  1. Hard to not use the words "must win" when it comes to Annan games but it is what is... Feeling slightly confident about this as Hamilton have little to play for and Murphy has got the boys playing with determination and two up top. The forecast of 50 mph winds could turn this game into a lottery . What price a Greg Fleming hat trick from clearances!! Prediction. Annan 2 - Accies 1 Mon th Annan. Ca plane pour moi!
  2. Looking at this game with hope rather than expectation. Alloa always tough opponents especially when they need points for play off position. Crucial for Annan not to lose any ground to our fellow strugglers. Of the fixtures involving the rest of the not so fantastic four you have to think Kelty will pick up three points against Edinburgh City. Hoping Cove and Hamilton do the business today and use up all their goal rations for the next fortnight! Mon th Annan!
  3. The phrase a game of two half's was never so true. First half Annan played like Man City, second half more like Mansfield! Thought that when we went three up that game was over but boy that second half was torture and genuinely could see it ending all square. Credit to Greg Fleming for a wonder stop and Kelty fans must have come away gutted totally dominating after the break. Still can't believe Wullie Gibson didn't Bury that chance in the last minute after running the length of the pitch . Any way three points is three points and the other results yesterday couldn't have been predicted by many. Six games to go so plenty of twists and turns to come...
  4. Another in our run of must win games. With seven games to go still in with a real chance of catching any of the three teams above us, but a loss tomorrow would I think see Kelty safe. Been absolutely nothing between these teams so far this season so hopefully lady luck favours us for once. Will go for a nervy but deserved home win . 2- 1 . Mon th Annan! Ca plane pour moi!
  5. Calvin Harris, Private Frazer can you hear me ? Skyline Drifter your boys took a hell of a beating!! X
  6. Time to head out for some Vitamin T. To add to the crap view debate it looks like its going to piss down. There is a god!! May the least worst team win, as long as their wearing black and gold. Hoping that come 5pm you Dumfries boys are heading home with faces longer than the A75 and more concerns than Rishi Sunaks campaign manager. Enjoy!
  7. What sort of view are you wanting for £16 at a Scottish league one ground? Sydney opera House perhaps? The hanging gardens of Babylon. Herds of wildebeest swinging majestically...
  8. Hoping that Peter Murphy is in a positive mood and throws caution to the wind. If we don't beat Queens tomorrow we never will. Looking at league table a draw wouldn't really help us with eight games left after this. Wouldn't be surprised to see us lining up with this Fleming ( If fit) Galloway Douglas Muir McIntyre Gibson Lussaint Nugent Smith Goss Ndiweni Looking forward to watching the "crap" view of "clogging" Annan getting one over the so called big team. Mon th Annan!!
  9. Sorry Jan but as Shania Twain almost said, he don't impress me much! He certainly looks fast but no goals or impact up front meant he was simply a bench warmer. How's Tony Wallace doing at whatever your stadiums called this week? Now he could certainly have played L1 and was disappointed when he chose to move on. BTW, maybees see you guys in the playoffs??
  10. To add to this list... A decent cup run (The Scottish preferably) every couple of years. A reserve team playing on a regular basis A return to proper blank and gold striped shirts I also remember the former chairman being quoted in the local paper that they would like to have "adult entertainment " in the clubhouse...
  11. Narrow but deserved win for Annan yesterday. Tam Muir excellent display at centre half and Kai Nugent absolutely outstanding. Could make for a very interesting game up at Stirling on last day of league season... Enjoyed Wullie Gibson showing the Stirling fans sheltering from the rain what the score was. Good job he got the two fingers the right way!!
  12. A must win for Annan today to close the gap to four points. Lose today and might as well start preparing for the relegation play offs. Have to say that we are starting to look a more attacking side, maybees through necessity rather than choice. Fancy Geordie Mike to open his account the day and a home win Mon th Annan!!
  13. Are we going to get back to back wins for the first time this season? What formation will Peter Murphy surprise us with today... Full backs as centre forwards? Will Michael Ndiwene start? Mon the Annan!!
