What a strange move. We are woefully short of midfield options and can’t imagine what Dunfermline see in him. Hopefully there is a bigger picture here for us with more signings to come.

Bit shit for anyone who has bought a ticket but can’t make the Saturday. Not to mention the people who bought a ticket for the original game only for it to be moved to suit Kilmarnock. Moving it for a 3rd time after tickets have been sold seems like taking the piss to me.

Reading will almost certainly leave in the Summer. As a player we can develop and potentially sell on for a fee, Maxwell is exactly the market we should be looking at. I haven’t actually seen much to make me think that he is a left back - he’s not particularly strong in the tackle or good in the air. Think he played more as a wing back for Queens, but might be wrong. I think he could well develop into a strong running midfielder. He managed to win man of the match against Accies despite playing as a right midfielder which says a lot. He might be a bit raw at times, but he’s been one of the few bright spots in this grim season.

Maxwell is a player with bags of potential. Fast, mobile and good on the ball. Not surprised that McCall is looking at him. He showed time and again at Ayr that he has an eye for a young player - you might think that would give folk on here pause for thought when dismissing Maxwell as no great loss. I’ve honestly lost count of the players who've left Ayr recently that folk viewed the same way. What market do Ayr fans think we’re shopping in? If there is an opportunity to sign him permanently, we should be looking at it, though I presume we’d be priced out the market by Partick.
