  1. Sure, I'm not disputing that. But the person who said "slashing budgets is a false economy" is every bit as culpable as her. He set that ball rolling. Back to your first point, I'm intrigued why you'd be willing to take that step into the dark without seeing the detail. I assume I know as much as you about the proposed manner in which the club will be run - very little - so I remain sceptical. A position I'd have expected you to adopt on past form.
  2. Yet Jim, who's all too aware of the restrictions imposed by confidentiality agreements, called on the previous board to issue a statement following a Daily Mail article containing no sources or direct quotes. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, Dave. I can't understand why you and others - guys I'd expect to ask the hard questions - are hitching your wagons to a vindictive hypocrite and a guy who's about to ask us to take another leap of faith, with the only certainty being financial gain for himself and a few others. A guy who failed to make some tough decisions when they were required, set the budget for last year and then seemingly disappeared into the sunset.
  3. I'm not casting aspersions = I'm casting aspersions I don't care = I care enough to question why no one's questioning their charitable endeavours
  4. Could Thistle Weir be rebranded 'Weir Football Academy' with the pathway to Partick Thistle removed, but the door remaining open to kids who want to play football?
  5. One of the claims made in the Herald piece has been refuted, but two have been proven to be true, right? And people have been claiming that the training ground's been a dead duck for moons, but your man Beattie told the Jags Trust that it was a still a "work in progress"?
  6. Whoa, quite the 180 here. Colin Weir is now "pathetic" and lacking in class? It's being repeatedly drummed into folk that it's perfectly reasonable for the old/new board to sell up and f*ck off, yet potshots are now being taken at the guy who's made probably the most significant financial contribution to Partick Thistle in the past 15-20 years?
  7. It's two factions slinging mud at each other through anonymous sources and proxies. The truth, as ever, will lie somewhere in the middle.
  8. What do you call the rumours spread by the likes of Jim Alexander? Are we to accept their accusations as gospel?
  9. Jamie Sneddon. The save at Palmerston that prevented QotS from pegging us back was genuinely one of the best I've ever seen.
  10. Get that link in the f*cking bin. Pictures of him being stretchered out - ghouls.
  11. You appear to be the only person in the stadium, other than the completely inept ref, who thinks that challenging for a header is worthy of a card. The only player who was "extremely fortunate to stay on the pitch" was the lad who poleaxed Alex Jones. And I assume the guy who pulled Mansell back in the last five minutes was on a yellow and the ref sh*t out of sending him off - that's the only plausible explanation for failing to book him.
  12. Queen's Park are a f*cking gang.
  13. Have Erskine's stellar performances for Livi resulted in similar cyber faps? Oh...
  14. Appointed by David Beattie after a "rigorous" recruitment process.
  15. But it might not match their valuation of the player, so why would they say that? That appears to be the case hence the carefully worded statement that's been issued.
  16. I think it's pretty obvious from the statement that we were forced to accept the bid due to player/agent power and the fact that no other club had approached us, ergo no 'bidding war'.
  17. Those criticising the statement would have preferred a huffy teenager on the books, aye? The moaners are probably the same people saying the board shouldn't stand in the way of the rumoured takeover. It's fine to stand aside for them if it's for the 'benefit' of the club, but the same principles shouldn't be applied in this situation? Our fans are f*cking arseh*les.
  18. He's a full-time employee whose remit covers a bit more than posting the odd Twitter update.
