  1. I've always been a vinyl junkie. Spotify is just something I never gave much thought to. You cant get too obscure with it but most of the time it comes up with the goods.
  2. At the start of the year I was amongst the top 0.1% of Spotify haters. Then I got ill and was surprised to learn that I couldn't take my record player into hospital. So I got on my niece's Spotify and... it's ok. I embraced a small piece of the technology and my head didn't explode. So apparently I have listened a fair bit to Windy & Carl, Celer, Alex Albrecht, Huerco S, Sven Wunder, Low, Tangled Shoelaces, Horsegirl and GAS.
  3. Today, it can only be this. This was always my drunk at 3 in the morning song. It is unbelievably silly in the same way as "Spirit Of The Radio" or "Don't Stop Believing" but it means a great deal to me. Today Mr. John Miles shuffled off this mortal coil, but what a treat he left us. All his other songs were shite, but ladies and gentlemen, pray silence please.
  4. I had a big 60's phase as a teenager. Initially I loved the psychedelic era. Sgt Pepper, Smile bootlegs, Notorious Byrd Brothers and Odessey and Oracle were all big favourites. I must have watched Head by The Monkees a hundred times. This was and still is a big favourite of mine.
  5. SKC beat Vancouver 3-1. They were the better team throughout but Vancouver were right in it until the third goal knocked the stuffing out of them after about an hour. And what a stunning goal it was. Well worth checking out if you didn't see it. Poor game for both the Scots. Gauld was totally anonymous. SKC look a better bet than Philly.
  6. Sensational goal to win it. Thought the match started off well but then it followed that well worn path of two teams more scared of losing than pushing for a winner.
  7. The play offs are underway. Philly Union up against the Red Bulls in the first match. Union should win but anything can happen now. This is just the warm up for me. Johnny Russell's SKC against Ryan Gauld's Vancouver should be a cracker later on. SKC for me. Both games on Sky Sports Football channel.
  8. You didn't think they'd slip up today though surely? No, I did not but in games recently when I thought they might, they haven't.
  9. Don't think you could have bet on anybody outwith Broughty, Carnoustie or Lochee to win the league at the start of season but it really is beginning to look like East Craigie are going to do a Leicester. I keep waiting for them to trip up but it just isn't happening. Obviously we're out of the running and whilst Lochee and Carnoustie are still very much in it, I think my fiver would be on EC right now.
  10. I knew there was something else that new Huerco track reminded me of.
  11. Hugely exciting news for about 3 people in that Huerco S has announced a new album, "Plonk" due for release on 25th February. He'd led people to believe that his last album, the magnificent "For Those Of You Who Have Never (And Also Those Who Have) would be his last and that he had retired to the desert to fix cars or something but 6 years on, here we are. I didn't expect another ambient masterpiece, and if the first track to appear from it is anything to go by, it's not. There is definitely more than a hint of mid 90's classic Aphex about this but it also harks back to Huerco's earlier EP's. Anyway, shit day just got a lot better.
  12. Just caught up with the highlights of Canada v Mexico. Magnificent stuff. How Mexico missed that chance in the 93rd minute is beyond me but it was a well deserved victory for Canada. Top of the group now too. Definitely having a moment. Hopefully this will be their time. I see that the Mexicans are already pointing out that this was the coldest ever match for the national team with temperatures touching -9 at kick off. USA blundering towards qualification. If you haven't already, check out Jamaica's equalizer. McFadden-esque. Canada and USA will qualify as 1 and 2. I wouldn't, however, be putting any money on Mexico holding off the challenge of Panama for the third qualifying spot.
  13. Imagine not liking any films. What a total fucking moron.
  14. A shocker. Nothing else to say regarding our result on Saturday but very well done to Dundee St.James. To get a result like that in their first season at this level is not to be sniffed at.
  15. Just amazing last night. My first trip to Hampden for several years and if my doctors are right, probably my last. Finally though got to see Scotland take on a top side and dominate them. This was no Italy or France where we score and then set up camp on the 18 yard line for a smash and grab win. We really fucked them didn't we? What a great night. 11 heroes last night but Che Adams gets my vote. First time I've seen him in the flesh. Strong as f**k.
  16. And it makes the forum a worse experience when folk can spout nonsense then backpedal with "I was just exaggerating". Don't you worry sonny jim. I wasn't exaggerating. They really are that bad.
  17. Then what are we? Unless we beat Denmark by six tomorrow Portugal will have had a better qualification than us. Nobody claims Scotland are a great side though. Some people still have Portugal as one of the best teams in Europe. I watched them against both Eire and Serbia and they were atrocious in both games. I'd happily take Portugal in the play-offs.
