  1. A bit like the Loch Ness Monster and the Ark of the Covenant, spoken about a lot but probably don't exist in reality. Certainly not in evidence during today's shit show.
  2. Fair point - for the avoidance of doubt I'd fire the whole arrangement into the sea. However, 'Democratically elected head of state of the South' doesn't exactly trip off the tongue.
  3. Celtic have been fined multiple times by UEFA for political displays which break UEFA rules. I'm not comfortable with everything UEFA have done in this sphere, but surely that shows that football authorities can discipline clubs even if the behaviour in question is not illegal?
  4. I've always found Catholic royalists a bit odd. In fairness those you have mentioned are/were odd (to put it mildly) for a variety of reasons. You would think that The Honourable Member for the 18th century would be familiar with the terms of the Act of Settlement, and find them just a wee bit problematic? I suppose part of the problem is the ludicrous role of the monarch as head of the Church of England.
  5. You've reminded me of a train trip to Palmerston from the weeg a few years back for a Queens v Thistle Scottish Cup tie. The Thistle fans sang a wee ditty, which IIRC went as follows - "If you want to go to heaven when you die, you must wear a Thistle jacket and a tie, you must wear a Thistle bonnet, with **** the Old Firm on it, if you want to go to heaven when you die." At which point an elderly gentleman rose to his feet, wagged a finger at the singers and said "You are totally out of order lads.... there's no such thing as the Old Firm any more."
  6. Delighted for my City pals. Now back it up with at least a draw on Saturday please
  7. Finishing 7th in the league? What a beautiful dream.........
  8. Remember Angry Al well, the anarchist civil servant.
  9. Any team that has a game called off because of rainfall is an embarrassment - https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangers-vs-livingston-called-after-21502906
  10. Crowdfunding to Raise funds for various Community Projects for children to use the power of football to positively impact their lives. on JustGiving Not sure if this has been highlighted on here already, but even if it has worth a wee bump for a great cause.
  11. Agreed there is no rule but given the risk of bad weather common sense dictates that the game is scheduled for the first available date. There are lots of examples of diddy teams being forced to play games ASAP.
  12. Quite incredible that the powers that be are looking at playing a game which is meaningful for both teams behind closed doors. That's the way to grow the game. Of course our old friend 'sporting integrity' means that it is better for all meaningful games in the last round pre split to start at the same time. However, one game was arranged for Sunday ages ago. If County had gone on a great run and could conceivably hit top 6 would that have been moved back to 3pm on Saturday
  13. His career started with a promotion to the top league in 61-62 and finished with promotion from the third tier to the second tier in 80-81. A to pro and by all accounts a very nice man too. I wonder how many games he played with Allan Ball?
  14. I think Logan is OK, would have Efe for Mckay, Gav for Joel who presumably can't play and McGuffie for Ferguson.
