  1. Poor show from camelon today. Scraped a draw at the death. Much improvement required for St Andrews next week. Oakley did well to convert 3 chances all of which were laid on a plate for them by poor play by camelon.
  2. Took in the game yesterday as a neutral. Tight 20 minutes or so until the game opened up and became a great watch. Linlithgow looked good at times and were compact and organised. Spartans huffed and puffed and played the ball around reasonably well without any real threat. However when it comes to goals you will fail to see as many crackers as you did in this game. Once Linlithgow had taken control of the game they looked really good and the goals flew in. Mark Stowe is some player and really should be playing at a higher level. Great days entertainment. Pies were world class too.
  3. Attended as a neutral tonight. Thoroughly enjoyable game. QP probably deserved their lead at halftime although Ayr had a couple of good chances, blazing one. Over the bar and pulling out an excellent save from the QP goalkeeper. Early goal in the second half gave Ayr the platform to go for it and in fairness they looked good at times in the second half. QP were very negative in the second half and the manager must take responsibility for that as he set them up to hold a lead rather than push on and try to win the game. Great reaction from the Ayr fans both when they equalised and then got the winner. Best of luck to both teams for the season ahead.
  4. Took in yesterday's game at carmuirs. Dreadful game of football with the only consolation being that the better team won, albeit in rather bizarre circumstances. Camelon are absolutely honking. Disorganised and filled with players who are simply not good enough. If things don't improve then a second successive relegation is on the cards. I thought last years lot were bad but this new wave makes them look like Brazil of 1970. Something needs to change and soon.
  5. To get back to the football for a moment. I was at the game yesterday and Camelon were absolutely appalling in every aspect of the game. Two guys in the centre of midfield who are slower than me and I'm 65. It's gone from a bad season to an incredibly bad season since the new manager came in. Totally clueless in how to set up a team. No pace, no imagination, no idea how to mark up the opposition. Certain to be relegated unless there is some sort of miracle. Most worrying is that if and when they do go down it could be for a long time as I cannot see them attracting decent players given the reputation the club has now gathered for itself. It's a shame.
  6. Decent game in difficult conditions with the first goal being absolutely vital. Lithgy got it and went on to win deservedly. Camelon goalkeeper is the best in the league by a mile. Camelon improving slowly but still giving away goals cheaply. Think they will be ok in the long run as they are improving week on week. Need to cut out the unenforced errors at the back though. Not point in complaining about the. CoVid restrictions. It is what it is.
  7. Well that's me finally made up my mind after close on 60 years of watching Falkirk. To be honest it's been coming for some time now. Season ticket or not, I am not giving up my Saturday afternoons to watch that garbage any more. Sheerin has this team playing like an under 12 team. Pass the ball to death, keep the ball and do absolutely nothing with it in the way of scoring a goal. That's exactly how the kids team play and how they are coached. It's torture to watch. You don't have to play like Barcelona to win this league. Especially if you don't have the players capable of playing the game in this fashion. Absolute shite from start to finish. I'm done.
  8. I'm not the greatest Falkirk fan in the world. However they were miles better than Queen's Park today. On any other day it could have been 4 or 5 one to Falkirk. Just wasn't there Day.
  9. Camelon Musselburgh game abandoned after 25 minutes or so. Parts of the pitch underwater. Further torrential downpour continuing in Falkirk right now. Referee clearly made the right decision. Shaping up to be a right good game too. Pity.
  10. If any donation is classed as income to the spfl then the premiership clubs get 84% of as per the articles of the spfl
  11. Really enjoyable game at camelon yesterday. Camelon well worth their win but credit to both teams for getting the ball down and playing some good stuff in pretty poor conditions. Have watched jeanfield several times and they are a treat to watch at times. However they seem to have lost a bit of a goal threat up front as they were nowhere near as dangerous in the final third as they have been when I watched them previously. Have they lost players or are they struggling up front due to injury?
  12. In 57 years of watching falkirk the aforementioned Mark Durnan has just produce the worst individual performance of a professional football player that I have ever had the misfortune to witness. He is fucking hopeless.
  13. As far as I am aware he was there to check the lights. Club secretary told me the sfa would be there to do just that some weeks ago. And it was Wednesday right enough. Old age is a terrible thing.
  14. Heard last night that there was an sfa representative in attendance on Tuesday who was quite happy with the lights and it was purely down to the referee to call off the game
  15. Took in the camelon game yesterday. Enjoyable game given the conditions with the pitch being completely sodden and a prolonged period of torrential rain in the second half. Even first half with camelon just edging it and probably deserving of their lead at half time. Bluebell pushed hard in the second half and were much more direct in their approach to the game which, given the conditions was probably the right thing to do. They had three really good chances, a couple of which were pretty much sitters. However camelon held on under a fair bit of pressure to take the points. Some good footballers on show yesterday with the numbers seven and nine for bluebell in particular catching the eye. All told a good game featuring two good teams who tried to play football in tough conditions.
  16. Clyde were better in every area of the pitch today. Falkirk were shite. We are not winning this league. Accept it and move on. First division football for the next few years.
  17. That's the exact opposite from what I heard from someone who sat in on all the presentations.
  18. Oh and I thought the referee was excellent throughout
  19. A draw would have probably been a fair result. Blackburn missed a couple of good chances in the first half and overall were probably the better team in that period. Camelon started the second half well and scored what was a well worked goal. Credit to Blackburn though for sticking in and getting level when they did. After the Blackburn guy got sent off the game went a bit flat and looked like a draw was on the cards. Penalty at the end was a bit of a sickener for camelon but it was clearly the right decision. Felt for the Blackburn guy who got sent off. Yes it was a hand ball but to get a second booking for it and get sent off was harsh to say the very least. Blackburn looked better than last season but camelon are clearly lacking in confidence right across the park. Difficult to see where the goals will come from this season.
  20. Camelon were poor and defensively all over the place at times. Jeanfield took their chances and played well particularly when camelon went down to ten men.
  21. I thought that two of the goals in the second half were superb. You're right about the camelon back four. The number 22 I think completely bodied the camelon centre half and as a unit jeanfield seemed to play through and around them with ease. Much improvement required.
  22. Better team won on the day. Probably a bit unfair on them to lose by 5 goals but jeanfield certainly took their chances when they came along. Camelon had a man sent off in the second half and after that it became a bit of a formality. Couple of wonder goals by jeanfield and some poor defending by camelon and also some iffy goalkeeping did not help their cause. Going to be a long hard season for camelon I would say.
