  1. If that’s in reference to the Liam Dick comment I made, it was very much tongue in cheek from me. I know it came from Mr Meldrum, the chairman of the LD Supporters Club. I was having a sly dig at him rather than a genuine moan.
  2. I’ll raise you the ‘can we have a Liam Dick poster please’ question.
  3. It’s a bit much to put his stats as Airdrie manager against us into the mix surely? Even for Ro Sham Bo
  4. Im sure it was during Barry Smith’s first season. He played there and scored in a ridiculous amount of consecutive games before being injured.
  5. I don’t think Brown is anything to do with Connolly playing badly. He wasn’t very effective when Millen was in the side too. The one that’s interesting just now is Vaughan. We look a lot better with the 4231 and that leaves him out of the side. He’s been pretty ineffective for a while too which I never thought I’d hear myself say!
  6. Airdrie certainly won’t be easy. I hope he plays the same formation as he did today with three in the middle. The wind stopped us seeing that work as well as it could but it’ll stop Airdrie passing through the middle of us.
  7. I think he’s poor. I wasn’t a big fan of Millen but he’s a downgrade on him too. He is however all we have so we just need to get on with it.
  8. I don’t think many fans would disagree with that, or at least a variation of more teams in fewer leagues.
  9. Back in the 90’s when we were in the Premier League, the powers that be wanted league reconstruction which reduced the number of teams in the top flight meaning an extra team got relegated… guess who that team turned out to be? Also, even more strangely, it was us that had the casting vote which ultimately relegated us. Our chairman at the time believed it was for the greater good of Scottish football to vote for it!
  10. Well we got relegated from the premier league due to a vote and then promoted to the championship on a vote so I guess that evens it out doesn’t it?
  11. I put his post match comments down to him being annoyed and disappointed at the result. I’d like to think once he went home and watched the game back, he’d realise we were miles off it. Even the penalty that was given, although it wasn’t exactly a stonewaller, his reaction was a bit over the top.
  12. Do people actually think players not having a pre season these days makes any difference? It’s not like the olden days where they would come back having put a stone of weight on. Most players at our level will be in shape all year round.
  13. Not playing a proper defensive midfielder definitely hindered us but it was our inability to cope with high balls into the box that cost us the game today, not the CM situation.
  14. That was against St Johnstone, midweek during the season as well wasn’t it? I’m sure Colin Harris was a guest player that night and scored in a 1-0 win?
  15. More than Colin Cameron, Gordon Dalziel and other members of the Coca Cola Cup and European sides? Steady on a bit.
  16. I’m going to play devils advocate here and say that there’s not been enough done by our social media team to get anyone excited for this. Who’s playing? Have we got any ‘legends’ coming back to play? The timing is also silly. Should have been in pre season rather than during the run in. £15 is also over priced for seeing our fringe players play a non contact, walking football style for fear of injury against a Hibs youth team. Lewis deserves better from the club on this one.
  17. Will be really weird seeing a potential centre back pairing of Ian Murray and Dylan Corr this week. I can actually see Murray and Potter getting more game time than Corr.
  18. You say ‘you’ll never have a better chance’… Dundee won the league last year with 63pts and Killie the season before with 68. I’d say those seasons were a better chance?
  19. I think we will get to the playoff final and in the second leg Ashcroft will be on the bench, having not been completely forgotten about. He will come on for Watson with ten to go and head in the winner.
  20. I don’t disagree with any of the points you made, I just think don’t think we gain anything from it, other than an expensive jolly for the club. It’ll almost certainly be at the expense of a better crowd/game for a club legend that’s all.
  21. We should have played this game in pre season to honour a player of his quality rather than keeping dates aside for a potentially pointless trip to Las Palmas. What exactly will the club gain from it? A few shirt sales? It’ll cost us thousands!
  22. I feel a bit sorry for Vaughan and the timing of his testimonial. Assuming it’s the current team that are going to be playing and not a mix of former team mates, I’d imagine it’ll end up like a walking football match as no one will want hurt ahead of the Dundee Utd match. This should really have been pencilled in as one of the pre season matches where it could at least have been competitive.
  23. Well he must not be posting on this thread then… unless he’s from Texas that is? What was the story with Stark’s Bark, did they not get the bullet for writing something similar or am I getting my wires crossed with the above?
  24. Just watched the highlights back. Didn’t realise at the time how much of an impact Hamilton made when he came on. Won so many flick ons, including one leading up to the second goal. Hopefully he’s done enough to earn a start on Tuesday
  25. The only embarrassed one is your English teacher cheif.
