  1. We've created some decent chances today but crying out for 2 up front.
  2. Krasniqi looks decent though needs to give a game to actually prove that..
  3. Big day for Ruth tomorrow - I actually thought he did well first half v Dumbarton dealing with scraps but needs to impose himself more. Also heard the Keena to Raith rumour this morning from their side. Would make no sense unless we're bringing someone else in. His goal v Airdrie aside, I don't think Keena has played well and often looks disinterested so would be no great loss as long as he's replaced. Why Raith would want to sign a guy who can't get a game in league 1 is anyones guess though.
  4. Are we now suggesting we should ditch the passing game and resort back to hoofing it up the park? As good news re Morrison as could be expected I think. Hopefully December means the start of Dec and not by 31st.
  5. Telfer and Nesbitt need to play closer together - they're the 2 in the team who are closest to being on the same wavelength and able to exchange quick, intelligent passes. With Morrison out and only 1 up front (often outnumbered by the opposition) Nesbitt has nowhere to go when he gets towards the edge of the box. 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 whatever we change to it has to allow our most creative players to play off one another. Its not about extra bodies but about getting players who can make things happen into dangerous positions
  6. Then do something about it. Protest, campaign, start a movement, contact the new CEO, organise a mass walk out. I can assure you change isn't going to happen by tiring out your fingers typing the same thing over and over on here.
  7. Hopefully we will still win this league easily just as Partick did last year but its going to take some serious reaction from Sheerin. As for 91.. my point was that the knicker wetting on P&B would have been off the scale had it existed back then if we'd appointed a manager from Berwick and took 1 pt from the first 12. I'm not comparing our team now with 91 - that would be ridiculous. Up to this point I thought you probably knew that but now I'm having serious doubts tbh.
  8. Its fine to have different opinions but a lot of whats said isn't based in any reality which is why I take pot shots. BPM for example pretends to be an expert on all things while not actually bothering to watch us play most weeks. Up until the Alloa game we have been mostly playing well and creating plenty of chances. To deny that is just plain wrong We miss Morrison for sure who was most likely to score 15+ (he's on 5 already) but the reason we don't have goals elsewhere in the team is because we are playing 1 up front and we're hampering ourselves by playing 2 x holding midfielders in a league where that is not required (the frustrating thing being we failed the same way with McKinnon and M&M). This is opinion of course as is the point you're making that a change in tactics wouldn't do it. I'd at least like to see it tried. and Sheerin is the only one who can make that happen.
  9. If told to go and play then yes. Telfer, Dixon, Williamson, Krasniqi, Nesbitt, Morrison, Keena, Ruth, McCann, Lemon, McKay, Mutch, McDaid are all decent players at this level. If you think these guys shouldn't be beating Dumbarton or winning games in this league then you're a clown. McGuffie, Hall, Miller, Hetherington, Wilson, Sammy (despite being better yesterday), Weekes and C Williamson on the other hand are dross.
  10. A couple of other points: - Criticism of Ruth is way over the top, he looked decent yesterday esp in first half where I thought he got into decent position, showed good close control and did well with his header off the bar. Him and Keena as a front 2 would be where I'd go next week (dropping someone out of midfield and moving 4-4-2 - 'Staying away' is only prolonging the status quo. If enough folk genuinely want to force change it won't be done by hankering on a message board for a Q&A or moaning into an online echo chamber. At the Very Least email the board and post replies here and on other social media. Build a momentum and make voices heard. Attend the games and protest. These are the only ways to force change in this day and age. Even CC and ML didn't last long when the chants started. Personally I still believe we have the players to win this league fairly easily with the right formation and if are prepared to ditch the defensive nonsense and attack. We can't afford to keep fannying about like we did yesterday and v Alloa though. Sheerin needs to change things immediately.
  11. Well that was utter pish yesterday. I've been defending the team as I still think the criticism dished out on here after the QP game was unreasonable given performances up to that point but I've also always said my opinion on that might change if we don't bounce back quickly. I was even encouraged after the Alloa game that Sheerin seemed to be alert to the fact we were shit and I expected 4-5 changes yesterday. His interview after the game yesterday is very concerning. Talk of "trusting the system" etc. The "system" is exactly what needs ripped up. As with M&M, McKinnon and Hartley before, I got a very strong sense from Sheerin that he has complete blind spots round things like his formation and certain individuals (e.g Hetherington, McGuffie, McCann, Miller). Yesterday and his interview afterwards 100% confirmed that. He's going to stick with 2 holding midfielders isn't he?
