  1. You’re not making any sense? Im saying that the manager is either not asking Robbie to play that traditional CF role (in which case fine, I respect that, what do I know in comparison). Or Dougie does want that but Robbie’s either incapable or unkeen to do it. No dig at Robbie, he’d always be in my starting XI.
  2. That result always looked likely when the team lines were published - Oakley is so key to the way we play and completely unrealistic to think there’s a replacement for him. Having said that, I expect Robbie to be told, be more capable, or be more willing to adapt his normal game and at least attempt to be that more traditional centre forward when Oakley can’t play. By that I mean anticipate where the ball’s going, be strong and challenge for the ball at every opportunity. Very difficult run of games ahead, up to and including Partick away. It’s possible we lose them all, particularly if we don’t have most of the injured players back. But i hope the support stay with the team - 3rd was and remains the highest it was likely we could finish. That will remain the same at the end of that run of fixtures - given there’s only marginal benefit in finishing 3rd over 4th what matters is getting to the playoffs with a fit squad as we’ve shown we’re capable of stringing together the requisite six results and will be a difficult out.
  3. Do any statistician or club historian types know where 15 games unbeaten ranks all-time for us?
  4. In previous years, a Morton team up 2-0 at home with the chance to move into a beautiful position in the league might have fumbled such an opportunity, beginning a calamitous end to the season. We’ve seen that sort of thing before, so I found that more nervy than I ought to have, but delighted now to have won.
  5. Surely going to be our biggest attendance since COVID return, and probably for some time prior to that too.
  6. Thank you, this is what I was hoping to see. Firstly to see how many points we’ve made on the team in fourth since then (Airdrie 13 points). But also the goal difference - an improvement of 15 goals over 10 games, or 1.5 goals per game is incredible. It really has to be one of the biggest turnarounds of any team in Scotland in memory. Although it would be unreasonable to expect this to continue til the end of the year it’s a lovely position to be in and all credit to the manager and his players.
  7. Does anyone know how to get a view of the league table from, say, 3 December?
  8. Ahh yes, apologies Jack. I don’t know if that says more about my memory as I get older or Bearne’s impact so far.
  9. Morton sign someone called Jordan Davies on a pre-contract, a forward who’s scored 15 goals in 20-something Welsh Premier League games. Obviously know nothing about him but, I think, Dougie’s first foray outside of Scotland for a signing so interesting to see what he’s like in time and if we can expect any further signings from outside Scotland in due course.
  10. Probably should have won that one, but on a day where you have a mentalist refereeing the game content to take a point and move on. I thought Doolan’s subs were the difference though, Lawless and Graham in particular were very ineffectual so I was worried about how our defence would cope with the different threat the subs might bring.
  11. Today capped off a fantastic response from the players and coaching staff, after our most testing time in a couple of years. Days like today make it rewarding to support a wee team because you can see the character and resilience of your team of what aren’t particularly highly paid players or coaches. I hope those saying Dougie’s time was up are having a word with themselves now. A long way to go still of course, and the squad could still use a bit of surgery in January and a fuller review in the summer but fantastic week. I won’t repeat what’s been said about the referee but a special word for the stand side linesman - two slaps to the Strapp’s face right in front of him and not even a yellow card, then Muirhead flagged offside when 2-3 yards onside and through on goal in the second half. And I’m sure it was him that claimed there was a foul for the penalty.
  12. Really pleased at the result in and of itself obviously, good platform to make some ground this month now. The manner was really pleasing too - while we weren’t dazzling I think you seen the benefit of a fuller squad today, being able to bring on 4 actual professional footballers after the equaliser meant we didn’t capitulate after the equaliser as we would have in past months. Looked and sounded a sore one for Little, hope he’s alright.
  13. A, frankly morbid, defence has been made up for the guy and I have shown you why it doesn’t stand up to an ounce of scrutiny. The fact is Brian Graham, well-known horse’s arse, simply couldn’t take getting laughed at. He always has been an egotist. This made-up defence of him is only deflecting from what should instead be your scrutiny of his behaviour - he’s needlessly got him suspended for a game now (could and should be more given his reemergence from the tunnel, which again shows it’s a punctured ego we’re dealing with here).
  14. 1. I was amidst the small number of fans he was wanting to fight in particular. So yes, I can say that categorically. And I would happily admit if I heard it and enjoy Graham battering said person. 2. He didn’t want to fight anyone in particular, just a number of supporters closest to him. Given he didn’t single anyone out in particular, that would lead you to believe there wasn’t something particular said to him to infuriate him wouldn’t it? 3. As I said above, how these accusations are being given any credibility is beyond me given your supporters were over 100 yards away.
  15. Absolutely. Which is why I’m glad to be able to tell you it never happened. Of the 400+ in the away end yesterday I’d be amazed if more than 10 knew about Graham’s very sad family history. I know I never til today. How these accusations are being made ‘apparent’ from Partick fans today is also baffling given they were on the other side of the pitch.
