  1. For me the biggest opportunity at the Alloa game is FSS sign ups. All money coming into the club is good but would also prefer an FSS sign up option rather than a 'pay more' option with season ticket renewal. Pay more is welcome but one off - FSS membership would continue to give. We need to ride the wave of good feeling around atm and boost numbers wherever we can! Wonder if we could even have someone at events like the Falkirk Daft BTW thing at a wee stall able to sign people up. A bit of booze, good feeling and peer pressure could get a few more in the door at those type of events.
  2. Could maybe use McGinn at centre half if needed. Not ideal but would prefer to Bisland if needs must over the last 2 games.
  3. Just watched back and must have missed it first time round. What a stop!
  4. Highlights missing bit chunks of the game? Was hoping to see Taits goal line clearance again and they hit the bar once or twice too which seem to be missing, not to mention our first goal! Couldn't really see the Tait clearance well from where I'm sitting but it looked miraculous it stayed out at the time.
  5. Thought Hogarth was outstanding today, he's got the potential to be a top class keeper for us. The OG was a freak moment but it did seem a bit cocky trying to play so tightly out of our own box. Alfie has looked great when coming on recently too, a real threat. Glad he's here next year he can be a real handful and a great option to have. Nesbitt was deservedly MOM. I think anyone claiming to have been a constant believer in his ability over the last few years have a very short memory. He looked great when he first came in under Sheerin then form fell away as the team hit the skids. He's been inconsistent since then up until the start of this season when he's been superb most weeks. What a difference team spirit and being surrounded by others on the same wavelength can do for a player. Him and Miller go way back which is probably helping them both too. Great to see.
  6. QP look done after their sporting director, manager and Dempsey all quit. The 'project' is falling to bits. Looking at their team it's pretty sh*t too. Can't see them finishing above ICT or surviving the play offs.
  7. Given the first hand experience we've had over the last few years I don't think any Falkirk fan should be telling Hamilton fans Rankin shouldn't be sacked unless they're on the wind up (which I appreciate some are). They watch their team every week, they know the ins and outs and there are red flags all over the shop. Being unable to handle Dylan Tait being a prime example along with the tales of horrendous substitutions and poor football. We've seen it up close with a few recent managers and doubt we'd have been up for sticking with M&M or McKinnon longer (for example) so they could have an opportunity to learn! Not all replacement managers are as shit as the one's we got either. Doesn't always mean the club turns to mush. McCall would have them promoted in no time.
  8. I agree, the push for Mackie is rose tinted based on games where he's come in and done well but I'm not convinced he's upper championship quality. For the championship I'd like to have seen us try to improve on Oliver and I think the same about Mackie. Having said that, we do need some players who are happy to be 2nd choice.
  9. Someone mentioned before that Ross was one of Raiths highest earners so it might be a hefty wage for someone who won't start as 1st choice. I'd like to keep him though if a deal can be done. Tait will be more difficult to get over the line as he's still with Hibs though not many better loan options for him (or Hibs) than us.
  10. If we can't add 2-300 onto the FSS numbers over the next month or so we never will. Really hope there's an option alongside ST renewal but would have sign up forms on seats and John McGlynn on the pitch with the mic on 4th for a rallying call! Let's get as much £££ as we can from the big crowd and feel good factor.
  11. There'll no doubt be a Hamilton defender in there, they've only conceded 3 more than us.
  12. Would love to keep Tait, Ross and Yeats - those 3 would be my priority. Tait would depend on Hibs agreeing to either let him go for free or be loaned out again for the season covering some wages. Montgomery looks on a shoogly peg there so would be good to get that deal done before anyone new comes in and decides they like him. I get why people are calling for Mackie but not (yet) for me. He's done well last 2 games but they've been games where we've had a huge % of possession, won't be the case next year and while he's an option I'd like to see what others we have come the summer before committing the budget. He deserves to start the last few games and how he does next week when I expect we'll be under a bit more pressure will be interesting. Shanley in the same position for me. Wouldn't be committing money his way just yet.
  13. Forecast is terrible. 40-50mph winds could cause problems.
  14. I looked at it from the point of view of who would I least like to lose to long term injury/another team. Based on this seasons performances and influence on so many games, that's Morrison.
  15. Agree. Can't recall anyone suggesting Airdrie would go down. McCabe has no chance of winning MOTY unless they go up via play offs. I can't see McGlynn getting it either, purely for our achievements being in league 1. If we'd had last seasons cup run this year it might have been different. If Hearts can win the cup or reach the final then I expect Naismith will get it. the media would love to give it to Derek McInnes too. Another contender would be Ian Murray if Raith can pip Utd
  16. You're not the only offender but he's been here almost 3 years now. It's Nesbitt folks, not Nisbett.
  17. Re keepers, happy with Hogarth signing too, think he's shown enough to suggest he can improve. Not buying that McGovern is done, was good enough to win a contract at Hearts just last summer and was Livvy's MOM at Parkhead only a few weeks ago. If we could convince him to come and work with Hogarth it'd be a great signing.
  18. I'm probably missing some obvious one but from the top of my head I'd have: Legends: Crunchie Stainrod Latapy Yogi Vaulks Cult heroes: Moutinho Houston Baptie Farid Mallo Parks Burgess Local Heroes: Arfield Sibbald Honerable mentions: McGovern, Riera, Taylor, Morrison, Cadette, Samuel, Gow, Stokes, James, Gray, Fulton, Weir, Keith, Marshall, McLaughlin, McQueen, McKenzie
  19. Of the more recent lot, Vaulks I think can reasonably be considered legendary too for his impact, personality and some magic moments in a great spell
  20. Its not like for like though. The players we've re-signed will mostly be on more money than they were on this year. Morrison especially will be a very high earner now. That'll eat up a % of the money saved by freeing 4-5 others. I personally think we need to be ruthless with those who haven't made much impact and seek out better. McGlynn will see Nesbitt as his first choice in the 10 role and I'd have liked a stronger challenger than oliver based on what we've seen of him (which is a lot over the last 2 years). Likewise, I'm hoping McIvors back up will be stronger than Shanley. I'm confident McGlynn will have some very good targets in mind but think we'll see 3-4 coming in with maybe 2 more extensions still to be announced. I do worry some of out first choicers won't be as effective in the championship but can't argue they haven't earned their right to be there.
  21. Waste of a wage in my view - would much rather lose Oliver and keep Ethan Ross. Oliver will offer absolutely nothing in the Championship.
  22. The retro kit offering ANOTHER reminder why red shoulders = classic team/season Going to be absolutely gutted if the 24/25 strip reverts away from them again.
  23. We'll be fine next year as long as we leave enough room in the budget for 4-5 decent summer signings. The core is there but we'll need to replace the squad players with better quality. Do that and we should be play off challengers at least. Dunfermline have been honking this year. We finished 7pts clear of Airdrie over 36 games last year and they're in with a shout of play offs with Todorov up front. ICT are terrible and only likely to get worse etc. As are Ayr. Not seeing much to be frightened of to be honest.
