If Broomhill do eventually go down will they even want to kick about the West of Scotland Leagues?

I can see them calling it a day.  They are so far away from where they began, their financial backer(s) are going to get fed-up eventually chucking the money in to keep them afloat. They ain't hiring Dumbarton for free.

    Ok children calm down...

the below containers have been installed which are toilets and a food cube but not completed yet and more will arrive. The portaloos were taken away due to the fact we didn't have a home game in 7 weeks and now don't have one for another 3 weeks so wasn't much point. The sporty provided toilets for the pollok guys and same for our last game v Hurlford.

full hospitality was given to the committee (who didn't turn up) and the players who we gifted 3 goals lol

see all you lovely people next season where I'm expecting Arthurlie and Polloks grounds to offer sushi or any hospitality for that matter. Well maybe we won't see Arthurlie right enough.

    thanks all

It's taken a decade to move from portaloos to recycled container toilets?

  3. If you charge an entry fee, you should be obligated to provide M/F toilets at the very minimum, preferably hot/cold drinks as well.  This isn't the 19th century, well......

I was at Linton Hotspur yesterday, a new EoS club from the Border Amateurs. Great set-up, large bar area servig food and drinks with TV & seating, another hospitality area under construction (all using new Portacabin style buildings), toilets and a seated stand for about 50.   Their attendances are less than 100.

If a club lke that can provide facilities, surely clubs who spend £000's on players can as well.

Making relegation easier so you can be promoted back more readily isn’t that a compelling vision - SPFL sides aren’t that myopic.  And yes pretty sure over time an SPFL club will make the return journey and a former Tier 5 club will fall back to that level

Almost certainly but in the short term it's only going to get harder as the Edinburgh Uni's and Gretna's of this world depart to be replaced by much better teams. That has a fair way yet to play out, and I'll stick my neck out by saying a former SPFL team will drop to tier 6 before one returns to tier 4  (in the LL).

Thanks, I wasn’t aware there was a lump sum payment made each year, other than Scottish Cup appearance money.

It's effectively profit sharing.  So this year should be a decent whack on the back of Euro24 income.

There’s no evidence on CSS social media that they have any fan based schemes to raise money.   What SFA payments other than Scottish Cup money are you referring to?

Agreed though, the coaching staff do a fantastic job.

Well member clubs receive their annual payment in December each year, and depends on what level you're playing at.  It's anywhere between £4,000 to £12,000 in recent years for EoS clubs.  Then there's Scottish Cup appearance money on top of that.   Then of course, there was a Covid payment in 2021 from the National Lottery via the SFA which for LL clubs amounted to around £20,000.

I have no idea but if it is then I can only assume they have gotten around that by pointing to the leisure centre toilets and vending machines.

Having been there, that's not a solution.  It really is tin pot that a Premier club doesn't have toilets in their ground, a disgrace really and part of the problem okaying 3g cages.

I have time for every club at this level trying to make the best of what they have but I have to say, it is a disgrace that MTC Park is considered an acceptable venue to charge £8 to watch a game at. No toilets, no food and the capacity must be tiny(not helped by dedicating half of the touchline to the small volume of home fans). Overtakes New Tinto as the worst venue in the league and it's not even close.

Isn't it a WoSFL regulation that there must be toilet and food facilities inside the ground?

Surely there has to be, even to a lesser extent?

Their crowds are averaging 80, say they are all adults paying £8, so that’s £640 per game.   Not much over £10k on gate money for the whole season.

I think they do a bit of hospitality, no lottery that I am aware of, maybe they are very well sponsored?

Clubs like CCS don't survive on gate money alone. Lottery, raffles, bar takings, sponsors, SFA payments all add to it.  Players may also be paid not much more than expenses.  Either way, Jardine and his coaches do a tremendous job.

Never really paid much attention to the 'B' teams, but the one benefit that I would have expected is an increase in the crowd counts when they visit.  The table doesn't reflect that.  I'm also surprised at how low the crowd counts are for their home games.

It's as if nobody really cares about watching the emerging talent at Celtic and Hearts 🤷‍♂️

I'd say an average of 268 is very decent for what amounts to U20 football (only 12 less than Albion Rovers, 20 less than Cowdenbeath), the 6th best average in the league. Celtic perhaps not so much.

On the flip side Gala's top two league crowds were against the B teams, Linlithgow got their second and third biggest against the B teams, CCS their biggest and third biggest. Stirling Uni third and fourth. Broomhill and Cumbernauld got their largest crowds against Celtic B.

That's a benefit in a league where you have four or five clubs that literally bring no fans at all.
