I said this in the match thread but recruitment has been abysmal. No depth so the same players are expected to go out every game and play 90 minutes and we can’t change it. No chance we are doing anything this season. If the poor form continues then do you sack the manager? This will then result in us losing him and fordyce.

Something definitely not right at the moment.

I did see this coming in July and was shot down for it. Recruitment is a huge part in football and squad depth if the 3/4 get injured is worrying.

I can understand folk being unsure about a young manager but how exactly does that make it a "shambles" ? Is it a gamble? Aye probably, but a "shambles" Holy moly folk on here dramatic.

As was said above, imagine this was Falkirk, we’d be slaughtering it!

I’m excited and intrigued to see how it works out but if you’re a player I don’t imagine it would seem very appealing to be a part of compared to other teams in our league with genuine managers.

how many player/managers have lasted more than 6 months these days? They either get sacked or commit to being a player or a manager it never seems to work out..

Recruitment IMO seems to be a major issue,  Ada m Livingston Clyde LB has apparently knocked us back,   A few on here and on the group page appear to think there is plenty going on and quality signings are lining up just to be announced,  I sincerely hope so. We don't have a lot of time and if we have been rode 4 nil by Hamilton today (rumoured) things haven't started well..

Cowdenbeath a week on Saturday surely we will have a minimum of 16 or 17_signed before loanees are added before the League starts,  we currently have 10 outfield and 2 keepers.......

Let’s be honest, if you’re a player would you want to sign for a player manager on his first job at 29, player assistant, player goalie coach…

whole thing looks a shambles from the outside and most I’d say wouldn’t want to be involved.

I’m excited for the new season but not confident in the slightest.

I suppose the first activity this week will be the manager's position.

Loan players don't count therefore the free's for me are Pyott, Walker, Ritchie, M MacDonald, Allan, Gallagher & Agnew (no problem with him retaining assistant role)

    Mibbee's: Currie, G McGill, Cantley

Keep the rest although as mentioned Josh Kerr most likely will move on but we need to sign some bigger stronger players who can head the ball as I would love us to score a header from a corner.

Current signing rumours: Scott Taggart & Grant Savoury

Was Kerr the last to score from a corner at falkirk? Can’t think of another off the top of my head

I agree on McGill, I like him but it wasn’t the game for him. We were pretty flat tonight and I thought Jordan Allan would have provided a lot more energy out there than McGill, who was pretty poor and never really got going. Neither are natural wide players to be fair, we don’t really have any at all, but on a night where our passing wasn’t slick I’d have fancied Allan to get in behind their defence.

I’d have fancied Allan and afolabi to fight it out against their 2 cb’s, was far too easy for them playing against Gallagher
