  1. Are Cowdenbeath streaming the game this weekend?
  2. Hope there’s a deal on the table for Telfer sure he won’t be short of options as mentioned above his stats speak for themselves in a poor Falkirk side. Frizz might flourish without Easton. Hopefully he gets more freedom like today. Only a friendly, but all in all a good start.
  3. Think it was logical the club didn’t dismantle the work Murray has done. When initially we heard of Raith’s interest I’d guess we had hoped Aggy would take over, before he made it clear he wanted to go with Murray. Then we moved on to Rhys and Dycey. Yes, it’s a gamble but I’m sure if Rhys didn’t feel capable at this point he wouldn’t have put himself forward. If we had appointed a journeyman manager they’d have probably made wholesale changes, plus we would’ve ran the risk of losing dycey and Rhys two of our best players. I have been waiting on an experienced coach being announced to help out Prunty and Hutton whilst Rhys and Dycey concentrate on the playing side has there been any further talk of this? As far as signings go I think we are far more lucrative than in previous years. Last year as we all know and as I’m sure players out with the club will know there was a real buzz about Airdrie and the attendances at the end showed that there is potential there. I’d hope we are aiming a higher than Livingstone in all honesty. Rae and Ballantyne are two exceptional signings and if we can add more of that calibre I don’t think we have much to worry about.
  4. Last time I heard Homer was a coach at Brentford done well for himself there
  5. Watched Murray’s interview on Raith’s YouTube strange seeing him in another clubs gear. Alludes they’ll probably have to send players out the door or on loan at some stage, could do worse than seeing who’s available there. Sure Murray would be keen to do us a turn if possible. Noticed they’ve sold over 1,000 season tickets already, we’ll be lucky to get half that by the time the season kicks off sadly. If half the 4,000 odd that turned up for the QP game every week we’d have some team. On a side note Raith’s social media coverage is excellent.
  6. Likewise I don’t know the ins and outs of what teams pay but I thought it was encouraging we managed to get Easton from Kelty last season another team you’d imagine would be chucking hefty money about. We have the bonus of offering full time and barring Arbroath we are the highest placed team with part timers. Not all doom and gloom. We might not be the most attractive proposition but far from the worst.
  7. The stats you posted below speak for themself mate it’s a decent return Telfer in a poor side. Players notoriously play poorer in a Falkirk shirt as well. Sure he would do well if something did materialise. Didn’t know the Telfer McCabe connection hopefully Rhys at least asks the question.
  8. Plenty options available. Charlie Telfer maybe worth a shout.
  9. Yeah not panic stations quite yet but hopefully tomorrow or at the latest the start of next week we will hear some news. As much as the fringe players never really played we’ll need to pad the team out with new squad players. Probably 20 is the minimum we should be aiming to run on. Bob McHugh was a player I thought might interest us but I see he’s Signed for East Kilbride. Hopefully get season tickets up for sale too as other clubs are weeks ahead on that front.
  10. McInroy will probably move up to Raith with Murray. Top end championship probably his level. Interesting though, don’t know who advises him but he did the exact same to us in January. Keeps his offer open for a few weeks then chucks it
  11. Think Jamieson is a step above Allan. He’s the only player that I particularly noticed last year. I’m sure nacho could a decent return with a decent run in the team. Probably has all the attributes just lacks height and therefore struggles with the physicality of some teams. On a side note why are Clyde still parading new signings at Broadwood ? Strange.
  12. Saw a few comments saying you’re quite overloaded in the midfield department. Don’t be surprised if Murray finds a way to play most of them in different positions. We often ended games with 4/5 strikers on the park with only maybe 1 midfielder, however, it obviously worked in the large part for us. Aggy was clearly past it last season and a bit of a liability at times, probably just as well he isn’t registered. I’d imagine Brown will be decent always looked a step above in that Peterhead team whenever we played them. Think Murray tried to get him to us but it never came about.
  13. My initial thought when Murray left was ask Aggy if he wanted it. Maybe he thought it came too soon. McCabe certainly didn’t haha. I get the idea of continuity from last season but like you say it will be a totally different team / backroom staff. As far as getting a coach with the relevant badges I’ve been wondering if we could get Sandy Clark in, in some capacity. Sure he would’ve worked with Rhys and Dycey at Dunfermline and possibly QoS also.