  16. So this fight that Graham was trying to start - was he planning to tickle the Morton fans he asked to fight? Of course not, we can only presume he’d have been meting out headbutts, punches and whatnot. He was the one who escalated it by trying to instigate a fight. The man’s an arse and has always been an arse and not the kind you’d end up behind if he was playing for Morton. If Partick think he’s fit for a leadership role and someone who’s fit to hold a position of power over others then it says all you need to know about them. All the above is my opinion of course but what’s beyond debate is this excuse being made for him - I was in the midst of the people he was confronting and there was nothing of the sort said to him. And I don’t have any loyalty to anyone there simply because they were supporting Morton, I’d happily excuse Graham had that been said to him. But it wasn’t - and again, amidst the furore and with the distance he wouldn’t have heard it anyway - the reality is his rampant ego couldn’t take being made fun of.
  17. Well aren’t we less than a year removed from a male coach trying to fight at a women’s game and it being made clear that that sort of behaviour isn’t welcome in that arena? More generally, I’m not sure how any coach in any part of the game keeps credibility having acted that way. I would rightly be removed from the coaching I do if I were to have been seen acting like that, as there’s a risk I’d behave that way around my players.
  18. Thank you. If anyone did say anything along those lines it’s understandable he’d react the way he did. I will say I was at the end of the stand where he began reacting and I never heard anything - moreover I don’t think he’d have been able to hear anything given the distance and the amount of things being shouted.
  19. I think he clearly means for Imrie himself to develop. And FWIW, I agree. If you accept that clubs without big budgets to separate themselves from competition will inevitably go through periods like this - then surely you want a manager who can work his way through (and if he doesn’t, learns for next time). Otherwise what’s the point in paying for a manager if you’re just going to pay them off every time you start struggling? Now, Imrie’s signings and the diminishing returns from his original core group are a problem of his own making, sure. And you’d like to see more adaptation and new ideas in the face of this alarming situation. People need to see that bigger though - I know it’s hard in the moment but this is just one season and it won’t make or break us, even if we are relegated. And regardless of where we are in 12 months time, I’d like to imagine Imrie still leading the team given what he’s shown so far overall. And I do trust we’ll get an upturn later in the year - what team wouldn’t when they add O’Connor, Quitongo, Muirhead, Waters and Power back into what was a decent effort yesterday. Whether it will be enough though, who knows. I think what’s clear is that, again regardless of our division next season, this squad which has been together for a few years now has reached the end of the line.
  20. Are you for real? That was actually the least amount of hassle Graham had ever gotten from Morton supporters - until he gets subbed off having done little and naturally we enjoy that. Players should of course be able to respond and I was very surprised it was a straight red card. But trying to instigate a fight - bearing in mind this is apparently someone fit to be a manager of a women’s team - when he knew the fans a. couldn’t get to him b. would get the jail c. had really only had a laugh at his expense is the behaviour of the type of clown Graham has long-known to have been. He was the one who wanted to fight, why didn’t he come into the stand? And hopefully his cameo after your second goal will see him suspended further, as it should given he should be nowhere near the pitch having been sent off. As for deserved win? Only on the basis that we give away our customary calamitous goal in the first minute. Thereafter you were just as lacking as we were, which gives me solace amidst this difficult season that you horrors will see no success either. Look forward to paying you and Brian back later in the season.
  21. I don’t agree that Imrie is being stubborn - I think he simply doesn’t know another way to play. He has moved to 5 at the back recently, so is obviously recognising we need to change things, but judging by his instruction to players in-game the plan remains to play direct and hope to gain possession high up the pitch whether through a dead ball or winning a second ball. That’s served him very well so far but clearly not working now - big test for him IMO will be if he can figure out a new strategy going forward. With the personnel we have though, that might be hard - do we try to play with wingers now in Bearne, Quitongo when fit and/or possibly McGrattan or Boyd? Do we try to bring Gillespie back in and play through midfield more (that fella’s finished as a FT player IMO, sadly) I don’t see a quick turnaround here, best we can hope for is to be in touch come January and see if we can change up the squad - if we can manage that, it’s more likely to have been down to loss of form by other team(s) than our own play. League fixture list between now and mid-December is very tough, before we play the teams around us or we will be trying to reel in( ICT, QP, Arbroath, Airdrie). Am not looking forward to Partick next week and having to sit through those smug gits potentially giving us a doing again.
  22. First of all, fair play to Raith. On another day we might have forced a draw there - put them under some pressure in the second half but too often our final pass (or choice not to shoot) was wrong, and Raith stood up to it all well I thought. The main annoyance is the first goal - not sure why our defender doesn’t win that header? There was a clear shout of ‘man on’ but that shouldn’t have meant him duck out the ball so am wondering if he lost sight of the ball in the floodlights? In any case, it should have been a routine clearance and who knows what happens the rest of the game then.
  23. We’ve got a small section of the stand too - you need to buy your ticket in advance btw, stand or terracing
  24. Any parking at the ground for away supporters? Or should I park on the main road across from the racecourse?
