  1. Yes, definitely one worth signing for next season if we can reach an agreement with Hibs, I think he is still under contract with them?
  2. Does anyone know if tickets for the Montrose game will be sold online or via paper tickets distributed by FFC? Capacity at Montrose is 3292 so there could be a scramble for tickets once they go on sale.
  3. Sounds like we have now exceeded 5000 home ticket sales?
  4. Only 150 or so tickets left in the Main Stand upper tier. Lets get the Main Stand bottom tier sold out next week!
  5. Seeing as finance seems to be the current hot topic how about this for an idea for funding the new fourth stand? Next season add £1 to ticket prices, this amount to be ring fenced and placed in an account to be used solely for the purpose of building of a new stand. On the face of it it doesn't seem a lot of money but say we have roughly 100,000 people through the gates in a season then five years from now we would have in the region of £500k banked. No doubt we would need to iron out a few issues re VAT etc. Once we have the 500k in the bank then the club can start approaching larger investors and sponsors to raise enough to get the construction under way. If this is not possible due to lack of investors, economic situation etc then the £1 levy just keeps rolling on and in 10 years we will have raised £1 million. Pretty simplistic approach I know but as they say the longest journey starts with the first step. If we don't make a start on doing something the we will be sitting here in 5/10 years bemoaning the fact we still don't have a stand.
  6. I think that's the route Ayr United are going down, the new stand will have 700 seats at the back but with terracing retained in front of the seating. Also hospitality boxes catering for 100 plus behind the new seats.
  7. I see that Ayr United's redevelopment of their uncovered terracing is now taking shape and is due to be finished in time for the start of next season. Costs are quoted at £2 million which in this day and age doesn't sound too bad. Do you think a similar solution of seats with terracing at the front would work at the Falkirk Stadium?
  8. Remember hospitality prices charged don't actually reflect what the club receives, a large proportion will go to the Council who I believe run the catering side of things. Also, the club only receive a small percentage from any drinks purchased in the Main Stand.
  9. Yes, four of us headed to the bar at half time at the last home game. Missed the first 5 minutes of the second half mind you!
  10. Surely a contract extension at a higher rate of pay signed now would kick in when the current contract expires and wouldn't therefore cost the club anything until later this summer? If not, then its not an extension that's being signed but a new contract.
  11. Was trailed on the club FB page as being drawn at 2pm today if I remember correctly. Not sure why the silence, perhaps they haven't been able to get in touch with the winner? Pretty sure they would be wanting to get them in for a publicity shot etc to promote the new lotto.
  12. Yes, I think they wait until the two finalists have been confirmed before making a decision on the venue. Would be brilliant though for 7000 Bairns fans to descend on East End Park to watch us beat another team from Fife
  13. Getting ahead of things slightly I know but if Raith see off Airdrie in the other semi and we manage to win our semi then a Falkirk V Raith final in front of 10/12k at Tynecastle or Easter Road would be a game to look forward to.
  14. Since starting paying my FSS membership two years ago annual inflation has been 2.6%, 9.1% and for 2023 is estimated to be 7% or thereabouts. So, my initial monthly contribution of £10 is effectively down to an approximate equivalent of £8.30, (apologies if my maths is wrong but you get the idea). I'll be setting up a standing order for future payments and will increase it to counter the effect of inflation plus a bit extra for good luck. However it got me wondering, should the FSS be looking to increase the minimum monthly fee in line with inflation every year? This was probably not an issue when funds were being used to purchase shares in the Club but now that funds are going straight into the playing budget no doubt players will be looking for an increase in their weekly wage to counter the effects of inflation. Will doing nothing and keeping the minimum at £10 mean that over time the FSS contributions will diminish in real terms and take up a smaller and smaller part of the budget? If so will the relationship between FSS and the Club change?
  15. A reminder that the Falkirk Football Heritage Trust are having an open day at the Stadium this afternoon between 2 and 4 o’clock. An opportunity to see the newly unveiled heritage panels in the hospitality lounges featuring Alex Parker, John Markie, Vic McKinney and Darren Barr as well as the story of the 1957 Scottish Cup win.
  16. I believe the club looked at retrofitting the North Stand to mirror the mezzanine layout in the KM Stand but costs were prohibitive and the idea was dropped.
  17. It's nowhere near a certainty that we will end up as Champions this season but achieving three league wins out of four against Hamilton would go a long towards it. A week on Saturday will be a big test, let's hope we turn up.
  18. Political comments on a football forum are very tiresome. Why not take it elsewhere and leave us to discuss football.
  19. If your summary is correct we need to know from the FSS Committee why this agreement was signed without the matter being referred to FSS members for discussion and a vote.
  20. I was more thinking of the initial lump of work in transferring the shares of say, 200 shareholders, to FSS and issuing new certificates for one share. Take your point though that in the longer term it wouldn’t be too much of an issue particularly as the Club have been moving towards issuing AGM papers etc electronically.
  21. Would the Club entertain that, hundreds of small shareholders with only 1 share? The administration of the share register would multiply tenfold.
  22. Thanks, I thought that might be the case but just wanted to confirm.
  23. If I transfer my small shareholding to FSS does that mean I lose the right to attend the Clubs AGM?
  24. To me it looks like the Club wanted the Panels up before the final home game (as it turned out) of the season, understandable in a way to please the sponsors. But to put up the panels knowing that they had yet to secure a sponsor for one of the players Is embarrassing. As someone mentioned would have been far better to leave it until the start of next season when all sponsors were in place and to announce the players with a bit of fanfare, a bare minimum would have been a bit of background to each player, their time at the club, their achievements etc.
