  1. Hard to tell without Stuart Millar on the facebook group asking for opinions for the third kit before just disregarding all input and releasing a Livi kit instead
  2. 98 according to the club website. I’d have thought more if I’m honest but I suppose two shortened seasons haven’t helped in that regard.
  3. Comfortable win against a team we’ve struggled against in the last few seasons and Cove dropping points at home against a team with ten men. Happy days.
  4. I'm chuffed with that signing. I'm sure Celtic had high hopes for the boy when they signed him so you'd expect him to do well in League One based on that alone.
  5. Striker should definitely be the priority right now but to be fair we lost two midfielders in January, one a regular starter (McInroy) and one benchwarmer (Caves) so getting one more in seems fair enough. We've got five boys competing for four spots in the midfield with Ritchie and McDonald not getting much game time so it's not like we've got loads of options in that area. Hopefully this lad comes in and challenges the others but him being so young and only really played in the Lowland League it is probably most likely that he's on a par with the likes of Ritchie etc. Would be good to hear what Killie fans think of him or how he got on with BSC.
  6. I honestly don't know how any club could be stupid enough to sign him right after what happened at Raith. I'd have been opposed to signing him for obvious reasons anyway, but it'd be so much stupider now.
  7. I don't even want to think about the possibility of that. It wouldn't be would it? The people behind the scenes at the club can't be that stupid surely?
  8. Remember it well even if I was about 7 or 8 years old at the time. Wasn’t it a record as well?
  9. SPFL twitter account posting about hat-tricks today as part of their throwback thursday and it’s got me thinking: who was the last player to actually score a hat-trick for us? The most recent I can think of was Leighton McIntosh and that’s going back quite a bit. And I’m not counting Crighton’s “hat-trick” against Albion Rovers of a brace and an own goal.
  10. Had a feeling for the last month or so that Leigh Griffiths would end up in our league this season. Will be interesting to see how he gets on since he obviously has ability but his attitude and fitness are very questionable. We’ve been looking for teams to take points off Cove and even though there’s no guarantees Griffiths will be any good for Falkirk, he can hit a free kick, and one or two of them against the right team could do us wonders. Should also make us beating Falkirk in our final game against them even sweeter knowing they’ve got that clown up top.
  11. Currie MacDonald Kerr Fordyce Paterson Frizzell McCabe Agnew Easton Allan Smith Might not be set up exactly that way but that's as close as we've been to players in their preferred positions in weeks. And we've still got previous regular starters Watson, McGill, and Gallagher on the bench which is relatively decent depth. Without meaning any disrespect to Watson (who I've really liked at right back) I think that's probably our strongest and most positive back four. Surely our two best centre backs and natural attacking full backs on either side of them (notably playing on their stronger sides).
  12. Sandy Stewart was manager for about the same length of time too I think? Think by the end of this season Murray will certainly have overtaken them but not sure if he has yet.
  13. Delighted for both Murray and Easton receiving their awards. Good for the players and staff to get recognition for what’s been a fantastic run, last league loss was on the 20th of November. We’ve had good runs before, but the way we’ve been playing has really added to this one. I think this is the first time Murray’s been universally revered by the fans which is great for him and great for us.
  14. Without meaning any disrespect to the guys listed I’m quite surprised by the options the club’s put forward for January’s player of the month. I’ve went for Allan who by all accounts had a great month and I’m sure he’ll win it, but my first choice would’ve been Scott McGill followed by Easton.
  15. Stuart Taylor’s said it’s unlikely that Hamilton will bring any more players in, so McInroy probably won’t be going there. It’s now getting to a point where if other clubs were in for him I don’t see why they wouldn’t have signed him yet. At one point the saga dragging on meant to me we wouldn't get him back, but at this stage it seems to me it’s dragging on because he doesn’t have other options worth taking. Regardless, we need two or three more bodies in so this could be a desperate night. We’re still allowed to get players in on loan until the end of next month but it would be better to get business done sooner rather than later.
  16. A pessimist might see this as a chance to close the gap missed, but we’ve drawn away to Queen’s Park while Cove have drawn away to Dumbarton. Our result undoubtedly not as bad as theirs. They’re not invincible. They will drop points. I feel better about our title chances than I did yesterday.
  17. I think we should be looking at Rangers and Celtic’s B teams in the Lowland League, as we’ve already done with Paterson and apparently have been attempting to with Moffat. That Tony Weston boy’s got a great record for Rangers B in that league which is of a pretty decent standard as we all know. Surely Rangers would rather he got regular game time in League One than in the Lowland League?
  18. We’ve scored 6 less than Cove in the league and conceded 7 more suggesting they’re pretty much equally better than us in both departments. We’re the second highest scorers in the league but only 4th best for not conceding. The difference with the goals scored is that the majority of their goals have came from McAllister and Megginson while ours are more spread throughout the team, they could be in trouble if one of them gets injured (especially Megginson who appears to lead the league in assists as well as being fourth top scorer). And Goodwillie’s the top scorer in our league btw rather than either of Cove’s pair. Don’t get me wrong, I think we need to bring in a forward. We’re light in the area due to injuries. But I just wouldn’t expect us to pick up anyone as good as Megginson or McAllister in January and I think the priority should be getting the best players we can in, regardless of what position they play. And I think we already miss McInroy. From boxing day until his last game we won 3-1, 1-0, 1-0, 3-0. We’ve played two in the league since he left and they’ve been 3-2 and 2-2 and in both of those games we’ve been on top and let our opponents get back into the game twice.
  19. 23 vs 7 isn’t a great comparison when the 23 have been scored by two players and the 7 by one, but I get what you’re saying. They have far more prolific strikers than us. The problem is that proven goalscorers like them tend not to be available in January unless you’re willing to pay a transfer fee, which we won’t. I don’t think as a team we’ve really lacked goals so the problem for me up front isn’t really the quality but the lack of options up top now that we’ve got a couple of injuries. I’m quite sure we’ll be looking to bring a forward in and I hope we do, I just feel that McInroy coming back would be bigger for us than any striker since we know he’s a game changer and since he’s already been here he’d fit right in. Doesn’t look like it will be happening now but I think a player like him or Turner that’s clearly too good for the league is the difference between us pushing Cove all the way or having to settle for the playoffs again, regardless of what position they play.
  20. Understand why folk are desperate for a striker and I want one in too, but if it’s McInroy or a striker I’m picking McInroy every time. The boy was a total game changer for us and could score a winner from nothing as seen against Queen’s Park. He’s got technique, energy, physique and confidence in abundance and I think I’d rather have him than even Kyle Turner, and that’s saying something. If we fail to get him in though I would agree it makes sense to redirect that energy towards bringing in a forward.
  21. The return of Ian Murray’s dreaded triple sub. This makes it even more important that we get more bodies in.
  22. MacDonald starts and Paterson on the bench. Would expect MacDonald to play left back tonight and Paterson to come on at some point for a run out, either replacing MacDonald or with MacDonald moving to right back to accommodate him. Good to see Gal back in the starting lineup. Allan done well but we’re looking closer to our strongest 11 tonight imo.