  12. Really need to get Telfer pushed up to play closer to Nesbitt. Ruth far better today though, looks lively
  13. Shame for Sammy today, he's been far more effective than McGuffie
  14. Sounds like Williamson might be ready to start s i'd go with.. Mutch Williamson McKay Dixon McCann Krasniqi McDaid Telfer McGuffie Nesbitt Keena
  15. Let's be honest though, if Wilson is ever going to score, its going to be against Dumbarton
  16. Have they confirmed whether this is a Holt or Sheerin signing so we know who to abuse at 4.45pm?
  17. There's potential there but Keena has been a bit of a letdown so far. Great goal at Airdrie but not getting into nearly enough goalscoring situations.
  18. No. The fans aren't 'the problem' and there are no such things as 'happy clappers' and 'critical supporters' just a whole load of Falkirk fans with different opinions who want the best for the club. The problem has been years of terrible decision making from the end of Yogis time onwards. Some of these decisions have been reactionary off the back of fan criticism/lobbying some have tried to curry favour and others have been plain mind boggling. Fans get it wrong all the time. I can't be bothered to look back but I'm certain there were plenty on here keen on Peter Grant and Stuart Taylor as our new manager. There were definitely plenty happy with the Hartley appointment as another example. Discussing all things Falkirk is interesting but its extremely easy to sit back and criticise. For me that time may well come but its far far too early under Sheerin to be there yet.
  19. 100% this. Some of the comments on here post Saturday have been ridiculous. We lost a game. Did we think we weren't going to lose any games or play poorly at all this season? Would expect these reactions if we're still behind after 9/18 games not 6 when we've barely been able to field a settled XI but still looked capable in all games bar one. Folk more or less writing off Ruth after Saturday too is equally crazy. Give the guy a chance FFS.
  20. David Holmes stayed 1 year & gave us George Deans... how did that work out? The point I'm making is that its far too soon to be drawing conclusions on Sheerin and how this season will go. Next few games are crucial.
  21. At the risk of getting a torrent for suggesting we shouldn't panic yet, can you imagine what reaction would have been like on here if a manager plucked from Berwick took 1 pt from 12 as happened at the start of the 1990/91 season? Now clearly we're a league below where we were then but we shouldn't need a Stainrod to start picking up results in League 1. Sheerin may work out, he may not but its far too early to be chucking in the towel. We were poor on Saturday which hasn't been the case in most of our other games. Sheerin also seems to know it (much more than M&M or McKinnon ever admitted) so let's see whether we get a reaction on Saturday. At the very least the team looks like it has a plan this year. I do agree a lot of weight now on Ruth & Keena to perform after the Wilson debacle and for guys like Williamson and Morrison to be back soon. He also needs to realise that tactical changes are needed to bring Krasniqi in, push Telfer on, Nesbitt in the centre etc. Start picking up wins and confidence should come back quickly. If we get into October and it becomes clear Saturday wasn't a blip then some of the panic will be justified.
  22. I've been supportive so far due to the fact we've been playing well (against QP we were very unlucky) but have to admit we were worryingly poor yesterday. A lot depends on how Sheerin reacts nest week. Against QP he got his tactics wrong playing Nesbitt out wide and yesterday he doubled down with a few bizarre choices. Injuries are hampering up but no excuse for not being up for the battle. Starting the season we looked strongest down the right and are now missing both Williamson & Morrison which is crippling us and until they're back we need to find a way to cope. Next week Nesbitt has to be moved centrally and Telfer pushed up to be more of a goal threat even if it means pushing him wider than would like. If he's available Krasniqi needs to come in for Hetherington and McKay for Hall. Would also start both Keena & Ruth and drop McGuffie. Mutch Miller McKay Dixon McCann Krasniqi Ross Telfer Ruth Nesbitt Keena On a positive note Sheerin in his interview seems angrier than M&M or McKinnon ever did - time will tell how quickly he learns.
  23. Its a bold argument to make at the start of September that none of our strikers will hit 15 goals so we should be panic signing the likes of Greig Spence. Especially when one of our strikers hasn't played a single game yet and we've only gone 1 game without scoring at least once. How many goals had Lyle Taylor or Rory Loy scored when they signed? Its still very possible 2 from Keena, Ruth and Morrison will score 15+ this season.
