Try the Scottish football section of bbc news. It was an independent study & it was just these 2 clubs chosen. -

Further to last weekends discussion on here about sponsorship & advertising worth. A Uefa pilot study has announced today, that Ayr United generate £8.6m per annum for their local community & Spartans £5.2m. As unbelievable as those figures sound, it does show the worth of a club to their local area. -

You could predict one of the top three dropping a few points, but all 3, full time sides is unlikely. That and we'd probably need to win 7of our last 9 games. Take each game at a time, aim for third & see where we are at the end on March. -

Not anything to lose here for us, playing a cagey defensive game probably won't suit us. The first 2 encounters between the sides tought us both, that whoever gets the first goal will likely be crucial. Hate seeing Dunsmore out the team & Smith made a real difference in his cameo at Forfar last week. C'mon Fife, go for it! -

Bit of luck, we'll be resting players for the play offs by then! -

Raith & Falkirk, stronger, yes. Less mistakes in them, yes. I wouldn't say last night Falkirk played much football though. First half of the season we generally tried to play football, we then went off the boil a bit & since then we've had to grind out results. As I said on Saturday, result more important than the performance at the moment. -
Lowly Loons vs DY's Dynamos

Less said about the performance today, at this stage of the season its results that count. For once other results all went our way, lets aim for at least 3rd.- 89 replies

Always felt there are elements of this exaggerated hatred in the Forfar support (not all Loons mind). Years ago, I remember Les Byle breaking his leg in front of the dug out, the abuse dished out as he was stretchered off was horrendous, called a cheat & a diver, don't think he ever played again!- 89 replies

Is there any evidence to show that advertising pitch side is a worthwhile spend? I can honestly say I've never once given my custom to a business because I've seen their board at a football ground. I have actually wondered this before, eg Rainham Steel down south. How many people at a game think, "Ill use them the next time I need some steel!"? However, if you started a plumbing business & never told anyone, you wouldn't get any custom, you need to get your message across. It's about giving something back, & if we see companies names on signs about the place, our perception is, they must be more professional, a better firm to deal with, better employer etc. If you just daubed you firm's name in your own handwriting on the side of an old transit van, customer's perception would be the opposite. -

Yeah, would hope for the above. Suspect Smith & Hunter could be 2 though. Please tell me the gaffer isn't still registered as a player? -

Would add Higgins to that list. I know DD & Janny have been injured for the most part, but neither have had as much game time as they'd have wanted, so can understand if the left. Dunsmore has never made it secret he wants full time & he can play at a higher level. DY has been terrific recruitment-wise for us. Would be good to see some extentions soon. Fingers crossed we avoid injuries in the run in. -

Have to admit, I like when you visit other grounds at this level & see the advertising hoardings still showing the local Butcher, Baker & Haulage firm. Refreshing from the sell out multi-national companies you see in the EPL. Stenhousemuir had a good video on thier website at the start of the season, to launch a new away strip, they went round local businesses, presumably who sponsor the team. Maybe we could do more with our site & Eftv. The more the club is seen as a force for the good & promoting the community might not be a bad thing. -

Iirc he was seen as a puppet, controlling the shares of the disgraced Julian Danskin, but others might be better informed. There was a protest called Doon wi Broon, where fans pushed a wheelbarrow through the high street to Bayview, dark days. -

Does seem to be the case, was that not a legacy from the Derrick Brown era, when no one wanted anything to do with the club? Probably find like everything else these days, all lower league clubs advertising will have fallen over the last 20years. -

If we finish 4th, we wouldn't have airdrieO, or the linos in the play offs, we'd have 9th place in the championship. Agree wi the rest of it though. -

Pretty poor indictment of today's football fans if a game of this magnatude can't get a decent crowd. We took around 750 to Starks last time, I'dve expected Falkirk to be taking at least double that. They had 1000 at bayview. -

Gradient v Tartan. The worst 2, in my opinion, but the tartan would be pretty unique & something different. The checks in white, with gold/yellow squares and black shorts, white socks wouldn't be a bad change kit. Shirts and socks could be interchanged with the home when required. Hope there's no issue with tartan needing to be registered with some lord lyon type rule pish. -

Maybe after 4 pints, with half closed eyes, option 4 from a distance might actually look like black stripes (might clash with my Rupert Bear trews though). Probably like 3 the best. 2 would look poor with white shorts & white is our traditional colour. 1 is ok, but after a year, I think id be bored of the design. Maybe the chequered design on a change strip would be fine though. -
Fife vs Stranraer Match Thread
Life on Marrs? replied to Big Fifer's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
The amount of draws they've had lately would suggest, Stranraer, although lacking in quality, more than make up for it in effort & will fight for everything. Whoever we pick, we need to match their desire if we are to get the 3points.
