  1. I think so yes coz most players sign with the club because of the club or the lads within it. If they’re good enough to play in the premier then they will have other options for that level surely and would be able to go elsewhere if that was they’re sole driving force... no doubt this season will prove the hardest yet in enticing lads to sign for various reasons.
  2. I would like to think they would still be able to attract the level of player they require for they’re individual purposes, these sides don’t lose they’re creditably in the close season surely unless they’re is a mass loss of players or structure. I know some sides are back training in groups of 5 with the second group coming at the end of the first groups session. Better than nothing I suppose.
  3. Exactly! I don’t see the difference between professional adults full contact training and Amateur adults full contact training?? I see amateur teams returning to training soon.
  4. Ayrshire leagues are null and void, start again nxt season in same league, premier will play with 11 teams.
  5. From what I’ve read and listened too the virus when in the air is subject to the elements, like being blown away by the wind etc. Open spaces were considered the least contagious places to be as long as there was a distance from others who potentially could have been infected. Because we are a contact sport though unless players are pre tested before the game then I cannot see how we can return until this testing before playing issue is sorted or the numbers are such that there is no transmission happening.
  6. True mate doesn’t help when there is no communication from the authorities of any kind.
  7. Just to play devils advocate then, all football in the country is suspended till June 10th and that’s when senior teams resume training, does anyone think our game can resume to some degree then?
  8. As of today players can sign for other sides. How hard is it keeping squads together seen as they’ve not been together in so long and will we see more teams going to the wall than usual?
  9. It’s a very hard question to pick a top ten as there has been so many good players over the years. Personally, like so many guys I’ve been about Ayrshire football for over 10 years and seen some really great players so I couldn’t pick 10 but looking at the lists already been put up I’d agree with a lot of those guys.
  10. I’m due to murder her so the sooner it resumes the better!
  11. Keeping guys interested and in the loop with your club is the biggest challenge coz like you said with having so big a break lads will undoubtedly look to fill their time with something else if possible. End of the day when it does get back up and running it will come down to how high up their list of priorities playing amateur football comes as to wether guys get back playing or not. Ur love for what u do is measured by how much u miss it when ur not able too, let’s hope lads miss it enough to get back on the wagon.
  12. Especially frustrating if you’ve had a good season, worked hard and on course to potentially be successful, must be a kick in the teeth.
  13. Dunno about other associations but aye ur right Ayrshire has confirmed leagues and cups null and void and national and regional cups completed at earliest available date.
  14. Yep just replay it all again nxt season, all that hard work etc for f**k all. Bit annoying but understandable.
  15. Don’t see the difference between games and training to be honest so I’d think most will be taking time off. I know we are until further notice.
  16. What happens with the potential league winners and relegation candidates especially if other teams can still mathematically win and go down also? Plus at this stage of the season some teams have less than 10 games left and have been the best side over the course of the season, is it fair they are denied what could be a league winning season ?
  17. Galston 1-9 crosshouse. Galston in a sorry state, 11 players and 2 of them were keepers.
  18. Aye I’d agree with that, excellent going forward and would coz most teams problems but would defo need to bring in a bit of experience at the back if they go up.
  19. It’ll be a lot closer than u think although I do think Shortlees will have too much in the end.
  20. Aye it’s to be wet and wild all week so dunno if many games will survive this week again.
