likes of Auchinleck, Pollok, Beith, Glenafton etc to disappear as if about ten clubs don't his club are playing junior clubs in the west of scotland for at least the next 5 - 10 years. Like everything with that club they want everything for next to nothing or free the new ground being prime example.
  3. Another once proud junior club in glencairn reduced to this sort of shambolic thing. Starts of with one person opinion on things spreading through a small committee shoved down throats next thing a small band of members and fans know it everything they have ever known and loved about the football has changed. They will be left bemused confused and wondering what the hell is going on even if statement after statement has been issued in the lead up to this. The clubs left in the junior cup next season to carry on the proud tradition will be the clubs that have a true back bone and value for the supporter.
  4. David Gormley has been a manager less than two minutes he's no Tommy Sloan or Johnny Miller he's not a Martin Ferry either. Gormley is a total rookie at management who can only be judged after several seasons managing. Martin Ferry is a very experienced and respected manager who's well thought of and exactly the type of manager they need make no mistake about it some stability, a manager who can grow things from a solid base and knows what he is doing. You are from glasgow yet supported kilbirnie since the 80s? Well everyones circumstances and reasons for supporting a club are different. Nobody wants to travel is an interesting comment to make considering ayrshire sides have big chunks of players from the glasgow area in the teams.
  5. The reason i said strange move is a rated him he's small but great work rate and a danger and thought he'd stay put or maybe move on to a top 3 or 5 team. All that was assuming the boy didn't want to move for work reasons which is fair enough. Rossvale have lost all the best players so big question mark if they can finish in top half as even with better players they were struggling to do that this season. Fair enough if he is a briggs boy . As for bishopbriggs they have dropped that from social media and will never get a proper home in the town so that ship has sailed. On ladeside they have the history and a good fan base with potential to create something very exciting. Sure it's not happened for them yet but they as a club will appeal to many a player. They will be fine next season especially with very competent experienced management team they have put in place .
  6. This is what happens when proper football men leave or sadly pass on at once big club junior club and you let a bunch of wrestling cowboys take charge of a club. Already read a couple of bemused posts from supporters. Saying that grand scheme of things they won't be missed in the junior cup .
  7. Dear oh dear the lifelong boys club supporter is trying to dish it out to a auchinleck talbot fan. What kind of parallel universe is this it's comedy gold .
  8. Gary Mackay was great on the radio yesterday. Spoke so much sense . The club has been a basket case on the park for a few years now this is the perfect time to go down regroup and rebuild. Accept it and move on!
  9. Place is looking great! The midgies are brutal mind you! Was last at that ground years ago when ground hopping Paul Cameron Pat Walker were a right handful back in that period when they had a good wee team.
  10. All a bit pathetic from brora rangers now. A crawling statement congratulation celtic then going on to get themselves into it mentioning restructuring. It's not happening when will you understand this! Move on and concentrate being the best but you can be after this pandemic.
  11. Does this guy ever have a day off from self promotion. The damage has been done the reputation is terrible no matter how many pr exercises you go on. You could fed the starving 5 thousand and still not come over well with many people.
  12. Thank you very much for the info. Two great football men i agree. So many now have been lost to the junior and juvenile world in recent years sadly.
  13. Yeah mate they also had woods and finnegan also around then who were great attacking options.
  14. Maybe get Mr Fraser to head up an enquiry oh no wait he's apart of the absolute embarrassment that is the sfa and the absolute clusterfuck of a 'pyramid' that's losing credibility by the minute. Make no mistake about it this is a total storm in a tea cup. A winner was to be declared and this was the only way to do it whether or not an auchinleck official was on the board or not. Wonder what next from the kilwinning chronicle chris strain jr to be given a noble peace prize. Absolute shambles from them.
  15. Mark of the man doing this when he didn't need to. No doubt Mr Chisholm will continue his great work at atfc in the future and help his club kick on in the senior cup and west of scotland set up with the junior clubs and beyond. Hopefully see him if he feels like he wants to appear again to add his valuable experience to the non league game.
  16. Jordan Murch back at petershill is a good signing for them. Remember he was a cracking player in a very good petershill team a few years back great spine of a team in Mickey White in goals with big Ryan Jordan , Ross Mccabe two cracking big centre backs, Jordan (Murch) in midfield and the pacey and great finisher Stephen Mcgladrigan up front (is he retired now last saw him at Rossvale)
  17. A winner had to be called. A scottish west junior representative had to be selected. The correct method was used. All the other no-nonsense is just hot air started by clubs who instigated the west of scotland junior league in the senior pyramid and want a better chance of competing next season by denying atfc a place in the lucrative senior cup. Self interest pure and simple. Who'd have thought it in scottish football
  18. Sad news great junior football man. Condolences. My old grandfather used to live next to haghill park and took me to the odd dennistoun waverley match before they folded in the late 60s. Did Jack play for the club? I'm sure his name was mentioned but it's that long ago now!
  19. Think the majority would agree they will be odds on favorites to get promoted though nothing guarantee in football granted. Think the lowland would be crazy not to look at someone with this man's experience in the game imo. Mr Boal i should have added to that list of respected west junior men what he's done at beith juniors has been remarkable for the mighty.
  20. Let's hear a few memories of 1st ever junior game and or cup final. Many 1st experience of a game was probably like myself a cup final! Was a Johnstone burgh supporter as grew up near the town watching them win the junior cup in 1968 in the replay was very special. I was a bit to young for the cup win in 1964 having to listen to most of the family go on about it made me very jealous indeed. Thankfully i didn't have long to wait for my own moment! Supported the club up till the late 90s and the golden period around that time. Missed out on the final in 2000 as was working in america for a time. Now a floating west junior supporter nowadays but like to venture to keanie park a fair bit for a game and some nostalgia! On the theme of cup finals I've been to every scottish junior cup final the last 15 years and even as a neutral loved the buzz of the whole day and seeing people experience what i did back in the 60s is magic !
  21. The amount of senior football officials who have made a pigs ear of Scottish football from the top to the lowland is incredible and far more concerning . Those looking to take up roles in the new west have shown themselves up big time imo in recent weeks. With johnson now involved with our junior cup and robertson sent into retirement anyone with half a brain would know the characters left that i mentioned earlier(Mr Rooney, Mr Fyfee Mr Chisholm, Mr Young are more than competent to run the west juniors in the west of scotland and they will do so. Depending if he wants to mr chisholm will have an important role in both tier 6 and tier 5 in the future. That is the reality away from the bashing of the keyboards on here from those who support the worst senior football association in western europe.
  22. No a good day or few weeks for Kelty hearts and well edinburgh hearts come to think of it or the local rangers supporting football chairman No playoff or promotion and the pyramid they invested so much in crumbling before it's really got started. Thoughts with everyone in kelty land at this grim time.
