  1. Glos County Lge : Hardwicke 1 Hanham 5 att 30+ another nail in the relegation coffin as the hosts crumbled. They should have been ahead, but wasted 3 glorious chances in the 1st half. Poor defending cost them dearly, and wasting a penalty at 14 summed things up.
  2. Forgive me if I sound insane, but isn't the idea of playing football - win lose or draw - means clubs get promoted, relegated and the rest happily stagnate. I was under the impression that the Reserve/Colts/ Spare players X1/ couldn't be promoted, so what's the bloody point ? Said it many times, Spfl, sort out your own reserve league and leave the 'proper' football clubs alone
  3. Glos County Lge at Pomphrey Hill Playing fields : Bromley Heath Utd 2 Almondsbury 1 att 35/40 Just a late consolation for the Almonds as they stay in bottom three, not a bad game, plenty of effort but lacking in quality. With Avonmouth F.C already champions its the relegation scrap keeping things going.
  4. My week finishes back at Benburb for the West Scotland Cup semi final's : Armadale (airdrie) v Troon Town (ayr) 7-0 gulf in class and ability clear to see, guess well done Troon on making it thus far. Pather FC (airdrie) v Maryhill Milan (gdsfl) 2-1 apart from a late surge,Milan never really got any control v a lively, hard working Pather side who thoroughly deserved the win. Att around 150+ over the two games.
  5. Enjoyed the Glasgow v Gow game, didnt think they'd turn it around, but once they levelled they looked the only winners. Utd defence caught out being too square, not tracking back on occasions. Looking at the tables id say 'Gow were in with a shout of being top 3 - look a decent side.
  6. Glasgow Utd (daft name and a shame the club was closed) v Lesmahagow 23. Game end to end, the hosts seemed ok when they restored lead for 21 but the Gow hit back with two quick goals 2nd half - and looked more of a threat suddenly.Glasgow had half chances to level, really enjoyable in a lovely old ground - in front of a decent crowd.
  7. A stormy night at Stepford for Easterhouse 3 Saltcoats 2 att prob 50ish. With the gale with them the hosts raced into a 3 goal lead, the visitors struggling to escape their own half. A half time grilling must have done the trick as Salts got back in 31, 32, and almost grabbed a point right at the death. Fair game in the conditions, more noise coming from the Development game behind !
  8. Euro qualifier at St.Mirren : Scotland under 21 v Kazakhstan 4-1 att 1022. Convincing win v limited opponents, the young scots did enough for the important 3pts without having to stretch themselves. Some good football at times, quicker all round, the visitors got a late pen for their efforts.
  9. Centenary Shield at Stenny : Scotland u18 v N.Ire 02 att probs 250. Decent game, young Irish playing the better stuff and should have had more - both well taken goals, the Scots ran out of ideas 2nd half.
  10. Agree 100% with match report, guess you have to add in the number of wayward efforts from the Swifts - especially 2nd half, but a decent game with Kinnoull looking a threat going forward and never giving up. Didnt look a bad crowd, and a nice ground in the making.
  11. Jeanfield 4 Kinnoull 3 two early clangers by the gk made it 20 , then a hectic 21/31/32/42/43 kept it going until the end. Swifts wasted several shots, flying wide and not very handsome, to have killed the game off. They look good going forward but always gave Kinnoull a.chance. Decent pie, the ground a.work in progress, nice set up. Does anyone use the athletics stadium up the road ?
  12. Musselburgh 2 Sauchie 1 visitors had 1st half chances, forcing some good saves, fell behind when a great cross was well taken. 20 after a flowing move ended being thumped home. Sauchie back into it 21, then the hosts had a red card around 70 mins (harsh imo) However wayward finishing and good defending gave Mussy the deserved points. Decent game and ground.
  13. Decent crowds for the hop then, I tend to do my own thing in Scotland (usually on holiday) i enjoy the area, grounds , games, and a pint or two in the local. All non Lge is run by volunteers, so don't expect progs, team sheets or a 3 course meal at the pie hut. I continue my break probably at Musselburgh tonight.
  14. Part 2 at Drumoyne Park : Glasgow Irish 3 Maryhill Milan 3. Going 31 up, the leaders got complacent bringing on all the subs, and got sloppy at the back against a lively Irish attack. Both sides weren't able to move in units, leaving massive gaps for breakaways, fitness shouldn't be a factor in March.Despite the heavy rain at times, enjoyable stuff and credit to the Irish on their comeback.
  15. First part of gdsfl double starts at Petershill : Glasgow Caledonian 0 Maryhill Blackstar 6. att 8 and 1 dog. Dominant performance, the older heads keeping control - while motm Justo Bernardo ran Caley ragged, quick and skilful.
  16. My last week of the season begins at the Rec for Darvel 3 Ardrossan 1. The visitors made a game of it, quickly making things 1-1. They switched off as a cross came over, to fall 2-1 behind in the first half. Darvel flew out of the traps, scoring quickly into the 2nd half which in reality, killed the game off. After that, class told, even though AWR kept going until the end. Be interesting to see what ground improvements are made into the future.
  17. Most Bristol non league clubs crowds have dwindled, lots of the old guys dying off , youngsters having too many choices, the only real increase is over at Bath City where they've grown to around the thousand mark. (prob students, locals, those anti rugby etc) Plus the big number of non league clubs in the Bristol area is still massive.
  18. At Lodge Road for Southern Lge : Yate Town (Bristol) v Bideford (north Devon) 1-0 att 258. An early og which flew into the net, was enough to give the 'Bluebirds' all 3 points v the 'Robins'. The visitors didn't create enough chances to level, while the hosts played some decent stuff - overplaying and wasteful at times. Good to get a game at least, not a bad standard.
  19. Thanks for the info, could squeeze some games in - dependant on whether i get a full week of games in Scotland.
  20. Throwing this one in, how easy is it to go from scot to ireland, and get to games using public transport etc ? Just if i have blank days to find a game ️
  21. Hellenic : Stonehouse Town (near Stroud) v Chipping Sudbury (Bristol) 1-1 att 72. £5 decent game, things got niggly 2nd half as the game wore on. The Sod's down to ten men after off the ball incident around 70 mins, but both had chances to win the game. Things almost kicked off after sending off, due to having no segregation from pitch to changing rooms - with a seething mob baying for blood ha ha.
  22. Would be a cracking stand and pavilion upgrades - will pay a visit sometime soon. Congrats to all Scottish clubs and their endless ground improvements
  23. Hopefully the youth section can thrive, and the club can rejoin the adult leagues sometimes. Can remember seeing their old ground, in disrepair, but a shame it couldn't be sorted and rebuilt. Seems yet another money laden twat with few brain cells. Good luck to all those still involved with the club.
  24. Western Lge Div 1 : Keynsham Town 1 Warminster 1 att 112. Wasteful visitors inc a pen that flew way over the bar ( after a handball on the line - straight red) Two young sides, limited number of players around the Bath area. Plenty of effort, lack of a striker for both sides very clear.
