  1. Correct. No danger he is catching up with Hallberg before he has a shooting opportunity. Still surprised the ref produced the red due to it being a bit wide though. Not that it really helped us any. We went into our shell after the red card. Thought we were far better 11 v 11.
  2. I really enjoyed yesterday. Maybe that shows how bad things have been for the last year or two! I think we look like we’re continuing to improve particularly going forward.
  3. Wow, ok… If the refs involved used it the way it’s meant to be used and it resulted in wrong decisions being corrected appropriately then it would be a good idea. However, these fukwits can’t seem to get much right at all so it’s turning the game into a shitshow. Hope this clears things up.
  4. Yeah we’re basically making the same point. It’s these same numpties so it’s never going to be any good, is it? VAR is a thing in that it’s meant to be an extra option to use to ensure decisions are right but it’s just not working. Certainly not worth the money spent on it anyway. Might as well go back to the refs getting things wrong without the added frustration of them all getting it wrong, twice, and wasting time during games in the process.
  5. Not sure when they started sending folk off for winning the ball then colliding, accidentally or otherwise with the opposing player afterwards but it’s getting a bit daft now. I think every team has probably suffered it this season. We’ve had it with Mitchell away to St Mirren, Phillips at home to St Mirren and Clark away to Rangers. There are probably others. None of these would have been red cards before and I think I’m right in saying none were shown red cards until after checking the freeze-frame VAR replay. Absolute shite. It must put players off making tackles which I think is what Lee Johnson is getting at when he says it affects how he would coach his players to play. This surely can’t be good for the game.
  6. ^ this I don’t understand or like the regular comment that VAR is rubbish. VAR isn’t a bad idea. The people who control it and make the decisions are the same referees and other less experienced referees and they’re nearly all useless! There is no hope of improvement while we have such bad referees on the pitch and in the VAR room.
  7. Agree with all of this. Strange thing is they’re still getting a decent turnout and backing from us fans at games. I said to my daughter on the way to Tynecastle that I’m looking forward to getting lunch before the game and the atmosphere there always is amongst us at Tynie but hadn’t really thought about the actual game. I think that says a lot about the way I’m feeling about it at the moment.
  8. Was going to ask this. What’s the ticket exchange? The announcer mentioned something about ticket exchange when he announced the attendance…
  9. Good to see plenty of people agreeing with my opinion that if it’s obviously accidental then it shouldn’t be a red. Absolutely it could have been a leg breaker but still a purely accidental collision. And of course I understand wishing the player Flynn well, but I’m sure he’s fine since he played on until the 80th minute!
  10. Which part do you think is a wind up? My opinion or big Stevie T’s?
  11. He got the ball and it was an unfortunate landing but no chance it’s a red card for me. Yes it might be a sore one for the player but doesn’t automatically make it a red card. I think the officials are far too quick to make these decisions and VAR hasn’t helped that with freeze frame decisions. Even your very own former player and St Mirren man Stephen Thompson said on the radio that he couldn’t see how it was a red card in any way.
  12. I’m serious. Watch the highlights without your black and white tinted glasses on. Seriously. Should not have stood.
  13. No it’s not. It’s not something I’d normally claim and I know it sounds like sour grapes but it was so blatantly obvious. I was actually convinced the goal would be chalked off so wasn’t worried when the ball went in the net. But how wrong I was!
  14. So nobody noticed that the St Mirren goal should’ve been chalked off? The start of the attacking phase of play or whatever they call it was a throw in taken in the completely wrong place (ok that happens all the time) and the guy who took it is walking along while throwing the ball. It’s a foul throw all day long. Now I know a lot of the time they’re not pulled up for these things but it leads to the goal so they must be checking that on VAR and disallowing it. Even without VAR the ref and lineman should be seeing that. Very much robbed of the points today with that and the sending off which shouldn’t have been either as we already know.
  15. He does know how to kill the enthusiasm doesn’t he? I’m just trying to ignore him as much as possible because the players don’t deserve the negative vibes off the back of a hard-fought win.
  16. This photo sums up Dundee Utd and their mentality. They think they’re braw, but they’re naw.
  17. I think you’re on the right track. Definitely too late for the ‘big’ celebration that should’ve happened two years ago. But definitely not too late to continually shout it from the rooftops that we are double cup winners! A bit like the name of this thread, we should be referring to ourselves as ‘double cup winners St Johnstone FC’ and celebrating the fact as much as possible from now into eternity. It’ll probably never happen again for any club outwith the old firm FFS! The place should be plastered with stuff about it. So disappointed that they’ve barely recognised their own achievement. It’s quite saddening to me actually.
  18. I get what you’re saying but it’s still a lot of money to most eh? Sad times.
  19. That’s hellish! They should pay you to sit in that main stand, especially if you’re above average height!
  20. £25 a ticket is not affordable for most folk and would stop many going to as many games as I think we’re already starting to see this season with lower away crowds. Had to laugh at Hibs’ Christmas ticket so called package deal of £44 for two matches. What in the blue hell do they normally charge for a ticket if that’s meant to be a good deal?
  21. No idea what the plan is but this is just so bad from us. Bair in the team is like being a man down.
  22. I understand why you would think that, however times have changed. You will see on Saturday. Home win.
  23. Any chance of a quick summary of his latest nonsense for us poor non-subscribers?
