I know its a facetious comment, but as someone who knows a victim from late 80s early 90s thats exactly what he wants. Seemed to be common knowledge at Barrowfield by staff and parents that end of game team talks would take place in the showers and last an inappropriate length of time but none of them ever reported it (to his knowledge).

Victims aren't a homogenous group either, some want those responsible named without losing their own anonymity as they haven't properly dealt with it themselves, some peoples only recourse has been to sue in a civil court. Sadly my mate refuses to talk about it at all unless pushed to open up under the influence.

Why is he being pushed to open up about it whilst drunk? Shite friend patter that.

In Inverness city center today and the good weather had brought out into the open many members of the armies of darkness. Sad, since I never saw any other football tops or merchandise of other teams. I would figure the same would be in many towns in the north of Scotland including Dingwall and Alness. It was like Inverness had suddenly teleported to the south-west of Scotland.

As the only representatives of Highland football in the top flight, County need to stop rolling over for these mutants and finally beat them into that desperate conspiracy meltdown that is just bubbling below the surface in their heads on Sunday afternoon. I was unaware until yesterday that this tragic 20-0 loss stat exists (only 4 draws), it needs to end for the good of Scottish football and Scottish football needs a new chapter for the banter years. Plus I want to see County stay up more than I give a shit about who wins the f***ing title.

Jeez, and I mean they greet about standards of other football clubs in the top flight, that is f***ing rich irony coming from them with their track record.

    Suns out. **** out.

Poor old arab_r_us. One of the select group of people who look cleverer by not saying anything.

I wonder if the recent Ibrox and Sellick statements are a prelude to demands that:

1 If wee diddy teams cannae control their local weather ALL OLD FIRM GEMMES, HOME AND AWAY, SHOULD BE PLAYED AT IBRIX AND PARKHEID.

2 Old Firm should employ, train and control all refs, linos, fourth officials and VAR operatives. Y'know, even more than we do already.

Not really sure what point 1 has to do with big bad Celtic.

Point 2, we’ve joined forces with Aberdeen to ensure we run the game from all angles.

Obviously I wasn't out there planting a boot on the pitch last Saturday but essentially it looked absolutely fine... you'd hope whatever temporary fixes Dundee have work again. If you could net on it, I reckon it'll get played Wednesday as planned.

Personally I wouldn't mind it being delayed a week if needs must but you imagine Motherwell (and Hibs obviously) would go tits about sporting integrity given forcing Dundee to play behind closed doors on Thursday, say, would suit us perfectly.

They’ve got a European game next week

I agree with all of that.  Anything that helps the victims for me or makes life easier should be done.

Nobody should use such an atrocity as any form of point scoring nor a way to try and belittle sporting success but it should be in the public eye.   Even if we won't know everyone, if people are known to have known about this then it should be revealed.

I can’t remember the guys name but there was a running joke in junior football from the 70’s to 80’s about a physio you’d go to if you fancied a new pair of boots.

Don't think he ever got reported but got rinsed by many for new kit, before he got a doin’.

Although that’s another issue, years gone by a lot of these things were dealt with very differently.

If he knew and failed to say anything then he should be.  As should any former players, managers and coaching staff.   regardless of their standings in Scottish footballing history.

I’m all for it, even if I think it’ll change utterly f**k all to the way people view a clubs success.

Ultimately, the names of those that knew about it or covered it up,  be it true it not, are already very much out there. Especially at Celtic because, well, certain fan bases seem to think it’ll result in title stripping and the club to die. So a lot of digging was down, some of it very good work.

It’s obviously a bit more difficult with all of the names flung out by some in desperation to tarnish club achievements as it’s muddied the waters.

Then there’s all the cases across Scottish football at varying levels, it’s been going on and hidden at so many clubs, down south included that, let’s be blunt, we’ll never know everyone that was involved or complicit.

Victims of this will know of former staff/managers who knew and decided to cover it up.   How do you think that makes them feel when they are known as heros?

In the same way that anyone that knew about the likes of Epstien was up to but decided to not say a word (prince andrew anyone) employees of celtc who knew this was going on and swept it under the carpet should be put to shame at the very least for helping cover up these crimes against young boys.

Can’t wait for wee Shug the janitor to be named and shamed.

Hopefully it also means full accountability and it should be made known all former players/staff/managers of the club who knew about it but decided to do or say nothing about it while this vile abuse was taking place.

As far as I'm aware It's a civil case for compensation and being paid out of court so I doubt much of the information will be disclosed. I doubt anyone is still around at the club now from then too so not quite sure what your getting at really.

He’s talking about former individuals, but I’m not really sure what he’s looking for would actually accomplish either.

See that Celtic have agreed to pay compensation for the child sex abuse scandal.

Article I read was on The Times I’m sure so a reasonable source and it talked about multi-millions in terms of compensation.

Been in the works for some time, offer was made to the solicitors representing the victims (Thompson’s?) months ago.

The usual gremlins have jumped on it demanding titles being stripped, position on the stock market investigated etc.

Can only hope this brings some closure to the victims and their families for the abhorrent acts that went on.