  14. First signing of the McCabe era Did Cammy Ballantyne score against us in the playoffs?
  15. Wonder if he’d make a return may as well add another player coach to the mix. Hopefully it happens.
  16. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Wasnt sure about the appointment initially but coming round to the idea. As has been said above McCabe’s experience, leadership and knowledge of the game is clear to see. Think the relationship between the fans and players is as strong as I can ever remember so I’m sure him and Dycey will get plenty of time. Hopefully an experienced coach is coming in to help out along with Prunty staying.
  17. He gave a the ball away in the middle of the park before giving away the penalty, he missed that penalty at Montrose and missed a gilt edge chance against cove at home. He was a joy to watch at times though especially playing against the lower teams, feel he faded a lot in the big games in my opinion. As I say though a joy to watch at times. All the best Easty.
  18. Not saying it’s beyond the realms of possibility just strange if Murray was on his way out since the end of last week. Would be delighted if we’ve pulled it off, however.
  19. Hard to believe we’re signing players without a manager in place.
  20. Not sure on Paterson making the step up to top end championship was steady enough in league 1 but that’s about it in his time at us. As for the Easton and Frizzell talk I’d imagine you’d be in for both. Both stood out in our league especially Easty. When the goings good both will shine, I think in the bigger games and when things weren’t going for us they both kind of faded away a bit and are both a bit lightweight. Easton won’t be short of offers, imagine yous would have a good chance of luring Frizz. One player I’d imagine Murray will defo be eyeing up is Kerr McInroy a standout for us in the first half of the season, not sure how he got on at Ayr but a lot of potential there. All the best to Murray and Raith. Think airdrie were good to Murray and Murray was good to Airdrie. A good time for both clubs to get a fresh start.
  21. Yeah he was sitting with at the Montrose game with Paul Ronald wonder if that’s a possibility. As I said in my previous post I hope Aggy and certainly Prunty will stay on.
  22. I’d echo mybitchunderprotest’s post. Like the McInroy situation in January the longer it rumbled on this week and last week the less likely he was staying. I pass on my best wishes to Murray, I’ve always been a fan of his, he’s produced the best airdrie footballing side in years but let’s not get overly misty eyed here. Ultimately we’ve came up short. Hes been given time to build (more than most clubs would afford) and he has improved us year on year but ultimately he’s not achieved our goal of getting out this league in 4 attempts. This season has been excellent especially the second half of the season but our record in the “Big” games has been poor and that’s what keeps costing us. I think Murray has been good to the club and the fans and vice versa, there’s obviously a good rapport there and I’m sure he will get a good reception at NB in the future but It maybe is time for a fresh start for us too. Id reiterate though he leaves with my best wishes and deserves a crack at championship. As for us I hope the board have been sounding out candidates already as the writing was on the wall a bit. Not sure who I’d go for but possibly Kettlewell, Allan Johnston or Jim McIntyre. Hope That prunty stays on and Aggy if he doesn’t go with Murray. Hope the club has offers on the table for most of the squad because there is a good core already here even with a few leaving. No need for wholesale change.
  23. I would suggest the opposite. The title has imo been over for a few weeks. I thought Clyde would’ve wanted to turn up and put in a performance for the occasion which obviously had significance to yourselves. As Ian Murray said we had a few players not risked in this game with all eyes on the playoffs. Agnew, Watson, Gabby McGill and Frizzell all out, all of which would’ve probably started. Subbing our Keeper, our RB MacDonald ending the game up front it felt more like a training game for us. Make no mistake Clyde have got away with one this season, turmoil off the park and a poor team on it. With the league getting stronger again next season, Clyde will be an absolute shoo-in for relegation.
  24. If Murray gets us promoted and ”IF” he leaves for Falkirk, Hibs, Raith or whoever then so be it and he will leave with my best wishes. As it stands though I’m sure he knows he’s got it good at airdrie he’s unanimously well liked, he’s been given time to build a team and backroom staff of his choosing and we are currently having our best season in a long time. If I was Murray I’d be holding out for a more stable club than Falkirk though we all know if they get off to a bad/average start again next season he’ll be out the door. The grass isn’t always greener with Leon McCann the number 1 example. From an Airdrie point of view I hope he stays and we can retain this squad hopefully for a shot at the championship. *Also I find this chat about a youth academy strange I’ve no idea why we’d want on we’ve got the best squad we’ve had in years because all our money can be spent on the first team squad.
