  1. One aspect where I do think the club and Raith TV have to take a bit of stick for is how little we must be generating from sponsorship/advertising on the streams. With up to 10,000 people potentially watching this game you’d think a local company or two might be more than keen to have their logo plastered above the score board as, for example, Dundee United do or pay for an advertisement to be displayed during the dead air time before the live broadcast starts or at half time. It’s free money for us. It wouldn’t cost us anything for doing it. I don’t know if there’s a reluctance there from the Raith TV guys being volunteers or whatever but you can’t help feel we should be doing more, probably a better strategy for generating revenue than charging an extra couple of quid for the Pars game.

A logo above the scoreboard wouldn’t work. The camera is beside the scoreboard, folk wouldn’t see it....
  2. Speaking to my da about what he wanted for Christmas and asked him if he wanted the Val McDermid book, he said, if shes the rovers woman, then of course not.
It's the level of pettiness I live for any Raith fans unable to get SRJ windows, a steak bridie or a Carron bathroom due to their association with Dunfermline?

Love this. I actually do feel a bit guilty going into Stephens. More so now that they are opening up in Kirkcaldy! Must have been what it was like for Wallace and Bruce back in the day when the English were taking Scottish towns!
  3. That was some night. Rougier’s equaliser was magnificent. The incident you mentioned still irritates although to be fair they did actually give us back possession. They just gave us it back down in our corner and pressed us immediately so we lost the ball, from which they scored. Still convinced if we’d got them to penalties they would have choked.

I thought they kicked it out for a throw in, down in our corner flag. I’ve always hated the ‘kicking it out for an opposition player to receive treatment’. Let the referee stop the game!
  4. Why are you interacting with someone on a forum full of strangers with DM facilities?
Raith Rovers is a community club, the players are more familiar with supporters than you would know.
There is a culture of contact between the supporters, management, players and staff at the club, and at no time have I seen evidence of this being creepy.
If either party decides to join a forum where exchanges of messages are a part of this, they are free to do so and enter into discourse as they feel comfortable in doing.
Please take your 'Shock Jock' attitude away from here.

I’m with the townie on this. An adult DM’ing footballers is weird!
  5. Anyone who watched Vaughan’s late cameo against Falkirk and his game and goal against Peterhead (aye, I know but still) last season can see what a great wee player Vaughan is on his day. Then there’s the famous hat-trick. Then there’s that half season where he couldn’t stop scoring before master tactician Barry Smith decided he was a better holding midfielder. Those moments show what he’s capable of. It’s just that injuries have had such a huge impact on his career.

I’d forgotten we had been playing him in the holding role... Jesus [emoji85]
  6. If you want to talk dreaming for Hendry, he would fit very nicely into a certain scheme south of the border. It may sound crazy, but English Premiership and Championship teams have plenty of resources to take a talented youngster and develop them into their system, and the current Leeds United system depends on high motor, skilled and visionary players (much like MC as well). We could certainly hope someone in that program, or more likely a program looking to emulate their success, is looking around for the next young talent.

Hendry, classy as he is, lacks the pace to play at the highest level. He would fit in fine in a Scottish Premiership team, outwith the big guns but I think England’s top two leagues would be unrealistic for him.
  7. What the hell happened with Tommy McLean back in the 90s? Popped into my head the other day that I remember in the papers at the time he was there for less than a week before going to Dundee United?

Yeah pretty much! Took the job with us, was here for one game (a heavy loss at home to Aberdeen). Dundee United then sacked their manager and Wee Jim came in for him. His first game for United was back at starks park and we won with a last minute goal!