  14. Seeing on Carlisle site Max Kilsby recalled to them. Best of luck to Max who has been first choice LB for past season and a half. Can't see him breaking into Carlisle team just yet though
  15. Aye, @Brummo spot on about the weather. Sort of day that had polar bears looking for their overcoats and a great advert for summer fitba! Couldn't see too much cause of the fog that hungover Galabank until the last 10 minutes or so but FWIW these stuck out to me. Annan 1st goal. Appeared to hit Taam Muir on chest and then stabbed home? Montrose penalty - Sorry but never in a month of Sundays was this a pen. Defender clearly played ball .if only we had VAR at this level! Nugent goal. Excellent finish. This guy would be some player if he hadn't stopped growing aged 12 Mo 2nd. No idea. Just knew it was coming. Heater sending off- again no idea what happened. Maybe he had a few Bob on it? Gardyne sending off - thought he was hulk hogan with that challenge. Heard he received a further red in dressing room. Disappointed not get anything but that's the way this season is going
  16. Disappointed with this news. Has been one of our few stand out players this season. Not bothered about any perceived lack of tracking back as see him as a "final third" player myself. Only criticism I would levy at him is he sometimes attempts too many times to beat players. When you see him you'll know what I mean... PS any chance of us having Lewis Strapp back then??
  17. Seriously got the fear for this fixture with Annans injury woes continuing. Might rock up with my Winfields and find myself on the bench! Will pay cash at the gate be available for our travelling hordes from the Queen of the Border?
  18. Friggin in the rigging. B side of Something Else by Sex Pistols (Johnny Rotten less by this time)
  19. Just finished writing to Santa. Top of the list a home win and three points. Hoping to see the form book getting thrown out the window , or at least not conceding in the first 10 minutes. Not much news on the injury front coming out of Galabank so basically expect the first 11 players to turn up be the starting line up. For Falkirk fans who haven't been down here before don't expect the San siro! No cover if standing so hunt out your wetsuits and snorkels.. Mon the Annan!!
  20. Can't disagree with a word of this although possibly poorest performance I have seen by Annan this season. Wasn't helped by the abysmal refereeing and the standside lino. You can see the difference between league one and two teams in games like these. The size of our squad is worrying when you saw the bench today. A long ĥard winter lies ahead...
  21. Can we have a repeat of the 2019 score please? 6-1 with a hat trick from Tam Muir. Seems like a lifetime since we won a game but just doing enough to keep Queens in sight. Absolutely teeming it down just now so many of the less committed may choose to spend the afternoon in the club/Shed. Prediction ANNAN 2 (Smith & Goss) COVE 0 Mon th Annan! Ca plane pour moi!
  22. Can't see why...looks all white to me! On the positive side no dropped points and a week for the walking wounded to recover.
  23. Fingers are just about thawed out. Had forgotten how cold Tuesday nights can be at Galabank. Was very impressed with Hamilton first half. Cut down both flanks and feared a real doing. After the sending off, and I admit Wullie did seem to make the most of it, the game was all Annan. Just didn't give anything for Fulton to deal with though and can't believe Matty Douglas didn't score that header. Genuinely think Annan were worth a point though and games against Edinburgh and Queens will define our season.
  24. Gutted to have not held on for the win yesterday but in all fairness Kelty were worth at least a draw. Agree with previous two posters that Garritty was electric yesterday and tormented the Kelty defence all game long. Baffled to see him subbed and for me was only contender for man of the match. Yeah, corner count was embarrassing. Have noticed all season that Annan are packing the box when opposition get corner and leaving no one up front . End result has no out ball so we are relying on Fleming saving the day or ball going out of play. Frustrating!! Thought Reece Lyon showed respect by not celebrating his goal. He was class for us last year and would have him back in a shot.
  25. We go into this game desperately needing a win to avoid potentially going bottom. Would love to see a repeat of the boxing day scoreline from 2021. 5-1 in case it had slipped your mind. Stand out moment in that game was the bizarre sending off of Jordan Forster. Ref had blew for half time when the big fella started mouthing off to the home support after being accused of being follicly challenged. Oh how we laughed! Not expecting the same score and to be honest, would settle for a scrappy 1-0 in the 90 +10 minute! Mon the Annan! Ca plane pour moi!
