  1. I'd be stunned if they didn't have cosy tactics chats because Naismith and Robbo are besties and as such, just like the two clubs they manage, they have a very close and harmonious relations.. The Gruesomes should fear the new JV...
  2. It's part of a new joint venture by the clubs to pool resoures and become a stronger force. The new entity will be called Aberdeen not of Midlothian
  3. He was probably just signed to faciliatate the Clarkson signing...if that was the case, then I don't mind giving a donkey a home for six months
  4. Is it true there is a pitch inspection at midday? If so, I'm utterly dumbfounded
  5. I understand this point of view, why would a supporter want his club to lose? However, there's a bigger picture here where, let's say a fluked win like we saw against Hibs in the semi-final might just drag us into deeper trouble in the long-term than defeat tomorrow. I think it's become blatantly obvious to everyone that Robson doesn't have the imagination to turn this round. His failure to try different formations to suit the opposition, and his persitance to continually deploy his failed tactics and personnel is going to be his downfall. I was one of those that wanted to give him the job permanently after the run at the end of last season (although not on a two year contract which was just bizarre); however, he just doesn't convince me now that I've watched him operate for a few months that he has leadership qualities along with his repeated failures tactically. I don't think he's going to see out the season unless someone guides him to try something else. I mean the first thing he needs to do is move Clarkson further up the pitch and give Angus MacDonald a run of matches (although it looks like we'll now lose him this window). I still want the Dons to win tomorrow; however, that run of matches at the end of January/beginning February is giving me the fear. All it's going to take is for Livingston to pick up some points and us to struggle against the Ugly Sisters and the Edinburgh teams then the sweat will really be on. But we know from the past, that Cormack doesn't make any managerial moves until around February when the Scottish Cup campaign is over so defeat tomorrow is unlikely to see Robson lose his job unless something goes drastically wrong. Unfortunately, though the elephant in the room are not the likes of Glass, Goodwin or Robson but that spiv Cormack.
  6. Nostradamus of Midlothian with his annual festive write off of the Dons chances...I remember last year we were told that we wouldn't be able to compete with his team after they're dismal European campaign ended, this year we're doomed because we have games in hand... How did that workout last season again?
  7. What's your definition of small? It might've kept Robson in Inverurie, and allowed us to play four at the back (I jest).
  8. Aye, welcome to the world of football fandom where self-righteousness is parked in favour of your team and to hell with the rest... However, I'll resist being dragged into the cesspit of personal online vitriol thank you. With regards 'Rangers', unlikely to happen since they died in 2012; however, you keep the mythology going if you like.
  9. An empty stadium!? There would've been plenty of fans in tonight. The likelihood is that the rearranged game will be played in worse conditions than tonight. It benefits Aberdeen, because we are beginning to get a fixture backlog before the split with the winter break and Scottish Cup, it benefits Aberdeen because we get to play against a team with a condemned manager, it benefits Aberdeen because we still have Miovski and we're practically at full strength squad wise which might not be the case at the end of January, it benefits Aberdeen because we're on a good run at the moment. It probably doesn't benefit Motherwell but I'm an Aberdeen fan and don't care too much about them. Who is to say winter won't really kick in during February and more games postponed? So that's the rush...
  10. And you realise that the game is being played in Aberdeen not on the roads between Aberdeen and Motherwell? If both teams are in the city, and I believe they are, then the game should go ahead. It's not up to the 'authorities' to decide whether it's safe for the individual to travel. They have to be responsible enough to make that decision for themselves. Just because old Jock can't shift his tractor through his farm road in New Pistligo because it looks like the Somme doesn't mean the game should be off. The conditions in Aberdeen are perfect for a game of football.
  11. Perfect winter's night for football in Aberdeen. I ran 4.5 miles in the morning, and I'll run 4.5 miles home and I've experienced far far worse than today. We might as well get the drama queens on Fubar News to decide whether the game is playable from now on.
  12. Hopefully it won't get postponed, it's stll blowin' a gale but it's forecast to have calmed down by 5pm. Now's the time to play Steelmen whilst Kettlewell remains in post.
  13. Well you seem a fair-minded chap @AJFbut even that admission is galling in itself. All we ask for as paying fans is for the the matches to be refereed fairly and consistently across all teams. What is considered a foul last week, is a foul this week and likewise isn't a foul last week shouldn't be a foul this week. But there's inherent bias in Scotland, most referees will be either green or blue because both clubs are grotesquely larger than any other team in the league.
  14. What the concern is the remarkable amount of times (i.e. nearly every time) these incidents are viewed in favour of Sevco.
  15. You always have a good platform to build on in every fixture with the match officials working for your team.
  16. There may be trouble ahead; however, I fancy a score draw because it will leave neither side entirely satisfied. 1-1.
  17. Interesting post by Mr McLean on OTF. Now I wonder if @tamthebamwas a member of the Supporters Club or the Brake Club? Or is he indeed Mr McLean?
  18. I wasn't saying the situations were comparable, I said that I disagreed with the formation of ICT because it signalled the demise of Inverness Thistle and Inverness Caley. The clubs may have approved but many fans of these two great old clubs didn't and were lost to football in Scotland. Meadowbank Thistle themselves had replaced Ferranti Thistle only twenty or so years previously and had been moved from the Ferranti Thistle home. I suppose what goes around comes around in the case of Meadowbank Thistle. For that reason, I'm not inclined to think that the Livingston/Meadowbank Thistle is on the same level as MK Dons/Wimbledon which I thought was awful, although I'm not entirely comfortable with the Meadowbank situation either.
  19. I must say that I'm inclined to agree with you regarding their origins and the demise of Meadowbank Thistle just as much as I disagree with the formation of 'Inverness Caledonian Thistle'. Neither has really captured the love of their communities yet.
  20. He's got a bit of work to do yet to convince everyone; however, I've been banging his drum since the 1-2 reverse at Tynecatle at the end of last season when I thought he looked lively and had potential whilst most were giving him, what I felt, was unfair criticism. His ball distribution needs to improve though, last night he could've had an assist if he had spotted the pass rather than offering a rather tame shot into the keeper's arms.
