  1. I think that was a poor choice of words from that poster but labelling someone a rapist on a basis of likely rather than proven doesn’t sit right with me.

An earlier poster asked what Clyde fans felt about the situation but there’s no point in discussing it further as it’s all been covered before and it’s impossible to say anything other than he’s a rapist without being shouted down as some kind of rape apologist by mouthpieces on here.

As for the repeated what if it was your daughter/sister comments, maybe consider what if that was your brother/son/friend being accused. Would you not want more scrutiny than ‘aye they probably did it.’

The 3 main questions for me are:
1- is it appropriate to judge a crime of the severity of rape in a civil court with no burden of proof?

2- why was this particular case pursued in this manner?

3- why have many more cases not been pursued in this manner?

On a larger scale, Weinstein has paid 25M to victims in a civil suit. This option is the only option to women in cases where the defendant is a high profile individual with power/status/influence etc.
  2. Should the SFA look to introduce a system whereby they can refuse to accept a players registration? Eg
    Drink driving - 1 year
    Assault - 1 year
    Drug possession- 1 year
Drink driving that leads to injury or fatality, serious assault, drug dealing, sex offences - permanent

Then we’d have no SFA [emoji23]
  3. I really dont understand the Clyde fans enthusiasm for Goodwillie. If we signed him, he stayed for years and come 2025 I was getting the itch to go back, and folded, I would sit in the stands sheepishly, feeling pretty ashamed and offer that man no enouragement whatsoever.
What is it about football that makes you actively talk up someone who, in terms of normal society deserves to be treated like..... well a sex offender.
Do decent, normal Clyde fans act like this too? There are a couple I can think of but I won't tag them in here as its an unsavoury debate. If they read it they can chime in.

    Get Goodwillie tae f**k.

There’s a sociological theory about football that I’ve got in my dissertation that for most football becomes a “moral holiday” be that the abuse the shout at players, officials, etc or the past actions of a player.
  4. Having taken every opportunity to attack livi as a club with no morals im afraid i would find it impossible to continue following a team as long as this scumbag represented us.  If he signs i wont be back till hes away.

As someone who spent a years working with sex offenders, as the father to a daughter, I feel I second your sentiment. How could I in good conscious say I’d fight tooth and nail to protect my daughter then give money to an institution that hires a rapist...
  5. Posted but it wasn’t working,

Some good songs there, and good that you’ve found some that reflect you and your life.

    Mines would be;

    The rapheals-learning to row

    Runrig-the story

    The washboard union-feel like that

All have different meaning to me. But all very personal.

P.S should get hearthammer by Runrig as a wee warm up song.

  6. Shower. Needs to be hot, preferably to the point of it nearly scalding me. Gym showers are really crap for this always feel like warm. I never feel like a get a proper wash in them.

I use a bar of soap and exfoliating sponge first, then use a shower gel (mint tea tree shower gel on the bellend to wake me up) Then the usual shampoo, condition and wash the beard if I have growth.

I’ve found the pleasures of the loofah for a deeper clean with the soap.
  7. I have no idea... and it's relevance to her being a mentalist if she was is?

Probably would be a link, domestic abuse can have a serve psychological effect. I know it’s an extreme away, but individuals who were sexually abused as children tend to go on to do the same when they are adults. Similar effect, there can be a causal link between someone who has been domestically abused to someone who then goes onto to carry out similar actions themselves.
  8. 2 people at our table last night were drinking pints of irn bru mixed with fresh orange as they claim its a good hangover prevention. Anyone ever tried this??
