  1. Only positive was McGinn. Best player on the pitch and we looked slightly better going forward when he was on the left. Surprised it only took McPake 5 minutes into the second half to make a change, and equally surprised it wasn't his usual Jakubiak on 70 minutes sub he normally opts for.
  2. My sentiments exactly. None of our strikers are at a good standard.
  3. That's it, just because Legzdins has been better than Hamilton doesn't mean he's the best we've had in ages. Takes an eternity to do anything, and he should've prevented quite a few shots we've faced from becoming goals this season.
  4. Hope chapman has pace. I get what people were saying about the midfield not needing work but there's a serious lack of pace in there as it is. Byrne, Robertson, Adam, (even Anderson too) aren't the quickest when we're trying to get up the pitch. It's as if when McMullan isn't on it then we don't have another plan B.
  5. Where have all the Scott Allan rumours resurfaced from all of a sudden?
  6. Today was poor by all accounts and it changes nothing. Anything other than a win on Wednesday is unacceptable. Surely he'll be out the door if it's another defeat? Surely?
  7. Decent draw. Would rather have a home tie but not complaining with that
  8. Unemployed manager at the hearts game now on the BBC. Get him in the away dugout at Dumbarton asap
  9. Can't say I saw that. McPake only has himself to blame, blind loyalty has summed up why we are where we are and his inactivity in this window so far for this season will cost us.
  10. Any details on position/possible names? And would love it to be Ross as manager but can't see it either
  11. Since the owners arrived 9 years ago we've had two fan days. We should be having more of them each season to entice new supporters in (even if the football on show will drive them away ), and give free tickets out to schools. Look at how well run Motherwell is, and the fan engagement they have. You get the feeling they care about the community and vice versa. Now the community trust has been a big positive, but we can always do more to get more fans in. Just a non football observation
  12. Nail on the head. I'm not financial expert but what are the Americans getting for their investment? One relegation, one top six and two promotions in 9 years this coming August. When we got top six we were told that was the end goal of their 5 year plan after securing promotion, and that we were 4 years ahead of schedule. What was the plan after that, aside from getting worse every subsequent season? the youth side of it is a good point when looking at the owners, have we really seen any major improvement for young players getting regular first team football for Dundee?? I get that without Keyes and his money we'd be in a worse position than where we are but it's not like we've improved compared to when they first arrived.
  13. Mainly for the fact Kerr has been better at LB than our actual LB.
  14. I'd keep Kerr, McGhee (even though he's massively dropped off since September, even with his injury), Ashcroft, Byrne, Adam (aslong as we get quick midfielders near him, no one has that in our midfield), McMullan, Mulligan and McGowan. Bin Legzdins, Fontaine, Marshall, Jakubiak, Elliot, Griffiths, and Mullen tomorrow. The rest I have my doubts about, including Anderson. Lawlor hasn't had a chance and may well be better than Legzdins but we'll never know.
  15. I'll be in the minority here but Anderson hasn't done enough to deserve a start every week. He does alot of running, but I don't see enough from him apart from that
  16. What's the point in signing him permanently when he hasn't proven himself for the last 5 months? What's going to change?
  17. Anyone managed to get Dumbarton tickets yet? And is it online only or are they selling at the ticket office?
  18. It's been happening for years, and I still don't know why, but whenever our keepers have a goalkick we always move to one side of the pitch, leaving the other side empty. It just takes a full back or winger to stay on their side and we have loads of space to attack but as usual we never think outside the box.
  19. Also, some pace in midfield would be good too, someone who can run with the ball the same way McMullan does. I think they call it attacking
  20. Kerr, Fontaine and McGowan were our best players today. How we could only get 5 subs on the bench is beyond me though, and not even give the young lads game time. Mullen and Griffiths offered next to nothing. Get Jack Ross in asap, will struggle at Aberdeen and Livingston before the derby. He was good in the championship last season for us, but whether it was just because he came replaced Hamilton or not, Legzdins is bang average. He takes forever to take goal kicks (whether McPake tells him to time waste or not is another thing), he can't kick the ball properly and has let in shots that should've been saves (1st Derby winner, Porteous goal at Dens). Goalkeeper, LB and CH needed in January first and foremost.
  21. Would swap him with JR asap, Hibs can take him or leave him for all I care. McCowan has been the best player of our season so far, and he's only started picking him regularly since mid October. It's amazing what can happen when you play with two natural wingers. Was slated for criticising LG's fitness and attitude since he arrived but it's good to see others are catching on too. Get rid of him, Sheridan and Jakubiak as they offer nothing. No idea why Cummings hasn't had some of the chances Griffiths has wasted. Giving him two minutes at the end is an absolute waste of everyone's time. McPake is genuinely clueless.
