  1. Edinburgh city where the main driver to get the LL up and running along with Preston ath.and whitehill.
  2. The nominated club thats put forward,is the club the lowland league nominates as its champion.thats the rule!!!
  3. Think you'll find that will not happen both the spfl and sfa(which to me are the same) agreed these rules with the highland and lowland leagues and passed them once the boundary was moved.
  4. I can honestly say that games iv'e the colts play.there as been none of songs or shouts you refer to.that might just be another driver for them being in the LL these players are not being subjected to that inviroment and they can concentrate on developing these players.big crowd at bonnyrigg never heard any songs or bad behaviour by the colts fans
  5. When the lowland league was first formed with these 12 clubs you did not need a licence. these clubs had to work towards gaining a licence.i can only think of 2 clubs from the junior league who would have qualified girvin.and linlithgow at the time or just after.dont know how many present west clubs have theirs.?
  6. That's not what was asked!!! it must be successful for them in their opinion. which is the one that counts, or they wouldn't have asked for another season.now hearts seem intereste.so there must be something thier getting out of it.
  7. They must be getting something out of it in their opinion that they wish to continue doing it for next season.and offered to increase their payments.
  8. Explain, how you think they've been a failure.and how they've devalued the league.
  9. The colts dont play association cups.my club voted against them twice
  10. Your correct they never. as all the clubs were sfa member clubs.and i dont really think there was any place for them to go as they were all tier 5. and they asked the sfa they wish to stay at 18 but the lowland league was capped at 16.to be fair i think it was done quickly to put the pyramid in place again not looking for a argument on this but thats my opinion on it.
  11. League of 16 competitive teams.the colts are guest clubs.
  12. The history lesson you gave me was very informative. but since the pyramid has been set up the desired number is 16.thats why both eos and wos are going to 16 from next season.the highland league was at 18 when going into the pyramid setup.i belive i may be wrong on this when cove got promoted they approached bod who refused to join when brechin went to the shfl it brought the number back up to 18 given that most if not all clubs in the shfl were licensed or on the verge of being there sfa agreed to 18 members when the pyramid started.
  13. Sorry i stand corrected i knew they did run with a odd number at one time.the sfa set the number of lowland league teams at 16.they did run with 17 at one point but then kelty got promoted
  14. because the sfa set the league numbers.the highland league ran with 19 i think until elgin got into the spfl.highland league are at 18 which they have been for a few years now.
  15. I honestly think people who thought it would be 3 up 3 down were expecting to much!!! 1 up automatically and a second up after a play off with club 15 is more realistic thats what happens above tier 5. Keep in mind theres always the chance of another club from the spfl dropping down if a highland league side wins the play off.also theres no automatic promotion from the lowland league.
  16. Breath of fresh air answer at last.yes the colts are not holding any club back.its the promotion bottle neck into the spfl thats doing it.
  17. Look at it this way, some members of the sfa board are also members of the spfl.they will most always do what's best for them just look at the dundee fiasco.
  18. The sfa are virtually powerless!!! in this situation, the spfl (42 clubs) are the ones that hold the power.their a different organisation with their own rules as they run the league they can vote against well anything as its a members organisation, given that tier 5 is under that umbrella as well LL,HL. Have to play under these rules from the start, for 3 seansons there was no play of to the spfl.then they wanted club to be licenced before they could get into the play off, when speaking to Neil Doncaster about anything his war cry was always i'll take this to my members for them to vote on.
  19. Edinburgh city one of the lowland league founder members.also have progressed up the spfl with a budget which was less than some present LL and HL clubs.
  20. No not true!! The eos and sos where single leagues playing at tier 6.funny thing i remember the sjfa pushing the west Premier league forward and they would take any clubs wishing to stay junior.then adopting the old stance if you take one club you take them all, stating thats the mandate the clubs gave them
  21. Is that for appearing on the Sportscene highlights ? Yes its the money paid to s.f.a from bbc and sky.
  22. If knocked out in the Preliminary Round this season the exit payment was £2200. If knocked out in the First Round this season the exit payment was £5000. I was referring £600 for video appearance as all scottish cup games are recorded not the round money.
  23. Plus appearance money for taking part in the Scottish Cup, even if they lose in the first Preliminary Round. Clubs at tier 5 get £4,000 around xmas from the s f a for being licensed if the national does well you get a increased payment which varies.the most we received was £12.000. and its usually £600 for scottish cup appearance money if knocked out in the 1st round.
  24. Sorry!!! missed a couple of letters and words out.got my specs back on.you dead right about spartans and s.uni.a over sight on our part at the time,
  25. Again a very well put analogy. When the lowland league was open to applications, any junior teams who were brave enough to apply would have walked straight in even 1 or 4 teams the lowland league would have given them priority over any other (fact) which was said to me 4 weeks ago by the then league chairman there was no west of league then but any of these clubs would then have to choose sos or eos if ever relegation happened ( dont think it would)also there would be another 2 ex junior clubs in the with the recent changes, the rose and kelty. am not looking for a argument as i said just pretty disrespectful calling the clubs who were brave at the time to take their chance. as some of them didn't have a first team they only had under 21s and lower. just trying to point out that the bcs.c colts. the unis css all to the chance when it was there,
