Well done to the players especially the young ones who have had to step up delighted for them as they’ve suffered the most being thrust into a situation due to lack of squad depth Special mention for the younger coaches also who have been moved up in the interim tam oware from YQP and Charley king from academy who’s been at the club for years, seem to be getting very good effort and heard good things that the squad are big fans of them both

Took a wonder down to lochinch yesterday to take in the 18s game vs Kilmarnock. Really impressed with the young team who looked miles ahead of there opponents throughout the game

Visiting family in Dundee this weekend and out a walk managed to stumble across a young QP team playing against Dundee this evening . Unsure of the age group but was very impressed with the football from QP who looked to play good football compared to a Dundee team who were much bigger physically and just lumped it from what I seen. Hopefully bodes well for the future!

Heard the 18s won 2-1 at Murray park tonight

All teams within the academy Scotland elite or performance tier pay there pro youth coaches from under 11s upwards to under 18s pretty sure it was part of project brave. There’s numerous jobs online just now for Dundee Utd and st mirren at the moment of various age group positions all paid roles according to the advert?

All academy coaches from under 11s through to under 18s are still all voluntary also from what I understand

What evidence is there that the club is going big on the academy? If anything the academy has been totally neglected since the new regime took over two

Well said I agree with a lot of this. Every statement that seems to come from L Dempster now says we have a history of having a strong youth set up well before anyone in the new regime arrived. So surely what we have been doing is working up to now and the whole fact we can now keep our best young players, why not give the staff, coaches, volunteers who ever they are the chance to develop these youngsters for our own club instead of ours like the past. I get the new guy from AZ is an exciting prospect but people shouldn’t be quick to forget that he’s coming into a successful academy with a lot of good staff by the looks of things! also good to see 18s match reports altho a bit of notice before games of when they are happening would also be good for fans wanting to see them for themselves

Surely time to give some of the 18s team who seem to be winning most weeks a chance, even off the bench? Add in the coaches too! today was awful. Desperately needing a striker and some creativity

Heard the 18s are playing fife on Friday night 6pm ko at toryglen for a change so would imagine anyone wanting to pop down should be able to see them then

Michael Ruth I’m sure was also in a Scotland squad. Also seen recent lists which had a under 17 Cameron Bruce and under 16 Lennon connelly in Scotland squads in the past months. I think recent posts online suggest the youth is still strong now question just is if they will still get a chance with the first team doing so well

Managed to get down to see the 18s game today and the young boys were excellent was qp 3-0 killie when I left, we were well on top
